This place is your average cheap Chinese buffet. Nothing special really. I recommend going during prime hours otherwise you’re left with dried out food. Oh and don’t sit there for 5 hours from lunch till dinner, because you’ll get charged for both. Our fault though hehe.

This place really hasn’t changed all that much. While I haven’t seen any bugs this time, they did have problems in the past. The food is also cooked longer then need be. The staff are friendly though, and it is cheap so I will probably try them again.

*** UPDATE*** I’ve gone to the Top of China Buffet twice since my review. I’ve noticed a lot of changes there. I’m pretty sure it’s got to do with their last health inspection. The bugs are gone, the food stations are up to temprature and I’ve noticed the cleaning supplies are not left out for anyone to touch. The food has improved. The prices have not. I’m very careful to pay in cash only. I’ve changed my rating to 3 stars… for now.

Severely Disappointed!!! We read some good reviews about this place and went hoping it would be good. We arrived on Sunday an hour after they opened. The bar was full of food but everything we tried to eat was cold or luke warm. Crab ragoon, green beans, chicken sticks, sweet & sour chicken it was all cold, the only way that is possible is if they put out last night’s left over food. Is that even sanitary??? We tried to get hibachi cook to order rice and the grill wasn’t hot, so it took a long time, the chef messed up our orders and the rice was over cooked since the grill wasn’t hot enough in the beginning. It was a horrible experience and we would never eat there again.

I just moved to Reno and was hoping a Chinese food place delivered and came across this place and placed my order. Good thing I didn’t see the reviews for this place before hand or I would have been dissuaded. As far as the delivery the gentleman was kind, friendly and didn’t take long to arrive at my door. The food was great to be perfectly honest. The steamed dumplings were amazing! Hot and steamy and full of flavor, so delicious. The beef & broccoli actually had beef! Not just loaded with broccoli, don’t get me wrong, I love broccoli but when I order beef & broccoli I want beef too and some places don’t give you a lot of beef. The beef was soft and tender, flavorful and the broccoli was blanched perfectly. The combination fried rices was fantastic I’m a plain white rice guy I’m not big on fried rice but this was beyond delicious! It was so much better the next day to be honest. The wonton soup was simple but full of flavor, it was the best I’ve had so far, the wontons’ were made perfect, and held together so nicely. I LOVED the chow mein as well, the combination was delicious! And was the first thing to go in my house! It was the perfect texture! I plan on ordering from then soon! … like as soon as I’m done with this review soon!

Good luck registering. Why does a chinese restaurant need you to register anyway? With a password that requires a number and a capital letter. Is there some kind of mass chinese food hacking going on that I don’t know about? Too bad for them.

Made the mistake of eating at this restaurant today. First, the food is bland and dry; I love fish but much to my disappointment, the Tilapia was dry and flavorless. Also, there’s not too many choices and most of the dish was empty. Not to mention, most meats look very old. The Bbq Pork felt like it sat in the sun all week. Service suck too, I was given a glass of drink with oil on it. There were literally clumps of fat coating the glass and we were not given utensils or napkins. They charge $ 12.99 per person, we also ordered a drink but I don’t know how much they charged for each oily drink. Regardless, I think it’s a waste of money. We had awful dining experience and my boyfriend got sick when we get home. This is the first time I ate in this place and will not be back ever again. I should have went along with the initial plan to eat at Toucan’s Buffet at Atlantis Casino. They charge $ 15.99 for lunch on a weekend and you get massive choices: American, Asian, Latin and they have a carving station — which is awesome and Cheesecakes and other pastries for dessert(NY Cheesecake is heavenly here) AND you get a drink free. And the place and utensils are clean, not oily. So don’t waste your money on this nasty place. There are better Chinese buffet around and they charge only $ 8.99.

I don’t know how this place is still open. Cold and old food. Get the stir fry if you go, it’ll be the most recent cooked thing there. See how I left fresh out of that? Cause I question wetter or not the food being cooked is fresh too.

This place is $ 12 for old cold food and horrible customer service. I asked if they where going to put out any fresh food soon and the guy got mad at me like it was my fault the food was cold. He proceeded to the back to talk to the cooks in there own language and they looked at me smiling like I was being made fun of

Another rating update and I wonder why! I hate to see a once great restaurant slip into such a state, but it has! Gone are the frog legs, gone is the octopus, gone is the baked salmon. Anything of any cost is gone in an attempt(what else could it be) to reduce costs to the bare minimum. They are still the only Mongolian BBQ to dole out meat from behind the chef’s counter and I ended up staring at a plate of vegetables long after my carefully rationed meat was gone! We were introduced to a mystery meat surrounded by rice in the Sushi, unidentifiable and hard as shoe leather, when shoes were still made with real leather! Pitiful egg rolls(how could you screw up a Chinese staple)? BTW: it was 2:00PM and there were only 6 seated the whole time we were there. If you make the mistake of going in please tell the manager(she has been there for several years now) that the place has really slipped. As a further note the King Buffet on Kietzke Ln. is packed around lunch time, no doubt from disgruntled Top of China patrons!

You get what you pay for. It isn’t great Chinese food, but you can almost always find a coupon to get it for a good price, and frankly, I’ve been to a lot worse. On a plus side though, the service has always been fast and friendly.

Mediocre is the only word that comes to mind. Food was bland, service was nonexistent. We will not be returning.

Every Chinese buffet I have ever been to has been mediocre at best. This is another one. It’s around $ 12 for the dinner buffet. You can also order off of a menu. The staff is always really nice. There’s a woman working there who I always see and she’s extremely friendly. My one little star is just for her. The food isn’t completely awful, but it isn’t anything memorable. The only thing I really like is the chow mein. Most of their chicken is overcooked. Last time I went, their sweet and sour chicken was literally as hard as a rock. They also have sushi and a lot of desserts that I’m kind of afraid to try. They have ice cream, however I’ve noticed that the ice cream they serve at Chinese buffets is always some weird substance that I highly doubt is actual ice cream. The toppings for the ice cream are always messy so if you have a nut allergy, be careful because people carelessly toss nuts into the sprinkles and chocolate chips. The last couple times I’ve eaten here, I was sick afterward. I usually come here at the suggestion of other people.

They are still open? I have been there once and it was the worst food I’ve ever had! Will never go back there! Zero stars if I could!

We didn’t even make it in. The outside already looked dirty and rundown. I know we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but come on…

Worst food EVER! only reason they got one star is because I can not put zero stars! Food was tasteless, dry and undercooked or overlooked. Soda was flat. Manager was busy talking to his friend while the friends kids played with the food on the buffet!!! The bathroom pipe to the toilet had aluminum foil on it! NEVERAGAIN!!!

For 4 to 5 years our team would do lunch there during the week, once or twice per month. The buffet choices are large and hot and ready. A few dishes are served cold where I would prefer them hot. It’s a great place to take kids who need a variety of choices and the dessert and cold fruit buffet is really good.

The one star is for the sweet staff. The food was old and COLD. It was so depressing in there.
