Behavior of the staff occasionally requires managenent. Never in all of my dining experiences have I heard a waitress exclaim out loud«i have a stomach virus». Gross! Her demeanor relected statement. Anyways my omlette was small but tasty. Decent amount of bacon as a side. I will never return here as there is a very unsavory atmosphere(patrons & staff). Place needs a renovation despartely. employees, fixtures, pastry case, crummy booths, stained drop ceiling. Location is great. parking ample and plentiful.

Pick up order. Mac & Cheese tasted like it was made with rotted cheese. Salad veggies were soggy. Turkey and stuffing dinner included what tasted like instant potatoes. The worst part was the obvious pubic hair in the gravy. The best thing I can say about the food is that it tasted bad. The worst part was that it had hair and something else in I could not identify. The owner yelled at me when I called to complain(I was very cordial about it) but I think that he considered himself to be nice. The food has been really crappy the past few years and out of a moment of weakness I made the mistake of trying them again, for the last time. Ever.

Wait staff was very helpful with substitutions and explaining menu items. The gyro was huge and tasty. Steaks sandwich was also a very large portion. Very good!

Experience was fine and my breakfast was good. I simply don’t jive with the diner vibe. Sure, a funky retro hip diner vibe is up my alley but stuck in time diners don’t do it for me. They definitely serve a niche, however. Many patrons appear as if they have been going for years upon years. A familial atmosphere. The menu is like a hundred pages long so there is something for everyone. Can’t complain about my scrambled eggs with cheese, fresh avocados and crispy home fries. It was exactly what I wanted in a convenient location off I-95.

Consistently excellent diner. Whole family has had great experience there. 8 and 4 y.o. Love the breakfast. Coffee is generally decently strong. Service is quick and friendly. They actually will listen and execute your request… I always want my home fries well done and they do it. Again… consistency. We keep coming back.

Best diner around! Have been going here since I was a little girl. The staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh, and it’s very clean. Family owned and operated … and all the pies and yummies are made right here. I highly recommend any of the cheese cakes, or the coconut custard pie. The gyro panini is off the hook, the Greek salad is massive, you can’t go wrong with a burger and fries … The stuffed clams are really great, so is the fried calamari. You can’t go wrong here.

Quick and tasty. Staff was very polite and food came out quickly. My ice coffee and toasted blueberry muffin was delicious. My boyfriend had a sausage and egg wrap with tons of sausge. My blt on rye was also good. Not sure why this place has a low rating. I wanted to bring it up. A great place to stop when on the road!

Worst diner I’ve ever been to. Burnt coffee, cold potatoes, and the omelette I ordered had bacon in it that tasted awful. It ruined the food. My boyfriend ordered eggs Benedict and that was another disappointment. $ 30.00 for food I hardly touched. Leaving now, and still hungry. Avoid. Anyone who said this place is good has never been to a great NY diner. Never again!

Classic Greek Dinner — I would rank this slightly above average. We should all know to stick to breakfast, 2am burgers, club sandwiches and that’s about it. Your in unprotected waters if your thinking about things like pastas, rib eye, lobster etc. don’t let your eyes fool you and stick to the first 3 pages on the menu. I hear the gyro is good but have not tried it. Staff is friendly and welcoming so don’t worry about entering at any time.

I made the mistake of ordering fried clams, which tasted and looked like the ones from the grocery store. Stick with their breakfast and sandwich/salad menu. Waitstaff are pleasant.

Great breakfast. I had challah french toast — creamy in the center and caramelized edges. Almost didn’t need syrup. DH had pastrami omelette. Tasty and served with good home fried potatoes(seemed like pototes were cut from baking potatoes — fried to crunchy edges). Great rye toast! Nice service.

Terrible place. Owner is nasty and can barely speak English… staff isn’t too friendly and the service is terrible. The food is even worse. Ordered scrambies and they were runny. Food is overpriced. Save your money

Went to this lil place while in CT. We arrived to our hotel very late, and this was the only place still serving food. It was pretty decent– typical diner fare– and the staff was great.

Great service, delicious omelets and cannolis. Our party came here around 2am on a Wednesday after a crazy night in the city. Our waiter was not only efficient but also friendly and entertaining. Would recommend to a friend.

Greek diner. Extensive menu choices. Big inside w lots of windows, clean, booths, TVs on, friendly greeting. Great any time of day or nite but gets very busy weekend mornings. Breakfast is good — nice tasty seasoned crunchy home fries, egg white omelets, decent pancakes but not a fan of corn syrup. They serve everything w real butter not fake stuff like many diners now. Excellent chicken souvlaki! The tzatziki isn’t my favorite. Good milk shakes, great grilled cheese, good turkey burgers, very good club sandwiches too. Chicken soup is too salty for me. Always good service– courteous w a smile, happy to get whatever extras you need. Fast– I love that! A real diner is fast as that’s part of the point! Good for groups. Small restrooms. Private parking.

As far as I’m concerned, George and the gang are a delight for the late night crowd. Many of times my party has received treats like cookies and bread for free! Those ginormous saran-wrapped cookies last for days of snackage. Located on exit 19 off of I-95, it’s easily accessible and open round the clock. It is the best late at night when you and your friends have free reign to annoy travelers, long lost friends, hook up buddies, and random teenagers with oldie songs from your booth’s jukebox or new hits from the likes of Justin Bieber. It’s not uncommon to make friends from the other booths. Don’t be shy and you just might have a fun, possibly intellectual conversation of an otherwise uneventful Fairfield county night. Don’t expect some grandiose fru fru meal at a Greek diner! Order some Greek food, ask them what they recommend and they’ll tell it like it is. My friends mainly stick to burgers and fries with tzatziki sauce. If you come starving, definitely try to huge assortment of cakes and cookies. You’ll drool on the display cases after your late night or road tripping festivities.

an ok greek diner, its usually open and the food is usually ok. i have probably been to athena multiple dozens of times — for when i am in the area and don’t want to go to sherwood and circle is too far, athena is a happy medium. its pretty easy to get to off i-95 which is good for those passing through the westport area. the baked stuff always looks good.

The first time I ate here it was about 4AM and nothing else was open, but really enjoyed the massive plate of challah french toast before driving to JFK and dealing with airport food for the next 18 hours. Would have given it a rave review for this trip alone. The second time, I found a dead fly in my salad. They took it back, apologized and said it must have been inside the head of lettuce or something. Asked me if I wanted another salad, I said no. So after the rest of the meal, which was mediocre and shared in a general malaise of disgust(my spinach pie was all right but looked like it had been heated up smooshed in a sandwich grill), they brought us a free slice of cheesecake — which was surprisingly very fresh and delicious. So I wouldn’t pan them *completely,* but I also wouldn’t go back. Or order anything that isn’t thoroughly cooked. It’s dingy inside and has all the«nasty diner» stereotypes down pat. Go to Penny’s(on Black Rock Tpke.) or Circle(further up the Post Road) instead.
