The best local Coffee shop. Great coffee and pastries, smoothies and juices. Really nice, relaxed atmosphere with a few tables outside so you can enjoy the sun.

Specialty coffee… in Sparks! I will plan my route just to include lighthouse in my day. Stop drinking burnt beans from the big guys and go support local, knowledgeable, quality roasters. I routinely order their light roast black and it’s delicious every time. To top it all off, every barista I’ve encountered has been truly friendly. Check them out!

I’ve hit the jackpot with this coffee shop! The barista/cashier/server was super sweet and welcoming! I ordered an iced coffee and a cookie, both were amazing. The interior very comfortable. Give this place a «shot»! I loved everything about this place and I will definently be coming back!

My hubby’s favorite coffee shop. I have been here many a time. It is like having extended family at lighthouse. Everyone greets you by your first name and genuinely are concerned how you are doing. The best part is the coffee, Todd roasts it fresh every day. They get the bagels and danishes from rounds bakery. If you get a chance, try the quiche, Todd’s wife Melanie makes it and it is delicious.

It was our first time here and it was amazing! We will be back here in the very near future. We were looking for a coffee shop that’s close to where we live(it’s only a mile and a half from us) that isn’t a big corporation like Dunkins. The atmosphere is really calm, cute, and comfortable. The prices are average — not cheap but definitely affordable for a coffee shop. But the drinks are SOGOOD. But my boyfriend ordered a simple iced hazelnut latte and it was so smooth and creamy. I ordered a seasonal special drink — blackberry lavender white mocha — and it was also creamy. It’s rich but very tasty! Love this place already!

Great Almond Milk Latte!!! Delicious gluten free pastries. They have a drive thru window which comes on handy with a newborn. The line always moves fast and the staff /owner is really nice. So nice to have a healthier NONSTARBUCKS option in Sparks.

Met a friend here for coffee and breakfast. I really like the atmosphere. It is cozy with church benches and definitely does not have a chain coffee house feel. I had a vanilla latte which was tasty. For breakfast I had the veggie quiche. WOW! The quiche is a must have here. Flaky crust, tons of veggie and the egg wasn’t over done and dry. Would definitely return!

Finally made it here and wow was it worth it. We ordered 3 drinks(mocha, hot chocolate and a caramilla. All three drinks were very good, but I must say that the mocha(not mine) was the best tasting of the three. We also ordered two bagels(jalapeño/cheddar and blueberry) which are from my favorite muffin. They were wonderfully fresh and tasty. The staff made us feel very welcome and took the time to explain their drinks and food products, even though there were others behind us, sorry! The prices for the two medium espresso drinks were cheaper than Grandes at Starbucks, and tasted so much better! This location is just down the street from our house and will be our new coffee shop with Starbucks being a stop out of convenience more than anything else

Delicious coffee, friendliest employees, owned by a wonderful family, and a drive thru! Honestly there is nothing not to love about this place. I first started going here once my daughter’s babysitter moved to Wingfield Springs, it has quickly become a weekly treat. Now that I’m moving just up the street, I’m thinking a bi-weekly treat now ;)

Great selection of small batch high quality in-house-roasted coffee’s. Cool bar area with different brewing options, pour over, siphon, french press, espresso. Was treated like a celebrity when I walked in and felt at home right away. Customer service was amazing! Props to Jen and the other employees. Can’t wait to go back and spend some time enjoying their amazing coffee!

Great little coffee shop. Today was the first time I have visited. I am glad I did, the staff was all very nice. The menu was simple yet full of options. I had hot coco(amazing). Was there to visit with a friend. Great place to do that. I liked how clean it was, the roasting thing going on in the corner was cool too. I did not investigate it so don’t know what they where doing, did look interesting though. I recommend this little coffee shop!

I thought I would update my review since it was outdated and short. Lighthouse coffee is my second home. Todd, melanie, joel, hannah and caleb are family. Lighthouse coffee reminds me of that old show Cheers. Everyone knows you, they great you by your name and are genuinely friendly. If you did not know I am a coffee junkie, took me awhile to come to grips and realize it, but yes I love my coffee. I roast my own on occasion, and just recently bought a high end espresso maker. You are probably like saying, so get to the coffee review. Well I just wanted to share that when i go get coffee it is like a classroom. Todd has taught me to pull a good shot, how to froth milk and how to angle the milk pitcher so you do not get to much air. Most owners will not do that, because they are afraid they will lose business. With lighthouse and Todd, it is a appreciation of the coffee and process. It is educating there customers on organic coffee and fair trade. It truly is old school coffee, and I love it. I wish school could have been this fun.

