I always make it a point to stay away from tourist restaurants with a water view. Over this Labor day wkend we were searching for a lunch spot in the Port of Egypt, Southold L.I. area. The Southold fish market/restaurant across the road had a 45 min. wait so we ended up here because my wife liked the location. Overpriced($ 16. for a small plate of fried calamari), uncreative dishes, and slow kitchen service. Friendly server, but no follow up from her. I got a bad vibe when I walked in and heard load arguing coming from the kitchen. I suggest trying another restaurant in the area.

Recently went there for lunch. It was a beautiful day and we were greeted right away and sat outside. The view is amazing, my wife and I enjoyed watching the boats and the boats docking up to the restaurant. We loved the inventive names of the all the boats we saw. The view is amazing, with clear views of Shelter Island and what I believe is Gardiner’s Bay. We split an order of Baked Clams in a Scampi Sauce. Clams were cooked perfectly, and they even gave us extra bread to dip into the remaining sauce. My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese. I ordered the Chorizo Panini, I don’t eat onions, so they were very accommodating to my request of no onions. It was very good. Juicy and meaty. We took our time eating and enjoying the view. We weren’t rushed and we had a very pleasant experience. It was our first time eating there, but not our last.

Very over priced & limited menu. We visited the area and went here on a recommendation. Extremely disappointed. We expected a more diversified menu, which it was not. The food was rather bland and the portions were small. I am sure you can do a lot better in this area for the same price. Very disappointing! The only saving grace for this place is the view, but still not worth the price or the food.

Ordered the special, flounder Francis, it was awful and overpriced. The only thing good was my daughter pasta, plain

Big Disappointment!!! We(14 family members, including 6 children) were on our final night of our annual Greenport vacation and made a reservation at a so-called local favorite called Pepi’s. We were excited for the view and an enjoyable meal. However, from the moment we arrived things headed SOUTH very quickly. It was undermanned, poorly staffed, our waitress was rude and bothered by every request. After hours of sitting with young children we were served in bits and pieces. 5 out of 6 children were served and 1 child was left for 45 minutes with no meal. 4 out of 6 adults were not served after 2hours. For example, my wife’s salad was served and mine wasn’t. My mothers meal was served together with her appetizers and everyone else sat there and watched her eat. We called prior and spoke with a so called manager and we were told they would easily modify the menu for kids and vegetarian amongst us. Our terrible waitress lied to us and would not deliver any of the accommodations that were told to us on the phone. It all went horribly wrong. The icing on the cake was the party of 15 that was dining a few table s away, they arrived well after us and were served and done before all of us. We eventually had a discussion with the manager who was disheveled and unaware. It was obviously that our waitress was not fit for a large group. We left soon after without our meals, hungry, frustrated, disappointed etc. We drove down the rode to a wonderful restaurant Michael Angelo’s.

Went with a bunch of friends. Tried several items on the menu. Mostly bland food. They need a better chef.

Good location with convenient boat slips. Food wasn’t very good. Calamari was over cooked and spongy, mojitos were very weak and bland for the price. Service was slow.

We ate there last night. The place was empty(only one other couple) and the service wasn’t very good. My husband got food poisoning. We think it was the clam chowder. When he spoke to them today they said«you can’t prove it». Nice!

Such a lovely spot. But such a bland experience. I’ve been here twice and while the food is fine you’re coming for the view. The service was really subpar. We were ignored for at least 15 minutes once we arrived and every step after that, up to and including the check, made us feel like an afterthought. It’s too bad as its one of the few restaurants on the water on the North Fork. But the service just doesn’t live up to the price.

A little gem on the water, my wife and I came here after a day of tasting wine. We had penne with vodka sauce and eggplant rollatini. Both were quite good and the server was very attentive. If your looking for a place that is semi casual with a view of the water then I definitely recommend coming here. We even split a bottle of wine they had on their wine list that we had just tasted previously.

