I’ve been to every single Indian restaurant in western mass and northern Connecticut. this one is clearly at the bottom of the list. needs lots of improvement in food, cleanliness, and building itself. Waiter was nice and professional tho, poor guy had to work waiting tables and serve the convenience store that’s built into the restaurant. I came in really really hungry,(even tho I would eat full portion of Indian food even not being hungry) but after my food came I tried few bites and my appetite was gone. couldn’t finish even half of the Chicken and rice. rice was ok but chicken and sauce for it wasn’t good at all. also naan bread was a joke, nothing like naan. hopefully some day the owners will improve the place. but in next few years we are not coming back for sure.

The food was decent. Loved the garlic naan and Aloo paratha. Tried Chicken samosa for the first time and I liked it. Worth giving a try. The quantity of the curries were less when compared to other restaurants but the taste was decent. The chicken biryani was good and the rice in it was tasty. The overall service was good and these guys are friendly. I would definitely love to go again for some decent food.

Tasty and spicy food DOESNOT mean extra extra extra oil/butter! After reading the good reviews, we decided to do a take out from Rasham but suprise suprise the only dish that we ordered was way below par! Dint know daal makhni is made of yellow daal and too much oil!(Wiki say: Dal makhani«Buttery Lentil» is a popular dish originating from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. The primary ingredients in dal makhani are whole black lentil(urad) with red kidney beans(rajma), butter and cream.) Will not go here again unless things change for the better!

I support this place 100% the three brothers working the place are very nice and hard working. They will do well for themselves. In regards to the food. I love Indian/Pakistani food. I must have Indian atleast twice a week. This is one of my go to spots for that. Chicken Mackni is on point. Goat briyani. Awesome. Although I do get food coma every time I go there… I don’t feel sick like I do when I eat processed foods. The food here is home made and the taste is standardized. Standardized to taste GOOD.

I stopped in for dinner tonight and became the 21st customer in the dining room. From what I could see, I was the only person of the Caucasian Persuasion. Add that nugget to the Indian/Pakistani music playing over the audio system and you get the idea that Rasham is the real deal –authentic South Asian food with a loyal clientele of followers. I saw a big table of 15 folks laughing and drinking lassis and enjoying big plates of food. The dining room is pretty simple –lots of gold, burgundy, and white shades on the walls and even on the ceiling tiles. I counted about 15 tables in the dining room. My server, Talet, was a great guy– super friendly and polite. And in case you were wondering he spoke better English than I did! I tried Chicken Shami($ 4), a Chicken Samosa($ 1.50), and an order of Shrimp Biryani($ 12.99). The Shami was a chicken and lentil patty served with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The chicken Samosa was sort of a ground chicken turnover in a pastry crust. They were served with three sauces– a brownish tamarind sauce, a light green mint sauce, and a white yogurt sauce. The tamarind didn;t do much for me, but the yogurt was good, and the mint was great– surprisingly spicy and very tasty. The Samosa was excellent and a real bargain at just a buck and a half. The Shrimp Biryani was very good and a good value at $ 12.99. It was a generous serving of perfectly seasoned rice, with a ton of small shrimp. At first I was thinking that the amount of shrimp wouldn’t be very impressive. But in spite of their size, there was so many of them that it seemed as though there were two in every forkful. All in all, I had a real fun meal in a very different sort of place. Go and see for yourself.

It was one of the best Indian dinners I’ve had in the US as a vegetarian — Paneer Kadhai is a must-try for veggies.

Have only done take out. Food is great. If you are ordering full meals give them about 45 minutes. Quick pick up items like samosas, kebabs and nan are available pretty much right away.

After hearing about this place so much I decided to give a try. The food was surprisingly good the first day that I went however the service was the terrible. If I am not wrong, the owner’s sons run this place and it would be an accomplishment to get their attention on your table. Anyways I returned the following day and was disappointed! One of major highlight of my visit was when I request«large cup of tea» and it came in little tea pot which my friend and I shared in tiny little cups, meanwhile I asked the waiter to «warm it up» and he came back saying«there’s no tea left in the pot» lol like seriously? Thsys so cheap, they are charging $ 3.50 for like 2 ounces of tea. Rice were chewy while so called«balti gosht» tasted just as normal«Salan», nothing special about it. Overall they need to improve their service on whole another level.

