A great deli/​general store, opens at 7 am. They have fresh gourment coffee (try the Yankee Doodle or the Hazlenut) breakfast pizza with bacon, sandwiches, groceries, a small hardware section, wine, gifts and movie rentals as well as the daily papers (local, Wall Street Journal, Daily News, Boston Globe, Boston Herald). They are about a five minute drive from Oceangate Resort so on your first day there stop by and pick up the Boothbay Harbor Register to find out what is going on that week. Also, in August there is the Southport Fire Department Auction, not to be missed!

Homemade Breakfast Pizza! One of the best ways to start the day on this small little island in ME!

Ended up trying the Southport General Store when we took the kids to the beach, just down the road. Because parking at the beach was very limited, I did not want to drive anywhere to go get lunch, so I walked back to Route 27 (only about ½ mile) and was ready to get just anything to eat.
Boy, was I in for a surprise, not only did they have a deli where they made sandwiches, they have Boar’s Head deli meats and an incredible selection of sandwiches from which to choose. You can go to the order counter and fill out a quick form to select from what meats, toppings, spreads, cheeses, and breads you want. Can’t make up your mind what goes together, just make your choice from a good number house specialty sandwiches. All-​in-​all, this will be my «go-​to» place when ever we visit the beach again (which we definitely will).

You gotta love a store that you can go to at 0700 and get a «breakfast pizza» complete with eggs, and sausage toppings. Good olé Green Mountain coffees, and, for later in the day, a decent wine selection and deli case. Local place that real residents and summer folk can all appreciate.
