Service has really went down hill. You never know what will come out of the kitchen, it’s different every time, and the waitress blames it «on the cook». Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, I’m writing this as it goes on 45 minutes waiting on our breakfast.

When the restaurant first opened the food was excellent and the service was great. However since then the service and food has gone down. When I spoke to them about it their response was«we are Sorry» but no question about what specific was bad. This will be our last time to the restaurant. The service is poor, everyone is standing around, there is no organization, multiple orders have been wrong. We have been here an hour and our coffee has been refilled once and we still have no breakfast.

Absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and I always have tons of leftovers. Pancakes are to die for!

Typically, the food arrives at the table, and I force everyone to pause while I photograph the food in its pristine state. This did not occur here during our breakfast feast. Once it was on the table, there was no hesitation to dig in. This place has a more comprehensive feel than Wingers did. It’s essentially the same place, plus breakfast and a few other menu items for lunch/dinner, sans the free lame-ass popcorn(good riddance, IMO). Service was friendly and quick, while covering pretty much all bases. It was Halloween, so the whole crew was themed out in pirate gear. They all seemed to be having a good time, which translated to a lighter mood overall. Our server was great; no complaints at all. The breakfast menu is decent, offering favorites and specialties alike. The most interesting menu item for me was the Trash Hash — shredded hash browns mixed with mashed potatoes, onions, peppers, etc., then fried in loose ‘patties.’ It was better than good. I loved the buttermilk ricotta pancakes — very fluffy but substantial, with nice, slightly sweet flavor. They absorbed the butter and syrup well, which means they were cooked perfectly. One warning: they are huge. Mine accompanied perfect, thick-cut slices of bacon, scrambled eggs and a sausage patty that I only cut in half because the middle was a little raw. I didn’t miss it — it was a whole lotta food. I devoured it(except for the aforementioned sausage). Hubs went for the ham steak and eggs over-easy, with wheat toast. He said every aspect was perfect — and he’s hard to please with over-easy eggs cooked correctly. It’s not achieved often. His silence spoke volumes. No breakfast review of mine would be complete without a mention of the coffee. It was satisfactory. It wasn’t bad, nor was it good enough for me to ask what kind it was. They seemed just a tiny bit stingy with it, however — only offering one refill. Additionally, the tiny creamer pitcher was filled about 1⁄23 of the way full. I used it in one cup, asked for a refill and the same amount was delivered. Turned out to be sufficient, since I only saw one coffee refill. Pricing was extremely fair — we spent exactly what we would have at Village Inn or Café 300. The food was much better than VI, and different, but more comparable to 300. W is a nice option for a quicker South Valley breakfast. And… they’re open on Sunday.

After an exhausting adventure that included an over turned semi and an impromptu detour through a dirt road Canyon, we found ourselves in Spanish Fork and starving. We looked on Unilocal for a restaurant but came up with nothing promising, but then we spotted The W Diner and happily turned in. I don’t know for certain, but I get the feeling that this place is either owned by wingers, or it is something that wingers is turning into. Either way, it has a wingers feel, but now with breakfast. We ordered the Trash Hash($ 8.99 + $ 1.00 for hollandaise sauce) and the Loaded Chicken($ 12.99 + $ 1.00 to sub a salad for the mashed potatoes). Both of the dishes were good. We were starving and it was plenty enough to fill us. The hollandaise sauce was tasty and a good addition. The marinade on the chicken made an otherwise bland skinless breast juicy and flavorful. I think my dish was overpriced, but our other dish was reasonable. I happened to notice that they offer fried twinkies, so there’s that. Overall I’m giving it 4 stars because Spanish Fork desperately needs a good breakfast joint and now they have it.