Try the Lamb Balti(Balti Ghosht). Restaurant is not expensive and food is really good. Not like other restaurant where very dish tastes the same. Biriyani is also good and not overrun with spices. And the staff is awesomeee. Very courteous and helpful, never had a bad experience.(I have visited the restaurant around 10times). They also have a grocery store attached to the restaurant.

Alright, now let’s cut through to the bottom line here folks. This is of the finest quality Pakistani restaurants in all of Connecticut, above the quality found in West Hartford. I’ve eaten mostly all of their dishes as well as attend their weekend lunch buffet which has never disappointed my company, nor myself, not a single time! The service is attentive, courteous and polite, the owners are always observant and concerned with their customers’ satisfaction. The somosas are spectacular, never had the frozen experience expressed by former reviewers. This is my favorite Pakistani restaurant! Enjoy! * In addition, there is now a newly renovated banquet hall

Unarguably the worst Indian/Pakistani restaurant in all of CT! Go here only if you’re seeking premature death from the oiliest, spiciest(needlessly) & greasiest South Asian food in the entire USA. And to top it off the service is so bad, that I am simply amazed that this place has remained in business as long as it has! Literally the only redeeming thing on their entire menu is the Chicken Seekh kabab. Oh and if you do go here —do check out the intro-blurb on the front of the menu — it is self-congratulatory hyperbole that is completely incongruous to the food served! Quite funny actually:)

I don’t like the biryani. Sometimes they give me tiny samosas that were frozen, instead of the freshly baked ones. The service is courteous. Bring your phone to call in case they aren’t available in the front desk.

Excellent food. Friendly people. Service may be slow, when crowded, décor may be ordinary, but if you care for good Indian taste, you should not miss this place. I would add another star if they cut down on oil :)

VERYDISHONESTANDPOORFOODQUALITY — read below for full review. Yesterday, I went in to get food. I had a 25 dollar voucher. Voucher conditions state that you have to buy 35 dollars of food to get the 25 dollar discount. So you will be only paying an additional 10. The fine print says that there will be a 18 percent gratuity charge for tabel service. I ordered 35 dollars of food from the printed menu on the counter. LOW and behold the«prices» are incorrect. Things that are listed at 8 dollars are«actually» 9 dollars. WTF? Things that are listed as .40 are«actually» 4.00… HE said it was a type O. but didn’t you realize i was ordering from your printed menue in front of your very own eyes? Guess he didn’t want to tell me. WE did not get table service. WEGOTTAKEOUT. how do you charge gratuity(tip) on take out? I didn’t want to argue with the guy to much so i mentioned these things to him. The man behind the counter didn’t want to listen and demanded his money. He didn’t give me a receat and just kept calculating numbers on his calculator and trying to prove he was correct. I paid his fee– 32 dollars more then i would have paid if he was honest in his menu… why i paid? and why didn’t i just leave? — i was with potential business clients and didn’t want to make a fool of myself arguing for money. ATLEASTTHEFOODWOULDBEGOODRIGHT? WRONG… The chana masala was all liquid and full of onions and ginger.(nasty) The palak panir, was made from frozen spinach you can clearly taste the freezer burn. The Dall makahani was loaded with peppers, i’m indian i can handel my spice but this was not a logical amount of spice it was OD beyond limits — my client almost cried THEVEGETABLERICEBIRYANITASTEDANDFELTLIKERUBBER. yes like rubber the entire plate went in the garbage. the good part… their naan was good and baked very well. the raita was also very good. but you cant mess up yogurt mixed with water and salt. and the mand behind the counter could speek very good english. in the end we garbaged everything and just went to get some noodles and company in west hartford. SO dont bother going here save yourself the head ache and disappointment.