What a great spot. It is nice to see a warm and friendly coffee house in suburban Sparks. The décor is warm and inviting. The couches are cozy and the service is friendly. We were warmly greeted and thanked for our business which is a nice touch. We ordered the Caramilla and split a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was warm and fresh and HUGE! So yummy! The coffee drink was awesome. Much better than Starbucks I must say. I really hope this place sticks around. It is a fantastic addition to Sparks.

Ah… the lighthouse. Such a symbol of life and danger. What an amazing metaphor for how our lives are tenuously in the balance between the danger of being crashed on the hard realities of what life throws at us and the safety and adventure of the open waters. And with that we have the dark waters… are they safe? Will they get your heart racing and your palms sweating… What the heck am I talking about? This is a dang coffee shop! I think I may have gotten a little taste of what it feels like for a junkie to get their fix. That cap was hands down no question about it the best cap I have ever laid my lips to. Bold, smooth and just so… so…aaaaah. They have a nice set up of bar and tables and the smell of roasting coffee! It’s not as comfy as I was picturing a «lighthouse» coffee place to be, but no biggie. This place could be on the side of the road in a barn for all I care. That coffee was better than excellent. Service was nice too. They were pretty slammed the whole time, especially with the drive through. PS. Stupid person with your dog in the car… DON’T freak out my barista with that sneaky bark attack ever again! Ok it wasn’t the barista… it was me. Thankfully the coffee hadn’t gone through yet.

I love this coffee shop! Not only is it close to my house, it’s local and although a little pricey it’s worth every penny. I was getting the vanilla chai tea but I tried their blended Carmel coffee with soy and it’s SO good! I also have their quiche all the time, either sausage spinach or the Canadian bacon and green onion. Both are excellent! Great place with very friendly service! They also have a stamp card. After 9 coffees, 10th is free!

People often say that there aren’t any good local coffee houses in Sparks… Only chains and a few drive up coffee huts. Well they are dead wrong! They do have a drive through but it doesn’t do this place justice. From the outside the place is nondescript, with just a couple of banners for signage. it’s located in a generic strip mall. But, when you walk in you will see that looks can be deceiving. I was there about 7:30 am on a Wednesday and it was bustling, but not stressed and busy looking like some coffee places in the morning. There were people bellied up to the bar, hanging out, visiting, drinking coffee and looked like they had been there for hours and would be there for hours. There were more people chatting on the burlap coffee sack upholstered chairs sitting around tables that once were large industrial spools. It was very comfortable and laid back. The owner was singing out loud while he worked and visited with customers. The two young ladies at the counter were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The specials are written on sort of their version of a reader board, it’s butcher paper on a roll that can be torn off for the next message. I had just come from the gym and hadn’t eaten breakfast yet so I ordered an iced passion fruit tea which was wonderful and the house made Canadian bacon quiche. I’m a sucker for good quiche so I was excited. This one was light and fluffy, just the right amount of cheese and flavor, the shredded potatoes in it were a nice touch. It was warmed up for me perfectly. The owner told me his wife makes all the quiches herself with organic ingredients and potato crusts. No flour. It was a delicious version and I’m now craving it again as I write. When I was done he came to my table to make sure I was happy with everything. Um, yeah. I will definitely be back. As far as coffee goes, it looks impressive but so far I have ordered the chai tea latte and the passion tea the times I’ve been there so I can’t speak for the coffee yet. FYI. You can order whole quiches to go. For $ 8.95 according to the butcher paper reader board.

