Hit ALure for restaurant week $ 28 prix fixe(they have the same prix fixe for just $ 1 more every Sunday). Deal of the century. The Thai mussels appetizer alone is worth the price of admission. Those mussels helped put Tom Schaudel on the LI restaurant map years ago and they’re still a fave. In a better world, that broth would be available in gallon jugs in the beverage section of your grocery store. I’d bathe in the stuff if that was an option The nut crusted flounder is great, the desserts are all winners and our waitress was a sweetheart. Nice selection of local beers and wines available. Place is a madhouse on summer weekend nights, but after season you can really lay back and appreciate the waterview from a nicely laid out room.

Went on a Friday night recently and was pretty disappointed. The food was average at best. We sat outside which should have been nice, however, there was a tent set up right next to us with a loud rehearsal dinner going on. It was nice for them, but lousy for all the other patrons sitting outside.

Have been here on several occasions and never been disappointed. A neat casual seafood restaurant with unique and fresh plates. The baja fish tacos and grilled calamari are both great starters. The herb crusted swordfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. A great location for a dinner with friends, a date or a family meal.

We’ve visited A Lure several times and have always enjoyed the experience. We recently brought some out of town friends there for their prix fixed Sunday menu. The food was terrific! They also offer a no corkage fee if you bring in local wines. We started with clams on the half shell and calamari. Several of us had the mussels in a Thai curry broth which was just delicious. Among the main courses ordered were the coconut macadamia crusted flounder(crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside), swordfish, salmon and the flat iron steak. Everyone at the table enjoyed the dinner immensely! The most popular dessert on the special menu that night was a coconut crime brûlée. It was so popular in fact that the restaurant had only one serving left when we ordered so they allowed us to order any other dessert on their regular menu. The service is stellar especially if your waiter is Kyle! He is personable, polite and very attentive to all of his guests. A Lure is lucky to have such a great employee! Kudos to A Lure for a great dining experience!

WORSTSERVICEEVER! No water no bread after asking 2 times. The waiter, never told us of specials available and we only knew about them after seeing them on another table. The kicker? No one to clear the tables! We had appetizers, 15 minutes and the dishes still there and they bring the food and try to put it on the table! We said seriously? We get dinner. Not a word from Jimmy S., our waiter. Never checked on us — until he comes by and«says would you like the check» — my father said I would like it after your clear the table. Jimmy says«ok» — ANDWALKSAWAY! Horrible — just horrible service.

Nice location, live music when I went, beach front, outdoor seating, good service, nice décor, pricey. The menu was simple, short and entirely seafood, obviously its call«A Lure» but there were literally two options that did not include seafood, which is odd. I got the tomato/mozz salad that was huge, I thought it would be chopped but it was for heaping chunks of mozz and fat slices of heirlooms. For the main meal I got the fish tacos, it was just one huge piece of fish with overloaded toppings, basic but good, incredibly hard to eat. I don’t think I will go back here.

Very good seafood place in Southold, right on the harbor. Nice outdoor seating, but can get a bit windy in the evening. Food was very good. For appetizer I had the Fish Tacos, and it was a nice hunk of fish in a taco. For dinner, they had a shrimp and Chorizo special, and it was very good, just the right amount of kick. Good beer selection. with some local brews added to the mix.

The best linguini clams I have ever had! The clams were juicy and meaty. The linguini was also garnished with pieces of high quality bacon. Delicious! And the fresh mozzarella salad was very very good. There were three different colored heirloom tomatoes that melted in my mouth.

Such a great atmosphere. If the weather is nice, sit outside! Comfortable seating, fair prices, good service and food.

AVOIDTHISPLACE!!! Horrible experience last evening on a weekday. Can’t imagine what would happen on a busy weekend. Had a reservation for outside table and they sat us 30 minutes late Ordered soft shell crabs and our apoetizers. We were waiting and waiting until a very young waitress(not our original) told us no more soft shell crabs. This was an hour after we ordered!!! Evening was a disaster. Owner didnt charge us for our apoetizers and two glasses of wine BUT at that point evening was ruined. Nice scenery but many other choices on the North Fork that deliver…

Great setting and a nice ambiance. Service in dining areas is professional, friendly and attentive. But they need to lock up the kitchen and throw out the keys until they find a chef who cares. At best, everything our party of four ordered was mediocre. Two of our fish orders were greasy and tasteless. Their breads are doughy and their chowders are no better than those out of a can. Lastly, the Bar is run by ‘stars’ who know what they are doing, however service quality will depend on what you look like and who you are.

Would have given this place 5 stars if the hostess was friendly and helpfully instead of rude and dismissive The bartend mason saved the night he was very easy on the eyes to and was so attentive just overall had great customer service definitely would go back there!

It didn’t start out very well. The drinks came quickly but then… well we eventually received our dinners. The rolls were uninspiring, cold, hard. I only finish one out of boredom from waiting to be served. The salad was uninspiring but OK. I ordered the«Simple Tuna» Just a plain olé grilled tuna steak cooked medium rare. It was delicious. The accompanying potatoes were also delicious. The asparagus was grilled and OK. My wife ordered the steak and proclaimed it excellent. We didn’t order desert but watched as a «Brown Bag» was delivered to a nearby table. It was a brown bag such as one you might use to pack a sandwich for lunch. But, it was made out of chocolate, and filled with ice cream bananas, and who knows what else. Really spectacular. The entire wine list was local wines. Not being a fan of Long Island wines it was disappointing. The waiter was excellent and couldn’t apologize enough for the slow service. Two dinners, 4 drinks, tax and tip came to around $ 150.00 With so many choices for lunch or dinner I probably wouldn’t go back. That’s not because I didn’t like the place. I did. I just didn’t love it. But, If friends wanted to go there I wouldn’t have a problem returning.

This place is really nice especially if you get seated outside on the patio. The food is great here I recommend the fish tacos and coconut macadamia crusted flounder.

Very good cold lobster roll. Nice accompanying salad and good French fries. Nice view although would have liked a bike rack. Only wrong note was the stale bread brought to the table, but the lobster roll bread was excellent.

This place knows fish. I’ve had their macadamia coconut crusted flounder, I’ve had their salmon specials, their fish tacos. Loved them all. We come every summer and are always impressed. When we bring friends with us they tell us the food is amazing so we know it’s not just us who thinks so

The service was fine but the problem was the food. I understand that seafood usually runs more expensive but don’t rob me of the portions either! We were a group of 4 and ordered grilled octopus. I’ve had better and they only gave us 4 measly and tiny pieces. The dish was mostly artichoke and potatoes. The mussels with the Thai curry was really good but upon opening the shells, these mussels were so tiny. For the price they charged us, I expected plumper mussels. The most horrible part was the soft shell crab. I love soft shell crab but they ruined it for me. The crab they served us seemed as if it had already began to grow its shell. It had a chewy/hard texture and was not at all crispy. It felt like eating a wad of plastic. The only good part were the fresh oysters we ordered and the flourless cake for dessert. I don’t know where they are getting their seafood or whose job it is to pick their seafood, but they need to do better because the view and the ambiance is very nice. We were ready to spend money on seafood and ended up feeling robbed. If your portion must be small then beef up on the flavor. If the flavor is lacking then beef up on the portions at least. They had potential.

This place hits it out of the park in all categories. Food. Scenery /View. Service. Outstanding menu which include many fresh seafood items. Seafood Tower was so fresh and had 3 tiers of delight. Conch fritter were amazing. Mussels in key lime coconut broth, to die for. Great beer selection. Wonderful experience which needs to be repeated again and again. This is a «Must Eat» place to go.