I came here with a group of people for a friends birthday. The woman who we thought was the host told us that we would have to wait 30 – 45 min. She looked very unhappy with the size of our party, made some comments under her breathe and went behind the bar. About 2 minutes later, someone else came over and seated us outside. We waited about 10 min before our orders were taken. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, entrees, wine and desserts. We waited about an hour before our food came out which seemed a little strange since the place only had a few tables to take care of at that point. The food was alright but not spectacular. Not really worth it.

This restaurant uses a post of as very large menu that is moderately priced on line. When you sit down to be served, the menu you are handed in entirely different and much more expensive. Although the food was okay, we will not be returning anytime soon. Very deceptive… not cool.

Three times a charm? We went again, for the third time and I have to say, this place is consistently not good. The food is as others said, mediocre at best. The portions are very small, but service is good. Our waitress was lovely and right on the spot, but when the entrée arrived, I was shocked at how small the portion was. We did have a few appetizers, few drinks and entrée each and the bill was way more than all of us(6 in total) expected. Great view and location, but food needs to be improved dramatically and portions need to grow. Not a horrible place, but like most restaurants on the NOFO, just nothing special.

Went to Pepi’s on Friday for lunch and WOW, I really loved the place! My friend and i ordered 5 appetizers and two entrees to split and everything was delicious!!! Personal favorites where the fried calamari and the meatball appetizer. Both were scrumptious and cooked to perfection. Wait staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were presented well with generous pours and good taste. Not to mention, What A VIew!!! If you are out on a nice summer day in the area and want some good eating, head to this little hidden gem!

We had lunch there yesterday. Our experience was great. When we got in, it was two minutes to three. The waitress brought us the dinner menu first. I asked for the lunch menu. She explained lunch is served till three and immediately brought it over. My wife had mussels in white sauce, my son had an off the menu fried fish fillet and fries, and I had grouper wrap. We all loved our food. We ordered Pinot Noir, which is served in a large red wine glass, slightly more than half full(the way it is supposed to be). The wine is very good. No one came over to refill the water glass(we did not ask for it). Aside from that, we enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambiance. We will definitely go back there again when in the area.

Came Tuesday night for my aunts birthday with my whole family. The service was decent for a group of 12 with young children and picky adults. The food was ordinary. The clams were too chewy and the mussels serving was filled with closed shells. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals but we probably wouldn’t return. It would have been nice to see something on the menu to substitute for the pastas… there are no light meals unless you want a salad. But they had gluten free pastas which is always good to know. Overall it was good, but the only perfect thing was the view.

Went to Pepi’s a few times. Thought the food was good. Small place, quiet location, BEAUTIFULVIEWS of the water(see my photos). I live about an hour away & found it a little out of my price range, but would eat there again. I’m a vegetarian and haven’t eaten a meatball in 25 years– so can’t respond to the other reviews. But, would recommend this place, if you could afford it.

Go if you have a large group and are just looking for a place that can accommodate. Otherwise, stay away. Service was terrible, took forever to get the food and the waitress checked in on us once throughout the whole time. I had to flag down whoever I could for more water. The shrimp wrapped in prosciutto was NOT good when I had it. The prosciutto was really tough(maybe they overcooked it and let stand for too long?) and the whole thing was wayyy too salty. My seafood marinara was really spicy while my mother’s dish was really, really bland. I was spooning some of my sauce on it to give it flavor. The vegetables in her dish might as well have been frozen, they had to texture or flavor. Just kind of mush. The bread was good though! Two stars for the bread!(and the view’s OK, not unbelievable, but nice).

This is place isn’t bad, but then it’s nothing special either. Their calamari was very good. It had a soft chewy consistency. I also had their Mussels with Linguini which I thought wasn’t bad. +1 for generous portions If you LOVE italian food, then I’d say pass. Don’t think this place is going to be amazing. If you’re just looking for italian food in the area then sure give it a try.
