Spectacular food… blows The Oregon Grille away without even trying. A classic, incredibly well executed a la carte seafood and steak menu with a subtle Latin flair thanks to an amazing sous chef. A family favorite… we take our seven year old here all the time! Try the oyster stew… it will blow your mind. The crab cake with dirty rice and beans… perhaps one of the very best crab cakes in all of Maryland. The duck: out of control good. And of course, the steak is positively amazing! With the small plates menu introduced last year, there is a very wide variety of food to satisfy most any palate and price point… perfect place whether you want a $ 60 steak or a casual lunch…

A lovely setting in a beautiful old structure. The rooms were decorated with festive Easter/spring decorations and the service was attentive. The food was good with lots of creative options for lunch. I had a soup I didn’t care for(too spicy — my issue, not the restaurants), and an off-menu winter salad that was delicious and light. Almost everyone at the table got some form of crab(crab omelette, crab cakes, etc) and they enjoyed every bite. We had a private room which made for a quiet, enjoyable lunch. The restaurant was hosting other big parties as well so it seems to be a good place for groups. A nice escape in the middle of the day.

Against better judgement based upon previous experiences we went to this relic for an early dinner. The clearly agitated waiter felt the need to tell us they don’t have a happy hour. After an unremarkable meal and overpriced drinks we left and will never return.

I went recently for lunch and while I enjoyed the food tremendously the service was only ok. I remember in a past experience top notch service with the waiter removing crumbs from the table. French onion soup, Cobb salad, & crème brûlée were flavorful. The portions were large.

Went here for a Christmas party on a Friday evening. Service was fantastic. We had a four course meal(Appetizers, Soup or Salad, Entre, & Dessert). For Appetizers, I had the Portabello Mushroom with Crab. The crab pieces were huge, as was the mushroom. Delicious! Next came the cream of crab soup. It was super thick and very flavorful. After just these two, I was stuffed. I took home the Entre — Chicken Oscar. Even reheated it was deliciuos the next day. The flourless chocolate cake was heavenly. Huge lump crab on a large piece of chicken that was very tender. Topped with a light sauce and asparagus. Served with mashed potatoes and muxed vegetables. Excellent. Everyone at the table was delighted by their meal. Elegant dining. Dress nice. Prepare to spend a lot, but expect that it will be worth the money.

We paid $ 60 each for our Thanksgiving dinner. When we got there, we waited for half and hour to be seated. They took way too many people for a seating. I hate that. I mean on a holiday, can we just have a lovely meal and not have the hassle? The food was overpriced. It was a traditional dinner but not better in any way, shape, or form than what I could make at home. What a big disappointment.

I LOVE places like the Milton Inn. The old, historical feel of dinning with an upscale menu. This was my second time dinning with my family there and it was even better then I remembered. Each course offered something special, everything coming out perfectly to order. The service was amazing, great variety with the specials, and beautiful décor. I am looking forward to dinning again at the Milton Inn for another special occasion, or just a dinner out for two.

A bit overpriced, very old school, traditional restaurant. Wait staff is very friendly and soft spoken to go with the elegant décor of the restaurant. Food was tasty but a bit heavy on the cream and one of my jumbo shrimp was overlooked but overall a nice place to bring the parents or Inlaws to

The food here is awesome! We came for lunch on Sunday and had the burger special, the burgers were half off, I couldn’t believe it. They also had beer specials as well. This place is so rustic and has a nostalgic feel. This is a great place in Sparks, MD. Check it out!

Whenever I am in Sparks, I strive to dine at The Milton Inn. My favorite room to dine in is the Hearth Room. I was told by our server that when it gets below 30 degrees you can expect a roaring fire which my wife and I enjoyed last winter. During our last visit Mr. Boston came out personally to greet us and to ask how our visit was. The food, ambiance and service are all top notch and consistent. For the first time last week, I sat Bar side during a football game(I did not know they had TVs) and it was just as cozy and warm as in one of the themed rooms. I enjoyed a massive bacon burger and a beer and left very happy as I was going to hit the Greene Turtle and glad I changed my mind! Keep up the good work Mr. Boston and The Milton Inn!

A historic building turned restaurant. I purchased a Groupon deal, the food was great but it wasn’t unforgettable. Food price is above average with most dishes costing over $ 20.

Housed in a 275 year old fieldstone building located in historic Sparks, Maryland. I started going when mike rochon was pastry chef in 1999. The food has remained the same, excellent American cuisine.

