Sundries Plus lives in the bottom of the Charter One Building which looms near American Drive and 696. An entire floor of businesses lurks behind the lobby to cater to the employees of the bank, engineering firms, law offices, and such occupying the building. A sweet lady runs the convenience store which stocks, as its name might imply, mostly pop, chips, gum, and candy. She sells microwavable meals, although a limited stock, and fruit at reasonable prices, though a bit of an upcharge than if you dodged up Telegraph to Meijer. Adding«Sundries» to the name, women’s nylons, Kleenex, and a modest supply of drugstore medications in «on the go» sample sizes are also available. Mostly, I use Sundries Plus for VitaWater and canned pop. The regulars come in every day to buy their quart of milk or bottle of water, receiving a welcome smile and pleasantries on the way. The place closes at 4, precipitating a rush down the stairs to get those last minute snacks as need be. The shop itself feels rather cluttered, with unsorted stock on empty shelves at the back instead of using a storeroom. The décor is painfully sparse, almost fly-by-night, and I would love another light or two. But for the between times when I look forward to a long project or a meeting(…heh…), Sundries Plus does the trick.
