This was a good Thai restaurant. I could not give it 5 starts because I have had better here in CT. I want to go back and try a different dish. I had the Chicken Got Mad and was not that impressed. I just did not have much flavor and as fried so long it was on the dry side. Will post a follow up after I go back. Service was so-so, not horrible, but considering I was there at 2pm on a Sunday, it was not great either.

We’d been here plenty of times before and we’re always happy. The place is not full and the service is beyond slow. Ten minutes for someone to take our order, 25 minutes for our soup and we’re still waiting. Ten more minutes, we’re out the door. Really kind of sad because it used to be so good and the area needs a restaurant like this. Should have kept it small and intimate instead of spending the money on an expansion they can’t fulfill.

BOMB!!! Amazing Thai food. I love how they can make the food spicier if you ask them(normally it’s from 1 – 5 but can go up to 20). Love love love the fisherman’s Thai papaya salad, chicken larb, and fish dishes! And it’s BYOB!

I’m being generous with my stars because the food was so outstanding. It was a Saturday night so my expectations were that it would be a little busy. It was. However, it took 15 minutes to even be greeted! Once at our table we waiting 20 minutes for someone to come over to us and take our order. At that point, we ordered our appetizer and main dish as we didn’t want to wait any longer. 10 minutes later, we finally get our drinks. Time goes by. 30 minutes later our app comes out! Wow! I’m not sure what the hold up was as its not a huge dine in restaurant and the dish we ordered was the chicken and iceberg lettuce wraps. My main dish was the drunken noodles. Outstanding. So rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. The food there was out of bounds, but the service is holding me back from giving 5 stars. Our waiter, which I think may have been the owner, thanked us numerous times for our patience. So again, I’m not trying to bash the establishment as it had plenty of positives to outweigh the brutal negative. I would most definitely go there again, but maybe during the week this time instead.

Hands down one of the best Thai Restaurants in Connecticut. They have recently remodeled their restaurant is newly expanded with more seating and nice little bakery bar. Before there use to be wait times of 1 – 2 hours to get a table now the wait time has been cut in half. But since it is a very popular restaurant still expect a wait time when it get extremely busy(and yes it does). Somewhere in BKK has the most extensive Thai Food menu I have ever seen. They have a variety of curry dishes, stir-fried noddle dishes, seafood platters etc. If you are looking to eat a different variety of authentic Thai cuisine, this is the place to go. Their food is prepared fresh every single time and it is fairly easy to customise your order to cater your personal desire. Every time I eat here I order the red snapper in the tamarind sauce. It is a little bit on the pricey side since it seafood, but it is defiantly worth it. A lot of native Thai and Lao people love to eat at Somewhere because it is as close to authentic Thai Food you can get for being outside of Thailand. The Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao(Drunken Noddle) are very popular here. Their Lad Na is one of the most talked about dishes in the Thai and Lao Community here in CT. Many natives love it even though it is a little different from the traditional Thai version in that they have the noodles in a gravy like consistency sauce versus the traditional Thai version in a soup based broth. I can sit here and review Somewhere in BKK all day but as I mentioned before their menu is VERY extensive. I eat here often and have tried almost every dish on the menu and I have been yet to be disappointed. The restaurant’s environment is also very friendly and the bosses drop by all the time at the restaurant and the head Chef is actually the owner Khampasong Siboriboun. Somewhere is also BYOB so you can enjoy whatever alcohol you love with some great Thai Food.(There is also no corkage fee) Parking is very tight so when it gets busy parking your car can be very tricky. There are also many Thai restaurants in the area which are literally 5 – 10 minutes away in both directions from Somewhere in BKK but people still wait the 1 – 2 hours to get a table. As a native Thai Person I would highly recommend Somewhere in BKK.

Fantastic meal. Had the shrimp wonton soup and the chicken fried rice. Nothing crazy, just really good flavors. The place has some pretty cool décor as well. I would definitely come back.

The standard that I use to measure all yellow curries is set by the yellow curry at Somewhere in Bangkok. It is spectacular and nuanced, rich, deep, and chock full of fresh vegetables. I crave it. I have had some other items from the menu, though not much beyond the yellow curry. I literally cannot get enough of it. I’ll let others tell you about the other menu items; I’m here to tell you about their yellow curry. The restaurant is small, but a recent redesign and expanded parking have made it a bit better(I don’t know if there are technically more parking spots, but at least there is room to maneuver your car). Still, it can get quite crowded in the evenings. I have had plenty of less crowded experiences for lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially the guy who exclaims«Every day is a great day for Thai food!» when I come to pick up my to-go order.

I’ve tried every Thai restaurant in the area and this is the best by far! Love everything I try. It’s vey cute inside and service is usually good. Although it’s small(even though they recently expanded) and you might have to wait during busy times(but where don’t you). Love the crispy green beans, drunken noodles, curry, pad Thai… anything! Oh, and it’s BYOB!

