Great food. Terrible service. With that being said, my husband and I will only order takeout after a few not so pleasant dine in experiences. I almost always order the crunch roll, umai roll, and avocado bomb. I can never go wrong with these three items. They always taste so fresh and very filling. The price is also very reasonable and they offer 15% military discount on Wednesdays!

Yum! This place is dang tasty! The sushi tastes fresh and there are a lot of options. Even my 6 year old finds sushi he likes here. I also recommend any of the noodle dishes too, they are hearty and delicious. Food comes out fast and is reasonably priced. Awesome find.

I’ve had hit and miss food and service. My first time it was great, delicious food and good service. My second time it was really crappy service, the waitress kept playing on her phone, and ignoring the customers, and the food wasn’t as good. The fry oil was old, and it ruined the taste of the chicken katsu. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there, but if someone else wanted to go, I wouldn’t object to eating there again. I hope this helps.

The outside looks a little sketchy and it’s difficult to locate because the sign is worn away. Everyone raves about the avocado bomb but I didn’t actually like it. The rest of the sushi we ordered was fantastic. I subtracted a star because the table we sat at had a lot of food particles on it when we arrived. I would recommend this place.

A wonderful place to go with the family. We ordered the family party meal and it was a great spread. Very delicious; every dish was awesome. The family really enjoyed the meal. A bit modest place but the food is absolutely first class and the waitress is one best I seen, quick and friendly. A must place to visit.

I’ve now tried this place a couple times now both times to go. First time we went it was good food of course got a little cold but other then that no major problems besides blandness of fried rice. The second time we called in a younger male answered and had no knowledge of the menu also just plain seemed uninterested on wanting to take an order once we got there there was an error in our order which we expected with his interest while placing the order the food was cold etc.

I ordered spicy chicken, beef bulgogi, and won ton soup to say the dishes left some flavor to be desired would be an understatement. Although they were not horrible they just lacked flavor. The won ton soup was pretty good even though it is a hard dish to miss on. I would recommend in a pinch but their teriyaki dishes are definitely not umai bento’s forte.

We got take out and ordered the family meal and then the bulgogi bento box and it was all very good. The family meal came with teriyaki, kalbi, yakisoba, California roll, fried rice and katsu chicken. It was more than enough for our family and we all loved it. However, it took a little longer than most teriyaki places, that is the only downfall to this restaurant but other than that, very satisfying! Very good prices as well and a good amount of food. We will definitely return when we are in that area!

Looks are definately decieving when you first pull up. The windows are dark with some neon signs and it looks a little shabby, however, the food is very satisfying and has wonderful flavor. The sushi is VERY good and the other dishes I’ve tried have been good as well. My first visit wasn’t very impressive, the hostess was very slow and frazzled. After I had ordered to go I sat down and the hostess asked me if she’d taken my order already… no less than 15 minutes later. I’d still recommend it and I plan on going back. They also have a stamp card and you get one stamp for every 7.95+ entrée and a free one later.

My opinion of this place has gone down a bit from my last review. I have gone here many times since then and noticed the service has delined a lot. The place is also looking more run down. I am almost never acknowledged when I walk in… basically have to try to get their attention before I can be seated. I can hear this woman, I believe is the owner, always yelling at her servers. One time the lady actually spilt hot soup on a customer and didn’t seem very apologetic. There is duct tape on the seats. Their door to the restaurant has broken/cracked glass that they have neglected to get fixed for probably over a year now. But there is one reason, an important one, that I always come back… the food is always delicious. I can’t give up the addicting sushi or the japchae. When you come here you can expect bad service, ugly worn down atmosphere, and amazing food.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would! The restaurant itself was pretty busy with 75% of the seating taken. The take out was RIDICULOUSLY busy and it was apparent the restaurant was taking care of those orders before the orders at the actual restaurant. We had time to kill so we decided we could try dining in. I came with a friend for a quick dinner because it was nearby his house and his parents recommended the place. We were seated quickly, and then the DRAMA unfolded. The waitress was new and literally knew nothing about the menu. After asking her a few questions, she seemed flustered and bothered so I decided to try and order without fully knowing what the items on the menu were. I ordered a bento with don katsu and gyoza and my friend ordered a couple sushi rolls. After about 30 minutes my bento comes out with regular looking katsu. I thought don katsu was a take from the don buri(my mistake) and I politely told the waitress this wasn’t what I thought it was going to be and I would like to send my dish back /replace the don katsu with something else… literally anything else. The waitress brought over who I believe might be the owners daughter… she was asian and had her hair in a long braid, I didn’t have the pleasure of getting her name. This woman single-handedly gave me the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. She told me they were very busy and they would not take the food back, the previous waitress took the order down correct and that she was«already upset». There were no offers to comp the meal, no offers of a discount, nothing. Just a blank and annoyed stare from someone who obviously didn’t give a damn about the situation. My friend was super hungry and was still awaiting his dish, and this alone prevented me from walking out of the establishment without paying a dime. I looked at her and said, well I don’t want it but since you are forcing me to keep it I guess i’ll try and eat the gyoza… The gyoza was bland and was the worst I have ever eaten. I think a costco frozen pack would have been more appetizing. The katsu was dry and looked overcooked. My friends sushi was mediocre, we have spent many years in hawaii so we know good, fresh sushi and this place was a far cry from the great sushi we are used to. In fact when we went home, I had to eat AGAIN because I was still hungry, not eating most of the bento. I did take the bento home and we fed it to his dogs. Appropriate, as the katsu was dry and inedible for humans. I don’t forsee myself going to spanaway in the near future(thank god) however if I do I would rather go to taco bell or the shady looking bar down the street than subject myself to another dinner here.

Best sushi in town! The quality of fish is amazing and I love the owners. Always delicious and a great experience. I love the umai cucumber roll(no rice, it’s light and tasty) and the lion king roll with baked salmon. I haven’t tried anything I don’t like though!

Super good! My son, father and I went tonight for some dinner. I ordered the Mongolian chicken, son got teriyaki beef and dad got general tsao and it was all good! We all shared a bit with each other. The General tsao at other places is usually pretty bland not spicy just whatever but it had a nice kick, not just spice but flavor as well so I was pleasantly surprised. The Mongolian chicken was very flavorful, had plenty of onions which was nice it will def be a go back place :) it’s a little out of our way, but I’d be willing to go Back for the good service and all;)

I came here twice, by myself. The first time I had veggie yakisoba which was awesome! The service was not so awesome… It took forever for them to serve me and the server was not friendly to me, I felt like an inconvenience. I decided to give it a second try, but the service was not any better. Food was still good though. Overall good food, but bout great service. It might be because I came by myself.

Got there as soon as they open. Ordered the avocado bomb, so delicious! Also ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken. Looks and tastes more like general chicken, which tasted fishy probably due to using old oil yuck!!! If I did go back Id definitely just stick to the sushi.

I’ve been to this place twice in the past two weeks, so obviously it’s pretty good! The old woman that served us was very kind and checked up on us a few times to see if everything was okay, if we needed more water, etc. The pricing is very reasonable & the amount of food served for the bento or any meat is more than a moderate amount. I’ve had the two choice bento and salmon skin roll. With the two choice bento, you get to pick two choices of meat/sushi that comes with salad and rice. I chose the spicy chicken teriyaki and California roll. It met my expectations. The salmon skin roll wasn’t as fancy looking as I’m used to with other places. My boyfriend had general tao chicken which he enjoyed and the dragon roll last week. The dragon roll looked good! We also had miso soup. The taste was perfect but the seaweed wasn’t all that and the tofu was so tiny!
