I hate to leave such a bad review but in all honestly I’m leaving this hoping to help out the owner. Being a local business I want to see it succeed but from the second we walked in to the end of the visit I sadly only see this business going downhill. My boyfriend and I planned on grabbing lunch in the shopping center and when we say this place we thought it looked new so we wanted to give it a try. It looked new because of the cheap temporary looking vinyl sign hanging up. Come to find out later it really isn’t that new at all. We go inside and it’s pretty quiet, considering we waited way to long to eat we were starving and thought it would be perfect they were not busy cuz we could get our food fast! To our surprise it was the exact opposite. We each ordered a half a sandwich and half salad, I chose the maddie, with a house green salad, my boyfriend chose the wunder veggie, with a half wedge salad. No exaggeration to make 2 half sandwiches and half salads it took the girl working 20 minutes to make. She was the only person working but a cold sandwhich doesn’t take that long to make. I can’t imagine what would happen if they actually had a line. On top of that the girl was very bland. She was not rude at all but by no means personable. While making my boyfriends wedge sandwhich, she pulled out a head of lettuce(from Wal-Mart, not local like they claim) and she held the open head of lettuce between her inner forearm and shirt while getting a knife. Not very sanitary to have someone’s lunch on your shirt. Another thing she did that was not very sanitary was in the middle of making our order she stopped to ring up a person who has apparently ate but didn’t pay yet. After ringing him up she grabbed the bread I chose, set it on the still not wiped down cutting board and then says out loud«oh I better wash my hands». Well you already touched my bread… and I worked in a food serving job for 6 years, it’s ok sometimes you forget but don’t point it out or say it out loud to a customer, just do it. When she came back she picked the bread back up off of the dirty cutting board, set it on the counter and then wiped the cutting board off before setting it back down. Good think my boyfriend and I aren’t germ freaks! Also no wonder it took so long to make, everything she pulled out of the prep containers was not prepped. Example being on my salad there were cucumbers, normally shouldn’t they already be sliced in the prep container? she pulled out a half of a cucumber from the pre container and sliced it for my salad and put the rest back. Something I also noticed while she made my sandwhich was that she was very stingy with the ingredients. She put one pickle slice and 3 tiny pepperchini slices. I later noticed my meat and cheese was skimmped too. One slice of cheese and once slice of salami. After sitting down finally to eat, my boyfriend realized that his sandwhich was missing half of the ingredients it was supposed to have. She had forgotten the cheese and sprouts, so his veggie sandwhich was literally bread, a slice of tomatoe, avocato(that took her forever to slice) hummus, and some spinich. I felt so bad for my boyfriend I offered to nicely let her know she forgot two main ingredients but by that point their was a group of 3 new people ordering and let be honest, we would probably be waiting at least 40 minutes til she would finish with them. Point being both of our sandwhiches were basically bread! I don’t know about you guys but if I’m gonna go get a sandwhich instead of making it at home, it better have a lot of stuff inside. Something else that was strange was that they had no drinks but a cup of water available and a couple cans of soda. Their soda, and ice team maker were«broken». My boyfriend and I sat their discussing how they must have opened pre-maturely and were still working out kinks. But I then saw a new paper articles framed on the wall about the place, so I went and read it. I find out it’s really not very new at all. The owner had previously opened the togos franchise, and it was pulled from him/didn’t work out(is what I got from the article). So he opened his own sandwhich place. The article only deterred me more. If a sandwhich making franchise, where you are told exactly how to succeed, didn’t work, why would you think doing it on your own would. The decorations in the place confused me too. Not that that ever really matters especially if the food is awesome. But it was interesting to see 2 wall decals in the place stating the same thing. «Family and friends gather here. Eat. Drink. Be merry.» Well first off that phrase is referring to drinking alcohol, but that’s not the point… This place didn’t even have regular drinks available to start! Bottom line is we will never go back to this place again. After all of that it was overpriced for what we got. We left almost speachless. And we are not people that complain or would ever be rude. We almost just feel bad at how h

I hate to leave such a «meh» review, but that’s just honestly how I felt about my experience. I got the Laird on dutch crunch. But it didn’t seem like dutch crunch or compared to the dutch crunch at ricks deli, it just wasn’t up to par. I have something called lock jaw or TMJ. Anyway if I chew on things that are too hard or chewy my jaw pops and it’s really painful. Worse case scenario it locks shut. I had a really hard time biting into the the sandwich because the meat was so rough. The fresh mozzarella was probably the only thing I really enjoyed aside from the fact everything was sliced fresh. The sandwiche was extremely dry. Because of all of the above listed factors, I didn’t finish the other half of my sandwich. Service wise I wasn’t really impressed either. They weren’t rude they just weren’t very personable and they were a little slow with the process. Drink wise they only had bottled water, or 3 different canned sodas. In short, I’m not quite sure I would return.