We have been there a few times but it must have been an off night. Service was very slow, we waited a good 10 minutes for our waiter to come over to take our drink orders. The Drunkin Noodles was missing some flavor and there weren’t very many noodles(I have ordered this here before so I know what it should taste like). We had family in town who went there a few days later and made the same comment about the Drunkin Noodles which I was very surprised about. Maybe a new cook? We love this restaurant and the new renovations made so we will be back.

The best Thai food around. I’ve tried many others but for me, nothing compares to their Drunken Noodle or classic Chicken Pad Thai. The inside is beautiful and the service has always been great. Friendly staff, lunch prices — only thing that has caught me off guard is their being closed on Mondays!

What a pleasant surprise! We looked on Unilocal after furniture shopping and found this little place. Nice décor and food was great. We started with spring rolls which were ok. We ordered the pad Thai and the drunken noodles, both were delicious. The portions were huge so we had enough for lunch the next day. We will definitely be back.

I’ve eaten here a few times and was one of my favorite Thai places in town. I still gave a good review as the food was still really good. I think the server was new as we ordered and they brought to the wrong table, then they brought everything out at once. Apps, entrees, and salads. They fixed the problem quickly so it wasn’t a huge ordeal. Hopefully they do a little more training. Still the best drunken noodle around.

Every time it’s delicious. The atmosphere is trendy but comfortable. I have a problem –I only ever get the green curry, sometimes w/shrimp sometimes w/chicken or tofu. Tonight we are going and I’m going to try something different!

It had been a few years since my first visit. Driving up to this location was tricky, we easily missed the sign because the place looks like an agency or something with it’s white vinyling from the outside. The interior is really cozy and comfy. I loved the blue/yellow/red-orange wall, pictures frames and plentiful pillows along the benches. Food presentation was on point and portions were large. I wanted to try the phở here but I was not a fan. Not up to par with the Vietnamese Phở I’ve had. I will stick to Phở specialized restaurants. Other honorable mentions: Chicken Pad Thai Chicken Yellow Curry We did get a small bowl of hot rice on the side for the chicken dishes. There was actually so much food and rice left that we couldn’t finish it all! I’d have to come back and try a Thai dish. Huge fan of curry over here!

This is an amazing choice for Thai in this part of the state. They recently did some renovations, opening up the space and redecorating. It looks great! It’s sophisticated and elegant, with fun pillows along all of the bench seats. There’s plenty of seating, even though it does get pretty busy these days! The food is amazing. I’ve not had anything I didn’t like here, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. My favorite part? It’s BYOB! I’m a sucker for a BYOB spot with great food and great service — what a combination!

I was craving Thai Food so I googled and found this spot. I ordered take out and was told a 25 – 30 minute wait for one small dish! I thought that was a bit long for a weeknight, and it was 8pm at night. Once I arrived they only had a handful of people in the dining room. Like other reviewers said they need more staff to accommodate their guests. From what I noticed. The nice lady at the register was running around and processing four different tables credit cards all at once. I felt so bad for her. As far as my order and the food goes, It was ok. I was expecting to be more wowed with the taste of the food. I ordered chicken pad thai and received a to go container full of different sized noodles and some pieces of chicken. The noodles were very sticky and clumpy, It was just ok, not amazing. I’m definitely going to go back next time I am in the mood and see if anything improves. But the restaurant looked clean and looks like they had a new addition as well.

So far the best Thai food I have had in Connecticut, Awesome staff, very helpful and very prepared to answer almost any question regarding the food. Probably eaten here 6 times and everything is very tasty and consistent. See you again soon!

Excellent Thai food! We ordered the fried dumplings and they were delicious. If they were pre-packaged and frozen, they definitely didn’t taste like it. It might be safe to say that they make them there. I also ordered the Pad Thai with chicken(because I judge a Thai restaurant based on their Pad Thai… and curry dishes as well). The waiter asked me «how spicy would you like it on a scale from 1 — 5?». I said«3» and it came out with the heat of a perfect 3. The noodles were cooked the way I like them(not over or undercooked) and the chicken was really moist. It had just enough cashews in it to add some crunch to each bite. I was pretty impressed. My girlfriend ordered the Drunken Noodle and it was very tasty, but I’m not sure what it consisted of… noodles, vegetables, meat and sauce? It was very tasty, but mine was better. We ended dinner with the frosty tea. It tasted like a sugary tea and milkshake cross breed. It was pretty damn good. I then farted and casually crop dusted a couple at another table on our way out. It’s kind of my signature move. I’ll be back for sure :)

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. I’ve had several items on the menu. The calamari and onion pancakes are to die for. Shumai, dumplings and tempura veggies/green beans also good appetizers. Or do like I do and get the Yum Tom soup. I had it once and now I don’t come in without getting it. Add noodles or keep it low carb. Spicy and yummy! My main staple is Drunken Noodle and I’ll add chicken, beef, shrimp or duck. My husband almost always gets the Pad Thai and raves about the peanut sauce. We have also had some of the rice dishes, very good! Whatever you order, be sure to get Thai ice tea with it. The place is small but has a nice ambiance. Be prepared to wait for a table on a busy weekend. Large parties will wait longer. They take reservations. I suggest calling ahead on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Take out is always an option!