Went for dinner last night Sat outside but after getting eaten by Mosquitos and the noise of the road moved inside We noticed the state of disrepair outside under the tent in the structures and the grounds Apparently the air conditioner drains into the tent roof? which allows water to run constantly into the tent and down across the pavement … And Water pooling= Mosquitos They really need to get out there and clean the place up allot We were very casual and they seated us way back alone … Could have fit in to the bar area with our dress but thy segregated us Poor! The waitress could have been far more professional and courteous about Moving us in like«I’m sorry it didn’t work out. Of course come inside … Dinner was fair steaks ok no mashed potatoes no green beans Do they not know about«fresh garden picked in season veggies» ??? Sorry but you need an overhaul inside and out

With family roots in the town dating back 250+ years ago, I decided to finally make the trek out to The Milton Inn. If anything, it was an opportunity(a la a very expensive one) to sit where my ancestors once did. It certainly is a trek to get here. Not exactly the kind of place you just pass by and decide to grab a bite at on a whim. I’d definitely suggest making reservations for an earlier time as meals here can take a while if having several courses… not a bad thing and much better than being served overlapping courses. SERVICE&AMBIANCE: We had a relatively new waiter and he was fantastic. Given my several allergies he knew ingredients like the back of his hand which is pretty impressive given the intricate menu. They paid great attention to timing — making sure not to bring out our entrees until we were done with our appetizers. Our only complaint is that we weren’t told about the specials of the day until we literally had the menu for 25 minutes. We actually had to ask what they were. Good thing we did as we ended up ordering one of the specials! I really appreciate how they’ve preserved the interior even if I felt like I was in a Jane Austen novel. FOOD: Yes, it is very expensive but very well worth it. They offer a variety of a la carte steaks and fish(strip, ribeye, filet, salmon, swordfish, and dover sole plus a few others.) What’s even more impressive are the vast sauce options which were more plentiful than any other fine dining restaurant I’ve been to if this caliber. In addition to the customary sauces, there’s a Root Beer demi-glacé, foie gras with shiitake butter sauce, and creamy dill sauce. I can’t comment on them as I ended up having the pork tenderloin which was one of the best I’ve ever had. Well worth the bills at the end of the day. They’re not exactly the most vegetarian friendly place but I’m sure they could make accommodations, especially if contacted in advance. While the sides look expensive, they’re a decent size so don’t let the price dissuade your party from ordering them. My only complaint with the food is the dover sole. My family loves dover sole and we’re pros when it comes to this fish. $ 56 for dover sole is absolutely mind boggling to me having purchased and made it for decades in this area. And we get ours from the best! OVERALL: We were very pleased with the food and level of service. While we loved the historic ambiance, it was a bit stuffy and very quiet(aside from the loudmouth sitting at another table in our dining room!) For whatever reason we got a few snooty looks from other diners which is ironic. My family founded the town back in the day, if anyone should be snooty it should be me! But in honor of my Quaker roots I wasn’t :)

Went here for 2.5 year anniversary with SO. Was really nice dinner. The foie gras was super rich and extremely tasty. Pan seared duck breast was delicious. Definitely come here for special occasions. The service was a little too slow. Nice, quaint place.

Big bucks fine dining Old School style! You can drop serious cash here, but you got to do it right! Very fancy in an old colonial mansion/hunting lodge kind of way. Dark woods, fancy furniture, funky wallpaper– like eating in a history museum. Actually kinda cool. Dress code is business casual– we felt a bit underdressed, most were in jacket and tie. Service was friendly and knowledgable– but heavy on upsale, and our waiter was so animated and fast talking we suspected cocaine… Wine list extensive, some affordable bottles. Cocktails nice and strong! Food– awesome! Rolls were fresh baked, dense, yeasty –mmmm — real butter, best damn rolls I’ve ever had. Foi gras was melting fatty, slight sweet, very rich; sweet breads were creamy inside, crispy without, in a very flavorful mushroom sauce; clams Casino sweet and bacony; my son had rosy, beefy venison with crispy Brussels sprouts and creamy grits; my wife had huge platter of seafood– oysters, clams, shrimp, crab… I had a nice roast half duck with acorn squash and wild rice… mmmmm… Espresso finished meal. Desserts were ordered — only let down. While good, clearly shipped in from a dessert company like Ms. Desserts. Overall excellent meal, fancy old school dining done well, even with waiter on crack!

