Mellow Mushroom

I just don’t understand how a place could go down so fast…
First, I got there about 7:50pm on a Fri night. It was pouring raining outside so when my server asked about a drink order, I asked her to give me a second to dry off. Fifteen min later I finally flagged down another waiter and asked for a soda, my server comes by the table and says «I was just giving you a min»…(me thinking) nooo u gave me more like 20 of them (min).
Then I placed my order… bruschetta and a small house pizza. The appetizer gets there and it’s a soggy mess, covered in Feta cheese (good Feta though)… I show my server, she takes it back, and apologizes and about 30 min later she brings out another order of Bruschetta. By now it’s aprox 8:35pm and I’ve only had my appetizer… When asked about my pizza… She says «just give it a few more min… at 8:50 I asked her again, she says «we’re running a lil behind, but I’ll go check on it)… At 9:12 my pizza FINALLY comes out and it’s the wrong size, and clearly not all the way done. The server makes it a point to tell me, although I ordered a small pie, they were not gonna charge me for the medium pie (why should they, it was their mistake). This place is a joke now. All this and the place wasn’t even crowded, only about 4 of the tables were occupied, seriously there was more waitstaff than patrons.
Now here it is the next morning, and I’m reheating my pizza, hope it comes out better than last night… Wish me luck, but don’t go here to eat. Period!!!

Slow service, dry reheated pizza that had definitely been sitting out for a long time, and unchilled beer. I live mellow mushroom in general, but this location was quite a disappointment… which is a shame because I’m within walking distance.

Wow, what happened Friday night 4÷15÷2016? Ordered a large pizza half pepperoni half sausage, got ground beef instead of sausage. Dough didn’t see like the usual dough. And on top of all that I arrived an hour after calling in the order and being told it would be an hour and twenty minutes, to the pizza waiting on top of the oven. This place is usually on. Not tonight.

This chain is awesome! No other pizza chain can compare to these guys! Pizza is sooooooo good! ⁵⁄₅ I come about every Sunday (my pizza day)

Having eaten at other Mellow Mushrooms, we were ready for some pizza after just getting in town to visit our daughter. We were seated quickly, waitress super nice, service was good. The food not so much. Our pizza was over cooked, they ran out of the sauce that went on top so they just didn’t put any on the pizza. The crust was tough and chewy, honestly one of the worst pizzas Ive ever had. The manager did offer to make us new one, but we declined since we were almost done and staying in a hotel. We would have ended up with two crappy pizzas. The manager did take the pizza off our bill. The service was good, the manager did their job to rectify a bad experience, but the food was just awful. Still undecided if we will give the store another chance next time we are in town. The only reason they get two stars is the service from our waitress and the manager.

Took my college age daughter last night. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza, and the meatball and cheese bread appetizers. Wall if the food was delicious. Would highly recommend both the pizza and apps, especially the cheese bread which had a delicious olive mix with it. Service was quick and polite. Seated quickly. Priced appropriately. Not sure why this has three stars. Will come back here again.

Worst service ever! Food disgusting! Ok I know it is a pizza place but we all ordered a hoagie! The steak & cheese; a pinch of steak cooked to death, bread as hard as a day old piece of burnt toast. My parent’s chicken teriyaki hoagie did not arrive to table until the rest of us (four) was done eating ours and the server was like oh well it is still cooking! This experience has made me consider never visiting another mellow mushroom ever!!! BTW it was 3:00pm on a Tuesday three other people at the bar and five staff in kitchen horse playing!!! No manger in site!!!

Ba-​lahhhhh. Slow service but nice people. Plain food, somewhat dry, ok casual vibe in the place. Nothing bad, just blah!

Great pizza! The pizza’s crust is soft with a crunchy crisp. You’ll be surprised that you can finish eating the crust!
I’ve eaten at a few pizza restaurants and I stopped eating pizza for a while because I had my fair share of eating bad pizza but upon eating here, my love of pizza have been renewed.
This Mellow Mushroom restaurant does have a long wait to receive your food even after lunch hours and there was only 3 tables of customers. That’s why I had to give one less star.
Overall, I like their pizza but their prices are pretty high.

Worst. Mellow. Mushroom. Ever.
I did a «create your own pizza» deal all I wanted was olive oil base, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes, and andouille sausage… A pizza margherita with sausage, not exactly breaking new ground here. It comes to me 5 minutes after my wife gets her’s with no sausage, no basil, and arguably no mozzarella although they did point at a yellow spot and say here it is. I sent it back to be fixed and it returned with basil sprinkled on top and some pan seared andouille. It was cold at this point and all the waitress did was apologize that everyone was new.

