I was looking for a hair salon that was moderately priced and had great reviews. I looked on google and this salon had pretty good reviews so I thought why not. I was a walk in and the receptionist, who was very nice, said the only stylist that was there was busy but she had someone to call in. The girl arrived very quick. I thanked her for coming in and we got to talking about what I wanted. My hair at the time was past my lower back. I said I wanted it cut to about 2 inches longer then shoulder length. I showed her some pictures of what I liked too. She shampooed my hair and mentioned that when someone with long hair wants a shorter cut, to put it in a pony tail, cut it to a more manageable length and«style» form there. I mentioned to her that I read reviews on Google and this was recommended, that I’ve had stylists before ruin my hair and I’m hoping to find a stylist I can stick with. When she got done«styling» my hair… The length was at my ear lobes! I said, «Oh that looks a little different then the pictures,» There was really no point in complaining because nothing can be done for hair being cut too short. I’m not sure where the miscommunication was but I ended up with something I didn’t expect nor want. I paid for my service and left. I know that hair stylist have good days and bad days. It’s unfortunate this was a bad day.

I just found the gift certificate that my husband bought for me to Essenza back in Sept. 2011!!! I’d been looking for it, but couldn’t find where I’d stored it. We just moved it and I finally came across it. I let Darcy know that I had an old gift certificate and asked if she’d honor it. She was awesome about it. Tomorrow, I’m scheduling an appointment to use the balance of the gift certificate! Woohoo. I wasn’t really sure she’d go for it since it was 4 years and 4 months old already. Thanks so much, Darcy! I really appreciate it.

I feel so welcomed whenever I walk into this salon and spa. They have countless services to offer, I get my hair done here by amazing Sarah, there are not too many hairstylists that can tackle my crazy curls! Sarah R. is a talented master stylist that is really fun to talk with. I get my eyebrows done by Darcy who is the owner and she is also really pleasant and professional. I recommend this hair salon and spa to all my friends.

I love my manicurist and have for 10 years. Essenza is very nice and inviting. Only complaint is that there are no hooks in the restrooms to hang up your purse. Seriously it’s mostly women who patronize this day spa and I assume most if not all of them carry a purse and don’t want to set it on a dirty bathroom floor, regardless of how clean the bathroom may be.

Really enjoyed this place. Was my first time going there the other day from a living social coupon, I got a microdermabrasion for the first time and the owner Darcy was great, I get to go next month for another great price!

I would definitely come back here, I got a microdermabrasion and a peel and had great results. I’ve come back a handful of times to get the peel and the results just get better. I have had peels elsewhere and have never had such dramatic results. I will admit the service does seem rushed, but I think that’s just her personality. I like the Spa and results are what matter.

I was disappointed with my experience with Essenza. I was given a $ 50 gift certificate towards any service for my birthday and was hoping to get a relaxing facial. First of all making an appointment was a huge pain. I called at different times of the day and could not get a receptionist on the line. I left a voicemail and my call was returned by Darcy, the owner who told me the best time to call and make appointment. When I did finally get someone on the phone I was told I would have to call the Esthetician directly who just happened to be the owner, Darcy. Sigh. After playing phone and text tag we decided on a date and time for what I thought was a facial. I arrived early for my appointment knowing I would most likely need to fill out paperwork as a first time client. The place was clean and the receptionist was very nice and friendly. My appointment time was for 2:30pm and I was taken back to the room at approximately 2:37pm. Darcy seemed very rushed and asked me what we were doing for my appointment. I told her that I had made an appointment for a facial and she said that she thought I was coming in for a peel or microderm. I explained to her that I had wanted a relaxing facial and that I do not like peels or microderm due to my sensitive skin. She then proceeded to tell me that if I wanted to do something other than a peel or microderm that I would have to reschedule and that facials ‘do nothing’ and are really just for relaxation. Although I insisted I wanted a relaxing facial she told me that I would either have to get a peel or microderm or make another appointment. Reluctantly I agreed to get a Vitamin C peel that she assured me would be gentle on my skin. The peel was fine, but the treatment was anything but relaxing. Darcy didn’t look over my questionnaire, didn’t even ask me questions about my skin routine or look over my skin at all. She instructed me to get up on the table which was covered in a older looking quilt. She kept the very bright overhead light on the whole time so it was shining right in my eyes. She briefly washed my face and then put on the serum and mask for the peel. She then proceeded to set an egg timer for 7 minutes and puttered around the room seemingly getting ready for her next appointment. Between the ticking of the clock and the egg timer it felt like a very long, aggravating 7 minutes. After the 7 minutes were up she removed the masque, moisturized my skin and I was done. I was taken back at 2:37 and was out the door by 2:55pm and the majority of time was spent waiting for the masque. Definitely not the relaxing experience I was hoping for. I would NOT recommend Essenza for anyone wanting skincare services. It is so disappointing that the owner would provide such poor customer service and does not bode well for the rest of her business.

Just look at my hair in my Unilocal photo and you’ll see why I love this place. My stylist since 2007 is Ashley Flock, and she does a superior job with my thick, wavy, African American hair. I love the cut, color, and texture of my hair under her excellent care. It’s never been this healthy. Ashley is always ready for my appointment when I arrive, I never have to wait more than 5 minutes. She also has the best personality on earth, so I look forward to my appointments because I know I will look and feel better after spending time with her. It doesn’t take her long to make me look good, either! I don’t know about the other spa services, but the place is well set up, beautiful inside with separate rooms for manicures, another room for pedicures, spa treatments, hair stylists, and Ashley has her own private room where she serves that delicious single serve coffee, and tea if you prefer. Please Unilocalers, don’t take up too much of her time, because I still need to fit my appointments in. Since she was 11, my 12 year old daughter has been getting her hair cut here, too. It has never been more easy to manage. I wish I had taken her sooner, because the style of the cut Ashley gave her decreased the time I have to spend doing her hair every day. Amazing!

I found this salon through a groupon and is the best one I’ve purchased! I love Darcy who is the owner. I’ve only had a facial but my fiancé said the girl that did massage was great too. You can tell she takes pride in her business.

I went in for a microdermabrasion and felt like I was given the«drive thru» service, by the owner no less. Granted, I purchased a Groupon, but if you’re trying to drum up business, you would think you would want to make a good first impression. I’ve had microderms in the past and although they are not really a facial, I always felt like I was a little pampered. My appointment was for 12:30 and I wasn’t taken back until 12:35. I bet the technician spent maybe 15 minutes total on me. I truly felt like she was rushing. Before when I’ve had these done, the aesthetician always gave me a hand and arm massage and the whole session lasted about an hour. I was not impressed and will not be back.

So, I had beautiful long, healthy hair, almost down to my waist. I had been growing for 5 years. Just moved to the area and wanted a «new» cut. Not a «lets take 8 inches off haircut», but a «lets take an inch or two off and make a sexy style» which is what I requested. Well, I now have«mom» hair and have been crying for days. NOT what I asked for, looks like my hair is going to be in a pony tail for years to come. Worst experience EVER.