I work in the shopping center where The LunchBox is located, so I was very excited to see a new sandwich shop opening up. I am a huge sandwich fan and I love togos even though the one that was previously located at the same spot wasn’t great. Looking at their menu I was very eager to try the lunchbox out and was excited for something other than subway. I pulled up and I wasn’t even sure if it was open looking from the outside in. I walked in and there was no music playing, no décor and the atmosphere was very blah.(this being a few months after they opened) The gal behind the counter seemed pretty chill but wasn’t very friendly or even smiling. I would have ordered the«JT» which consists of cream cheese and your choice of 3 other cheeses because I LOVE cheese. But I saw the Wunder Veggie which has hummus, avocado, sprouts, cheese and veggies and thought how delicious that looked so I ordered that instead. In the middle of my sandwich being made I was made aware that they were out of sprouts and immediately I was bummed because I would probably have went with my other choice. There was an insane amount of hummus put on the sandwich but a scarce amount of everything else. I paid the $ 7 for my sandwich and left to eat back at work where the hummus had exploded out of the sandwich and was everywhere. All in all, the sandwich was mediocre for the price and I probably will only go back to try the«JT» sometime… maybe.

I really want to like this place but I just can’t based on the OIL sandwich I just received. I ordered a turkey on wheat — veggies were not the best I’ve seen but were decent. I said I wanted the oil/vinegar, salt/pepper that was offered and she poured the oil over the entire top layer of the sandwich — did not do the same with the vinegar or salt/pepper. I have never eaten a sandwich I felt was greasy and was not happy. I really want to support a locally owned sandwich shop in my neighborhood but I’m going to have to keep looking.

Very tasty sandwiches. Boars head brand deli meats which are really high end and tasty. Prices are a bit high but the quality was very good. They usually only have one person working which slows the process down a bit. Still this place is worth the trip.

I went here for lunch and the owner happened to be there. He was very friendly and passionate about using local products for his sandwich creations which is a great find in the sparks area. I ordered the meatball sub and it was delicious. I would definitely bring my family here.

I went here with a coupon for $ 15, which they took, no problem. I was a big fan of the Togo’s that was here before, and was hoping this place would be at least as good. While the quality of the ingredients was high, I was just unimpressed. I ordered a salad, my husband a sandwich, and we got a kids meal for my daughter. Everything was fine, but just fine. They made a lot of mistakes in my order, seemingly mixing up two different types of salad and giving me a little bit from each, so it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I got the impression they would have fixed it, but I was hungry and it was almost LO’s nap time, so I didn’t bother. I also felt like it was a lot of money! Actually, they overcharged at first and we had to get a bit of a refund, but even after the coupon we ended up spending like 17 dollars, meaning the whole cost was just under $ 30 for the three of us. I can get a lot more at other places for that much, and as a girl who likes a bargain, that was a big downside for me. I’m willing to pay for better quality, but again, I felt like everything was just«okay.» I didn’t hate it, and I might go back and try one more time, but in general I think there are better sandwich shop choices around.

I tried this place for lunch today. Ordered the turkey breast on Dutch crunch. I thought it was quite good and a pretty good value and I got 10% off just for checking in. They also have a 20 for 10 deal but I didn’t spend that much. For my sandwich chips and a drink it was around $ 10. Meat, cheese and toppings were good I found the bread to be a bit dry and a little day old tasting. They also have different flavored mayonnaises which is a nice change. The service was good, very friendly and personable. I would definitely return!

This place is locally owned so I thought I’d give it a try. Formerly TOGOs which I’ve never had. Apparently the owner is in the process of trying to open another location inside the Discovery Museum… if I over heard correctly. On our Saturday lunch visit the service was great. I purchased a Unilocal deal as I was pulling up to the place and for some reason always anticipate attitude or rudeness while using a «coupon», but it was all good. They honored it with no problem at all. The two young girls that were working at the time were very laid back. It wasn’t busy at all so they rushed to help us. My wife and I both ordered the lunchbox sandwich on Dutch crunch and some«Dirty» bagged potato chips and our son got a ham and cheese. The sandwiches were ok but really nothing special. The contents seemed fresh but something was off. The only thing that stood out was the basil infused mayonnaise they use. Although this is a decent lunch option, I’d probably rather eat at port of subs. On our visit, I noticed that the place could have used a good cleaning. There was a few dirty tables and near the soda machine the floor was soaked and sticky. If it was busy I would understand but it was really slow, someone should have been on top of that. If the Unilocal deal is still available I’ll probably try them one more time but if nothing wows me it’s likely that I won’t be back.