You know you take your coffee seriously when you’re choosing more than just how many cups to make that morning. As it turns out there’s a whole lot more to it than that, and Todd, Melanie, and Joel are just the people to teach you all about it! Walking into Lighthouse, you’ll immediately notice that you’re in a special place. First you’ll notice the openness of the space, and the truly tranquil atmosphere. This is a reflection of the family, who are kind hearted, down to earth, and appropriately proud of the place and space they’ve created. Spend a few minutes talking to any of them and you’ll understand exactly what I mean. The larger tables are made from recycled industrial spools, the chairs are covered in old canvas coffee bags, and the walls are lined with comfy couches. My favorite furnishing though, has to be the real coffee bar you can sit at to watch the baristas in action! But the piece de resistance is the small round red cylinder prominently positioned in the main area. Yep. It’s a micro roaster, and when it’s rolling the smell is intoxicating! Lighthouse roasts micro batches to their exacting specs to extract the best flavors from each varietal. But it’s not enough to know how to roast coffee, because its the brewing that brings it all out. Fortunately Lighthouse has this down pat! Todd is a coffee geek from way back in the day, and here he gets to embrace it daily, extolling the virtues of the reverse siphon, chemex, or any one of the many other brewing methods practiced here. So whether you’re after a lavender vanilla latte or just the perfectly rich, dark and complex cup of joe, Lighthouse has got you covered, with a healthy dose of info that’ll have you appreciating your coffee all that much more.

I am fairly new to the world of coffee, or at least the local, quality stuff. Michael T. and I just had a meeting here the other morning because we kept reading the rave reviews and had never been. Even though it’s a little out of the way for us both, it was definitely worth the drive. Lighthouse Coffee is bright, clean, comfortable, casual, and above all, just an incredibly welcoming space. Walking through the doors, I was greeted enthusiastically and genuinely by Todd, the owner. Right off the bat, I knew I liked him. He is warm, friendly, and seriously cares about your drink, as do all the other wonderful workers. Drinks aren’t pumped out like they are elsewhere; be prepared to wait a few minutes. This isn’t a bad thing. It just actually means the drink you are getting is being created with care and attention to detail. I ordered a Cappuccino, which was wonderful. It had just a hint of sweetness and was the perfect drink for me. I was also able to try a Vanilla Latte, which was delicious as well! This is definitely sweeter than the Cappuccino, so keep that in mind depending on what your preference is. I loved them both. Michael T. ordered a coffee that was made in the reverse siphon, which was an amazingly cool process to watch! I was able to taste his as well and I enjoyed it. As I hinted at previously, Todd really does care about his customers and creates relationships with them. Even on a Wednesday morning, the place was fairly busy and he knew almost everyone that walked through the door by name. Instead of just making the coffee or asking you if it’s okay and then moving on, he actually engages in conversation and really wants to know what you think. I like when business owners ACTUALLY care and don’t just put on a show. Lighthouse Coffee is doing things right. There are a variety of ways they brew coffee and it’s interesting and fun to watch. The coffee is fantastic. But you know what really sold me? The service and atmosphere. I walked in and instantly felt like family. Now that’s a place I’m going to return to again and again.

Its façade is nondescript. I couldn’t even tell you what color it is on the outside. But it’s a little like waking up in Oz when you walk through the door. Where the world was once a cold, sepia toned blur – inside is an aromatic, indie-music filled haven for coffee folk. Yes! A roasted bean refuge from the coffee chains for people who value real coffee made by real people. As I write this review I am drinking an iced Americano – and it is damned good. The espresso was pulled beautifully, mixed perfectly and is at that nonpareil temp for caffeine delivery to my jonesing brain cells. This place has a very family feel and they make you feel welcome when they greet you at the counter. It is decorated beautifully and I am obsessed with their little coffee roasting machine set up in a corner of the shop. Every thing is plainly advertised. Coffee drinks, smoothies, quiche, bagels. No need for hidden menus(coughs* Starbucks!)… Though I’ve enjoyed this place immensely I should mention that I did witness one of the weirdest happenings ever as I sat enjoying my coffee. It was one of those things you think you will never have to experience. I heard a gentleman(if you can call him that) order a pat of butter in his coffee. Butter. It happened. This is not made up. I don’t approve of butter in your coffee. If I hear you order butter or God forbid, Sriracha(dumb fad), in your coffee; I will judge you. Make no mistake you won’t be judged by me alone – you will be judged by our maker. When the rapture comes you will be one of the left behind. In fact it is my belief that Bernie Madoff and Saddan Hussein will be raptured before people who put butter in their coffee. And you creamer people are suspect as well. I’m joking, obviously. But you probably will spend eternity in some kind of vanilla hazelnut purgatory. I believe that this place is better than the chain coffee places for several reasons but the main reason is quite simple. Mom & Pop places have better quality in their service and product because they’re not driven by shareholders looking for a return on investment at all costs to the clueless consumer just looking for some decent coffee. These last bastions of privately owned mom and pops have pride of ownership and it shows in their product and service. Whoa! My apologies for the diatribe. Did I mention this place has really good coffee?
