Really good food! Nice people, and got to play my kids at washers out back after we ate. We ate there yesterday, and I was recommending this place to my customers today.

I used to love this place however I feel that it’s gone downhill. The burgers and fries are overly greasy and sloppy. And they have raised prices over the years. Every time we eat here and have a pitcher of beer with our family of four its $ 80. Just not worth the price.

Probably the best restaurant in the Spicewood area, not many choices around here. If you come with little ones order a couple of Glider appetizer plates with chips and salsa, it’s the best. The outside seating is fabulous for relaxing and watching your kids play while you have a drink. Decent beer selection.

Love this place! Exactly what we wanted, kind of a dive, family restaurant, sports bar, with great hamburgers, wonderful draft beer selection & atmosphere all rolled into one!

Was in the area and stopped in for lunch. They have GLUTENFREE buns!!! Burger was excellent and fries were delicious. Waitress was really friendly and service was excellent. Great spot to bring kids as there is a play structure and giant Legos also dog friendly! Loved it. Definitely be going back!

Kids playground. Giant Legos. Live oaks. Open air. Ice cold beer. Killer happy hour. Dog friendly. This place is everything you want in a Texas icehouse. Everything. We didn’t have food, just cold beer. The whole place is a giant porch. And the playground attracts beer-sipping beauty queen MILFs. Will DEFINITELY return. LOVE this place.

A 5-star? Yeah… This place holds a special place in my heart. I, my wife, and our pups always visit this Icehouse after hiking Pace Bend. It has a fantastic vibe, the servers love our dogs(very important), and they actually had Art Car IPA from Saint Arnold, which is my current favorite IPA, on tap. Also, the queso rocks! Finally, the Gliders(actually a couple of burgers cut into pizza-slice-like sections) come with sauteed onions and jalapenos are a must-order. There is no doubt in our minds where to eat/drink when we find ourselves in that neck of the woods.

My first time here today and I stopped in for lunch while on this side of Austin. I had seen the Unilocal reviews and with 4⁄5 stars, and figured it was worth a try. Walked right in and picked a table to sit at. I opted for the tilapia sandwich. I was trying to be somewhat healthy and that seemed like a good compromise. I’m not sure I’d trust the quinoa salad at an icehouse. I appreciate the effort to offer some healthier options. The flavors on the sandwich were very good. I really liked the slaw as it complimented the tilapia. I do wish it was bigger filet on the sandwich. I had an abundant serving of fries that I did not finish. They were okay as was the onion ring that I tried. It appeared that the burgers that were ordered by others at my table were also enjoyed. I REALLY liked the atmosphere of this place. I could totally picture families coming over to listen to live music, let the kids run around and play on the playground, enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Laid back.

Angel’s is great! Fantastic food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. Great for kids and adults. Live music isn’t our favorite, so we avoid it when there are bands because it’s loud and gets pretty packed. If you love the music scene, get there early(limited parking). That aside, it will always be one of our favorite Spicewood spots.

Our very first night living in Texas and we ate at Angel’s on a recommendation. We absolutely loved it! The beer was cold, the burgers juicy, and the lemon ice box pie is a family favorite. We loved it the second time as well. We started bringing family and friends. The atmosphere is fun and the food typical«icehouse» fare. Eating a burger on the picnic tables underneath the oaks is always a great experience. It’s also great for larger groups. As time went on, we noticed Angel’s getting busier. We noticed the prices going up. We noticed that we don’t want to go there as much because the quality of the food if you don’t want a burger and fries is a bit inconsistent. So, it’s become a bit of a special occasion type of place. When we want to eat like crap, it works. As a regular stop, it has less of an appeal. My suggestion… add a real salad, don’t pound the chicken so thin that it’s like jerky, and add a few more appetizers. Get consistent on the fries. Don’t get healthy on me… I know that’s not why you’re here. But don’t guilt me for coming. If not, we’ll still be back. Just not more than once every few months. But when we come, we’ll have fun. If you don’t change a thing, I’ll still be back.

