I recently went for the first time and I will be going back often. The bagels are fresh and you can tell the food is quality. There are so many different flavors of bagels, cream cheeses, toppings and coffees that it makes it hard to choose. The staff is friendly and funny and being inside you immediately get the feeling that this business is important and beloved to the Southington community. The best part is it’s very cheap, a perfect upgraded alternative to Dunkin especially if your looking for something on the go

Best bagels I’ve ever had in CT and I’m a bit of a bagel snob. Soft on the inside, crisp on the outside. I actually prefer these untoasted. My rule of thumb, if you have to toast it, then it’s not a good bagel.

Waste of money. Rules for judging bagels: 1. Don’t judge a bagel by its filling. 2. Crumb, crust, flavor, sweetness. 3. Crumb should be firm and chewy, derived from well proofed high gluten flour. 4. Crust should be crisp, crispness derived from boiling before baking. 5. Flavor should be well developed, derived from proofing and malt. 6. Sweetness should be mild but present, derived from addition of malt. Fancy bagels only look like bagels. They miss the mark on all of the above. In fact, they were flavorless, not a hint of sweetness, mushy, pasty. They appeared also to be underbaked. I am going to throw out the Fancy Bagels I brought home, and dig some Katz bagels out of the freezer. Katz is a Boston bagelry that hits 6 points on a 5 point scale. By the way, Fancy Bagels does get one point. The lox spread was OK. But I guess I have to take that away, because their coffee is weak as water.

My boyfriend is from southington and he introduced me to fancy bagel. And ever since, I swear we go nearly every week. Their bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel is to die for. That is my definite go to. Cream cheese on a sweet cinnamon is also delicious. They have tons of flavors to choose from. I never considered half of them, but they look good. I haven’t tried a lunch bagel yet, but maybe one day.

Their coffee is awesome but I won’t be back. The staff isn’t friendly and they’re inconsistent with prices. The first time I went, my large coffee was $ 1.86. Second time, I show up with exact change and a different lady charged $ 2. So the third time I go, I walk in with $ 2 and I get charged $ 1.86 again. The fourth time, the same lady who charged me $ 2 now charged $ 2.18. So finally I go back with a debit card because I was using exact change and the price was always changing. She charged me $ 2.18 on my card and that was great. But today I go in with my card again and she charged me $ 2.18 and complained that I needed to spend at least$ 3 to use a card. I’m done going here! It’s so disappointing though because the coffee is good and it’s on the way to work but I can’t handle the un-friendliness in that place and the inconsistency!

Look, I really like this place. The staff is friendly. The bagels are fresh, head and shoulders above Dunkin. The bagel sandwiches are awesome. So why the 3 stars? The wait! I don’t think I have ever gone in without the line winding through the restaurant and patrons waiting for their orders. The problem? A grill that is undersized for the task of cooking eggs, cooking bacon, cooking sausages, etc. With all that on the grill it seems that only 2 – 3 sandwiches at a time can be made. I know good food takes time and at the end of the day Fancy’s food is worth the wait. But let’s be realistic, a bigger grill is in order. Afterall, there are tons of people that should be eating breakfast sandwiches from Fancy and *not* that donut place!

Great made to order breakfast sandwich. The bagels are soft and chewy when toasted for a breakfast sandwich. Same price as Dunkin and a million times better. Worth the small wait to get everything cooked on the grill to order.

They have the best bagels around. I have to say the only things that is a pain is the line sometimes you have to wait 15 — 20 mins but thats what you get for food to cook to order if you are in a rush for something you must call in. There lunches are good also.

Would give this place 3.5 stars if i could. I’d been to the Farmington location numerous times, but figured I’d check out the Southington one to see if it was any different. Nope, exactly the same. The bagels themselves are at best mediocre. They have no flavor and are too crunchy with no chewiness. You almost have to get an everything bagel to mask the non-flavor of the bagel. Couldn’t imagine getting a plain or egg. Now onto the good, they make a good egg sandwich, fresh on the grill, not microwaved egg. The ham should be thicker breakfast ham, not lunch meat ham. Overall not a bad choice, but you are much better off going to Goldberg’s or Lox Stock or Brookside.

This place is the best place in town to get a breakfast sandwich. Service is quick and the prices can’t be beat. Consistent in flavor and quality. Love this place.

Fast, prompt service, and mouthwatering breakfast sandwiches!!! I love their selection of bagels, everything from spinach to Asiago to jalepeno, it’s perfect for everyone. The staff behind the counter are very friendly and fast, especially seeing how many people were in there. The place is well kept with lots of drinks to choose from in their refrigerator and also fresh coffee. Prices are very resonable too – go here instead of dunkin donuts! Better quality and less expensive.

Absolutely the best bagels outside of the Big Apple I’ve ever had. Their bagel breakfast sandwiches are killer; I favor the steak, egg and cheese myself. You can also couple that with a medium coffee(Columbia Supremo is my pick of the batch, but they serve up quite an extensive coffee selection) for under 5 bucks, which to me is unreal once you taste the quality of ingredients and in preparation. They’re run well, their staff is incredible and hospitable(even under the pressure of their rushes, which happen often because, well, they’re really good at what they do) and I would give them 6 stars if it was an option. The worst part about this place is that I won’t get to take them with me when I move back out to the West Coast in a couple weeks. They just opened up a place next door called Fancy Burgers ‘n’ Franks and just as expected, their steamed cheeseburgers and grilled hot dogs are out of this world. Highly, highly recommended.

Very good breakfast sandwiches. Not the best around, but still very tasty. The problem is, unless you call ahead there is no way it will take you less than half an hour from walking in to walking out with a sandwich. If I’m going to return to a place it’s because of some combination of the following: 1) you’re cooking food way better than I can cook it at home, 2) you’re cooking it faster than I could myself, or 3) it’s cheaper than if I did it on my own. None of these are true about Fancy Bagels.

There was a constant flow of customers as my son and I had our breakfast. This place definitely seems to be a favorite, and it was clear why at the first bite. My son got a sweet cinnamon bagel with strawberry cream cheese, and I got a garlic with plain cream cheese. The bagels were excellent, not the best I’ve had, but very high on the list! Only second to bagels in NYC. The strawberry cream cheese tasted like it was actually made with strawberries and not«flavoring», you could see actually strawberry pieces. They have a nice selection of coffees and bagels, the breakfast sandwich bagels seemed to be a favorite, I’ll have to try one next time. They even have kielbasa and egg sandwiches! They have lunch bagels too, like pizza bagels, burger bagels, and bagels paninis.

I make it a point to stop here when I’m at this end of town in the morning, I always get 2 eggs, bacon and cheese on some bagel, always perfection. I feel sad when its gone! They sell the«day old bagels» in bags at times, but make sure you can eat them, they will go bad like any scratch baked good… they just dont have the preservatives Stop and Shop or Lender’s has.

There’s a ton of places to buy bagels but for the most part they are mediocre at best. Fancy Bagels has the bagels that my Long Island friends love. Have them and you’ll never enjoy any others. They are the best!

Had the bacon egg and cheese on onion bagel panini style. Very good! Also would recommend going with a breakfast wrap. They have a few different flavors of wrap and is a nice alternative to the bagels. They are also serving a «Apple crisp» coffee flavor — wicked good
