I’m relatively new to the area and have been scouting the best spots for good beer and Southern Pines Growler Company has become a staple of my shopping. I stop in here to fill a couple of growlers almost every Friday on my way home from work. I often stay for a beer or two which you can drink indoors or on their new patio if the weather is nice. Steve usually helps me while I’m there and he’s super knowledgeable and personable. They have a great selection of 30 rotating taps which they generally keep about half North Carolina beers. They pump some CO2 into the growlers before filling them which helps to keep them fresher for longer which is a nice touch. I always show up with a clean growler but the staff always makes sure to give your growler a final rinse before they fill it. I’m not into home brewing so I can’t review that part of the store but I’ve browsed through that area of the shop and it seems like they have a good selection. I haven’t purchased much from the bottle shop here and the selection isn’t fantastic, but they usually have some beers that interest me when I walk through. The prices leave a little to be desired. Naturally, I would expect the beer here to be a little more expensive than what it would cost if you were to fill a growler at an actual brewery since they have a broad selection and aren’t the source, but in some cases the beers are significantly overpriced compared to what you’d generally find at other beer shops. It’s frustrating at times that the menu doesn’t list the brewery names. It lists the beer name, type, ABV, and price. I’m not from this area originally and I know that a lot of others that frequent Southern Pines Growler Company aren’t either, and it’s difficult to identify which breweries the beers are from unless I’m familiar with the brewery beforehand. Overall, I will definitely continue to frequent Southern Pines Growler Company because of the service, rotating selection, and the fact that it’s one of the better options for a small town such as Southern Pines.

Over priced and no Military discount… went looking for a few home brew items, wort chiller, recipe etc. wort chiller was $ 30 higher than other places and the recipe about $ 40 higher. Guess I will be making the trip to Raleigh for my supplies.

Jerry is an amazing guy who sells the tastiest beer in town and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the town. I will visit his shop every time I come to Southern Pines!

Like another reviewer — caught a glimpse while driving thru. The quick glance was enough to make me stop. Glad I did. Were I to delve into the beer making process, this is the place. They have a schedule where they conduct a class on making beer. were it not for«other things to do» on 7 Feb 14, I’d be there. They have tap a plenty with micro beers. Went with the Dirtbag Porter in a growler and sampled a stout. I don’t get to Southerpines often however, when I do — this is a MUST stop for a person that likes quality beer. Staff — VERY friendly, nice atomsphere, sure glad I turned around and will stop again.

Great selection of bottles, thirty regularly rotating taps — always diverse and excellent. And more home brewing supplies than I’ve ever seen available in one place. This is practically a one-stop shop for everything craft beer.

Caught it be the corner of my eye while driving past it. Excellent customer service. Great selection of local beers, and they accept growlers from other breweries.

Normally, I don’t review a place after only one visit. However, barring some kind of unforeseen faux pas(such as never cleaning their lines), which I seriously doubt will happen, I believe this is an accurate review. Southern Pines Growler Company has 30 beers on tap and a limited selection of bottled beer. They sell four types of growlers and growler sleeves with their logo, but will fill any growler. Their prices are good, and the 10% discount on North Carolina is a nice touch. The two gentlemen we met on our visit were highly knowledgeable, amiable, and informative. They didn’t dumb it down and were not patronizing or condescending. For bulk beer, this place is going to be hard to beat.