Went here on 4÷17÷15 for my husband’s birthday. I made the reservation on Open Table, and in the«notes» of the reservation I said that it was his birthday and asked for a special dessert or the like. When we got there, they sat us right away, but asked what the occasion was, and clearly hadn’t read my note — so that was kind of a bummer, but I guess that can be chalked up to technology. The location is very beautiful; and a neat historic building that has a lot of character. We ordered calamari and I got lobster bisque for our appetizers. The lobster bisque was absolutely delicious; really amazing. The only criticism I would have is that it only had a few lumps of lobster. The calamari was fine, nothing terribly special. For the main meal, I ordered the seafood medley(I forget what they called it), which came with orange roughy, shrimp, mussels, and lump crab on risotto. OH. My. GOSH. Soooooo amazingly delicious and huge portions. The risotto had cheese and roasted shallots(as I asked for no mushrooms), and was to die for. Really fabulous. My husband got mahi mahi, which he devoured so I assume it was good! He also got a «side» of colossal lump crab meat which the waiter poured over his meal. It was no joke, like GIGANTIC chunks of crab in huge portion. For dessert, my husband got a cappuccino and the homemade cookies. The cookies looked delicious, but were not good. Tasted like they had been sitting for days. I ordered the triple chocolate mousse, which was holy WOW. I am still dreaming about it. It was three layers of light, medium, and dark chocolate mousses on a chocolate cake base. That had to have been made fresh that day, and was seriously one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. All in all, we really enjoyed the meal. The check kind of threw us for a loop, but it was a special occasion so we picked our chins up from the floor and moved on relatively quickly. **I will note that our waiter seemed to have some kind of quirk(I don’t want to say disability) that was a little awkward at first. Once we realized that’s what was going on, it was fine. He was wonderfully knowledgeable and helpful in every way. So, if you get a waiter that seems a little«off,» just be patient and understanding.

The food was delicious! Very expensive, but you get what you pay for! Very fine dining and my favorites were the drinks and dessert. Highly recommend the lobster back Mac n cheese as an appetizer. For dessert we had the chef special, dark chocolate bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. The most delicious thing I had ever tasted! Cozy atmosphere, we were seated right next to a real wood burning fire and the the history of he Milton Inn on the front of the menus was really cool to read.

I had the opportunity to dine here recently and really enjoyed the experience. The venue itself is very classy and a suitable place for a good dinner or for those so desiring, a romantic date. This isn’t really an appropriate venue for a vegetarian but otherwise, the menu has a lot of appetizing options and the staff are eager to help in selecting what to order. We opted to get both the Foie Gras and Beef Tartare for appetizers and the Filet Chesapeake and Rack of Lamb, both of which were specials that night. The entrees were both good and nicely presented. The appetizers were okay but nothing too remarkable. The service was attentive and the staff was knowledgeable, though as another reviewer has mentioned you might want to expect to be there for a while. Overall, I think the Milton Inn is a special venue worth revisiting if I have the chance.

Met some friends here for dinner the other night. I have been meaning to try this place out since it is on Baltimore Magazine’s top 50 restaurants. We sat outside on their patio underneath a tent. Our waiter was excellent. He was knowledgable about the menu in addition to various cooking techniques. a real pro. They seemed to have an extensive wine menu and a good selection of cocktails and wine. The seared foie gras was good, not great. Probably a slight bit overcooked. The cream of crab soup was delicious with a decent amount of crab mixed in. My gf’s beet salad was nice, but only had 2 pieces of beets?! One of my friends suggested the rack of lamb for dinner. It is supposed to be prepared medium rare– it cam out essentially medium. Also, I’m pretty sure mine was a mutton, not lamb. To prove this, my friend’s lamb tasted so much better and less gamey than mine. The duck had potential, but it was overcooked. A well prepared piece of duck should have a nice piece of crispy skin on top. The cheesecake was quite bad. At first, I was disappointed by the size of the serving since they charge $ 10 a piece. It lacked that richness you’d get from the Capital Grille’s cheesecake. The key lime pie was actually pretty good. Overall, the experience was good, but certainly not great. I guess along the lines of «American Traditional» food it must be one of the better places in Baltimore. Perhaps my taste buds prefer more new-american and more interesting flavor combinations. I’d probably only return here because my friends live out in the burbs. Otherwise, eat at one of the downtown restaurants, you’ll be more satisfied.