We camped out on Lake Travis for the weekend. On our way back home we stopped by here for some grub. It actually wasn’t our first choice(we were looking for some BBQ) but not many places in the area were open during President’s Day. Luckily, we found this place :) The things I loved about this place: It has a play ground for the kids and they are dog friendly! They even have a couple items for dogs on the menu! Our waiter was very nice and attentive, food didn’t take long to come out soon after ordering. I took away a star because we weren’t that amazed by the food. My bf and I ordered the handrolled burgers with fries. I got cheddar, bacon & guacamole on mine, which I thought was good(but I could get that at any burger place). and my bf wasn’t that impressed with his. Sorry, I can’t remember what he got. My son enjoyed the hotdog and fries! It kept him off the playground for a good 5 min, but as soon as he was done he ran right back out there lol. I definitely see my family returning during the summer! I want to explore the menu a little bit :)

Very disappointing. The atmosphere was nice. And live music was good. But, the food was nothing special. I had a cheeseburger. The patty was very thin and dry, with very little flavor. My boyfriend got nachos, and they had very little flavor. We always take leftovers home… we didn’t take any home from here.

This place is a hidden gem if there ever was one. It’s like shady grove had a baby with phils ice house, but better in all ways. Start with the food– THEBEST burgers, seriously kick ass fried pickles and jalepenos, the best ranch,(extra points for having chipotle ranch), a great kids menu, great selection of draft beer, and a pretty good wine list to boot! The play area for the kids is great, and every time we have been there has been some really good live music. Just a really fun place to kick back and have a good time while nomming on some seriously good eats!

Great local place. Very close to the house. Now with cooler weather this is an ideal hang out. Huge play area for the kids and can even bring the dog! Food is also solid. Not 5 stars but still good. And plenty of options on tap including my personal favorite Eastcider out of Austin.

We have been meaning to eat here for years and FINALLY made it in tonight. It’s an old school Texas road house with several big screen TVs with various football games playing. It’s super casual so come in a t shirt and shorts if you like. There’s outdoor seating as well so kids can run wild while you eat. The food was quick and good. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was quit large. My husband had a single burger with fries. Everything was delish. My only criticism is that the single burger was a bit overpriced at $ 9.00(includes fries). It wasn’t a particularly thick type of burger. It was bigger than P Terry’s, I’d say around the size of a Mighty Fine burger. Anyway, it was good and I’d order it again but the price was a bit surprising for this type of place. The service was quick and friendly. It wasn’t too crowded(Sat around 4:30 on a chilly/wet night) so we sat right down with no wait. If you’re going on a nice summer weekend night, there would probably be a wait at prime time. We’ll be back!

3.5 stars for Angels. Great atmosphere, large menu, and tasty drinks. The food selections are mostly fried things with a side of more fried things so there aren’t a ton of healthy options. That’s ok though. Everyone needs to splurge once in a while.

Perfect family restaurant. Pros: Good food, live music, playscape + kids area, friendly service. Cons: There’s not one by our house! Food details: Good kids meals. Great fried pickles, onion rings, frito pie, and chicken fried steak. Ok burgers.

I love Angels ok! I would go in weekly with my daughters and dog for lunch, and always took out of town guests here! The environment is wonderful, the staff is friendly, the owners are great! Back in June, I ordered the same thing I always do… The chicken fried chicken strips. I ate one there and they seemed undercooked. So I ate my fries and decided to take the chicken home and reheat later– make sure they were cooked! My kids had the fried macaroni and loved them, per usual. I finished the chicken fried chicken strips later on at home after a quick reheat. By 2am, I was deathly ill with food poisoning. I was more sick than I have ever been in my entire life. I lost 6 pounds in 24 hours and vomited over 12 times. All I had eaten in the day and a half prior was, the chicken fried chicken strips. I am positive that is what was contaminated/undercooked and caused me to get sick. We seriously love it here, but I’ve been to terrified to go back since I got sick. NOTHING is good enough to risk feeling that awful ever again. PROS: The fried pickles are great, chicken salad sandwich is good, good burgers… Great patio and fun staff. CONS: the chance of ever being that sick again!

What a charming place with great outdoor dining and play area! Many local patrons bring their dogs along. Food is not bad at all but a bit too salty(sauteed fish and pork chop both too salty). Soup and salad were excellent but we didn’t try their burgers. Service was first class and what a fun place to bring kids, too.