Great food — SLOW service. I came in early for a carry-​out and ordered an Arnold-​Palmer. Coincidentally I texted when I sat down, so I knew the time I sat at the bar, ready to be served. SEVEN (7) minutes later I was acknowledged, and a little over 3 more minutes I finally was asked what I wanted. That may not sound like a big deal until you see that there are 4 people at the bar and less tables occupied in the whole place. It’s not even 5 pm. The place is not busy. Test yourself. Have someone pacing back and forth in front of you, looking at you at nearly every pass for 7 minutes. It’s excruciating.
For a chain, there are standards. I’m pretty confident that this is not up to the standard.
As for the food, come on, it’s eye rolling goodness! Too bad the service dampers the food. I’d say it’s an easy fix, but having some direct experience in the casual eatery industry I can tell you it’s a staffing issue and it’s only going to get worse for the consumer. Very rare to find good help; especially staff that cares about service, timeliness, and who will take initiative.

Caesar salad and the mellowterranean pizza: I recommend both highly. The service was good, cool atmosphere, good food. Overall an above average experience.

The food is always good here and you can make any of the pizzas vegetarian and replace the meat with avocado, which is fantastic. I’ve never had a bad meal, but my most recent was the Greek salad and the mellowterranian pizza with avocado instead of chicken. It’s very tasty and the crust is dusted with parmesan cheese. Yum. Now the reason for the lower rating is the slow/​lacking customer service. Definitely don’t go if you’re starving, because you will most likely wait awhile for your food. I called in an order one time, was told half an hour and when i got there 30 minutes later, i still waited another 20 minutes. Also, some cushions would be nice on the outside chairs. Even with this, i keep going back because the food is that good.

Don’t waste your money. Worst pizza I have ever had super greasy and over priced. Service was literally the worst I have had in my life. I will not be returning to mellow mushroom ever again. If I was about to starve to death I would rather die than eat their food.

They have a very large beer selection. It’s nice to be able to go somewhere with beers I’ve never tried or heard of. Everyone was very nice and polite. The bathrooms were pretty clean. The food was decent. My only complaint is how slow the service was. I waited almost two hours for a meatball sub and a small pizza. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re in a hurry.

This was the first time that I’ve been to this specific Mellow Mushroom location and have to say that I was impressed. The pizza is a little on the expensive side but, like with any restaurant experience, you’re paying for the quality of the food as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant, two things that made it worth the cost in my opinion.
The psychedelic theme, plus the laid-​back bar feel of the place made for a great place to spend an evening full of pizza and beer.

Good food… Slow service.
We visited this location two separate times approximately a month apart for early dinner. We stood at the front for a decent amount of time till someone greeted us and sat us at our table.
The pizza has always been good. We have ordered the Cosmic Karma and the BBQ pizza. Both were good, but add extra pesto swirl to the Cosmic Karma. It does take some time to come out because they cook it fresh so set aside some time to have a few beverages while you await your masterpiece.

Really really slow. This was my first visit so I am told the wait is par the course for all Mellow Mushrooms.
The pizza very good. My coworkers and I ordered the mighty meaty and the philosopher’s pie. It was a good pizza with adequate toppings.
The service was ok. I will eat here again when I have no plans immediately after.

We have been to one close to our house (in Brandon, FL) many times and thought we would give this one a try.
It took a min of us waiting inside until we got sat, but it was lunch time so not a big deal. Our servers promptly greeted us (one was in training) and took our order. It does take some time to get your pizza because it is all made from scratch so just a though for those who haven’t been here. We ordered the Kosmic Kara and the House. Both were amazing and the Kosmic Karma by far is one of my favorite pizzas that they make! If you don’t want pizza their calzones are massive and taste delicious as we’ll!

While searching Unilocal for a place to eat, I didn’t know that Mellow Mushroom was in town and a few miles away from my hotel.
I have been to several MM’s across the country and they just opened one in my town.
I arrived about 9pm and it was not crowded at all. There wasn’t a hostess in place and I had to ask someone wrapping silverware were should I sit.
Once seated, I asked for a recommendation for a local crafted beer and was pleased with the selection. I placed my food order and asked for a change to the pie.
The pizza was welled cooked and was served as requested. I enjoyed my meal and visit to this MM.