I echo what reviewer Erin J. posted about this place. I really wanted to like this place too — hoping I found a new hidden gem. I live in Sparks and am not going to drive to Deli Towne on my lunch break. Right now my favorite place is Mr. Pickles. This place didnt really hold a candle to it. I’m giving it a 3 star raiting because the basil mayo was quite tasty and a good change from regular dressing. Here is my Pro & Con List PROS — Locally owned — Generous portions of meat — Nice owner — Basil Mayo was nice CONS — They were out of smokey provolone — Out of alot of stuff actually(heard them tell other customers) — Pepperchini’s were whole, not sliced I didnt really get the whole«Large portions of meat» feeling from this place. You get more meat at Mr. Pickles. I also dont agree with the«nice array of toppins» — quite honestly they didnt have as much variety as many places did and I had to request that my bannana peppers be sliced instead of whole. All in all they were nice people, but I think for the money I’d rather go to Mr. Pickles. It’s hard to duplicate Mr. Pickles at home and I could totally make the sandwhich that I spend over $ 7.00 on at home for much cheaper.

Went in to The Lunch Box for a quick lunch. I did purchase a 20 $ deal for 10 $. My turkey sandwich was wonderful. Filled with fresh meat and cheese as well as fresh veggies. The price was very fair and my service was great. I was also pleased to hear the owner really tries to buy everything local. :) No complaints here. It was clean and welcoming. I will be returning again.

Yuck! I will never go to another place without reading Unilocal reviews. Correction I will not try a new place without Unilocaling it first. I ordered a turkey and provolone sandwich without tomatoes and somehow still ended up with tomato seeds there. It it too much to ask. To top that off they totally skimped on the turkey. They did however manage to fill the sandwich up with lettuce. Seriously? Not impressed.

Food was good but what grossed me out was that the people making the sandwiches weren’t waring any aprons. So the guy leans forward and reaches for something and his loose T shirt touches the sandwich he was making for me. This did not only happen once but both times I was there. This would have been avoided by an apron.

My husband came here to grab us a quick dinner expecting a Togos to still be here. He decided to give it a try anyways. Bad idea. I barely got any meat in my sandwich at all! I honestly had one slice of thin turkey and two large slices of salami on each half. Ridiculous. I seriously felt like I was eating only bread. While the bread was good, I wanted more than bread. They forgot pickles in my sandwich as well. I wish Togos was still in this location. We will be going to Deli Town instead from now on… Or just make our own sandwiches. Don’t waste your time or money going here.

Below average customer service when I went there they do not have a very very big selection I also wanted extras such as jalapenos and cucumbers on my salad and they did not have any of those either as well as bring out of half the things needed for my friends sandwich. I frequent this place because they do have a very cheap and large-size portion salad however is very plain and very bland. Every time I get a sandwich it is extremely soggy! Like bread falling apart almost impossible to eat with your hands kind of soggy. This is even when I ask go no oil vinegar and has happened on all breads. for the past three or four times, I’ve given it a go and they overcharge me on tax, 15%!! When I called to complain and make it noted, he said sorry it’s been fixed. The owner did the sales pitch to us about fresh and local however we have been there when he gets back from Walmart. The food is average nothing special and not my first choice. Not my first choice way to over priced for a basic item

I decided to stop in for lunch on Monday after hearing they were locally owned and use local ingredients. They don’t have a sign up yet, but they had printed paper signs all over the window and front door claiming they were open. For a lunch hour they were fairly quiet. There was only one other person eating there. The place was empty. Not just of people, but of décor. I attribute that to the newness of their shop. Staff offered smiles, but weren’t overly welcoming. The food was okay, definitely fresh, portions nicely sized. I had The Laird, which I was told was one of their popular sandwiches, on a dutch crunch roll with a drink and chips. The total was around $ 15. Really, the place is just your average sandwich shop.

I’m always trying to find a sandwich shop near my house that’ll compare to DeliTowne or Braidos(my two favorite sandwich shops, that happen to be across town). I really wanted to like this sandwich shop, but it just didn’t compare. I would say it’s a solid 2.5 — 3 star shop… just average. I hate to say this, but I would probably pick Port of Subs over The Lunch Box if I was in the area. PROS — Local ingredients(or so they say). — Locally owned — Generous portions of meat — Nice array of toppings — Great salad menu(I will try a salad next time and update my review). — Good selection of bread CONS — They were out of smokey cheddar cheese — Inconsistent cheese slices(cheese was cut by hand and a bit too thick). — Bread was a bit dry — Burnt kids grilled cheese — Pepperchini’s were whole, not sliced NEUTRALS — Average priced
