My family and I have been enjoying the Bistro for quite some time now. The food is amazing with my absolute favorite item on the menu being the Cobb Salad. It is delicious. It is well worth the drive down Pace Bend Road to stop in for a drink and a great meal. Aside from the food, the service is spectacular. My husband was there for dinner one evening when I was home sick. I told him to see if they had a baked potato, because even with a virus, I was craving a good baked potato. He asked, but baked potatoes were not on their menu that evening. However, they were awesome and made him one to go to bring home to me. It was perfect! It also got my husband out of trouble for going there to eat without me. LOL

Everything was great! Salsa great! Fresh tortilla chips great! Bacon queso really great! Pork chop outstanding. Burgers and margaritas ditto. Even the service was great! If there is a weak spot, it was the fries and onion rings. We really enjoyed this places and went there two nights in a row. That pretty telling… yes?

Thanks for the note back– we got off on the wrong foot because I feel your customer Service/demeanor was not friendly. I went so far as to ask you if you were having a bad day and you said yes. My advice is to try to smile more and be more pleasant to people– we eat out a lot and I refer my clients to places where we feel welcome. Your attitude that day did not make me feel welcome. So, you can dispute my feelings or you can learn from the encounter. I must have had a bad experience or I wouldn’t waste my time posting this review. I hope you will come away from this with an honest look in the mirror to see if you really like dealing with people every day. Perhaps there is another role in the restaurant that will put a smile on your face. If not, that’s not a knock on you as a person, I’d just say maybe being a server is not the right role for you. Best of luck with your restaurant. The smells were great:)

Went with my hubby Friday night and it was great! We wanted to try something new and read reviews and found this gem. We had excellent service from the bartender, server, food runner and one of the owners. Everyone was helpful and nice. The food was fun and tasty. The bacon wrapped baked wings were so good, eaten with a knife and fork. The sauce was spicy with a hint of sweet. The menu is simple and they do it right. I also had the BLT and it was super good 10 pieces of bacon, ripe tomato, green leafy lettuce hint of mayo and the best onion rings I have had in forever. The drinks from the bar were made well and the atmosphere was fun. We will be back!

Briarcliff Bistro and Bacon Bar really wants to be that upgraded place on the street and in many ways they are; however for those prices I feel you should offer more. The dwelling is well thought out. There is an attractive outdoor seating area to enjoy the soft lighting, nature and live acoustic music. It’s dog friendly too — so that’s a big plus to me! There are also tables inside for those who prefer that, as well as a bar area to sit at. The drinks were enjoyable. I love some craftier cocktails and they do a pretty tasty attempt at them. The menu just seems a little mixed up to me. Some basics mixed in along more thought out dishes. Most all priced high enough I would assume they were damn delicious! However this was not my experience. Chips and house made salsa were on the menu and this gal LOVES me some chips and salsa — kinda like a cocaine addiction love. The chips were the thick, super crunchy style — not my favorite, but they hold a lot of salsa. The salsa was flavorsome and they did bring us another bowl since you really could scoop it up with those chips! For dinner my friend got the shrimp scampi. She thought it was great and I have to agree it was nicely done. My veggie burger, with $ 2.00 up charge for what tasted like frozen out of a bag fries, was a total let down. I even tried to enhance it with a fried egg and green chilies. But alas even this didn’t hide my frozen comes from a box veggie patty(sigh). So yes, my over 15.00 veggie burger and fries were a total let down. And if that’s the only veggie ‘meal’ option(yes you can ALWAYS eat a salad … boring) you better do it better than that! Make your own house made veggie burger — it’s not that hard really! Cut your own fries or if they are, do something else. This veg head was left uninspired. Do one or the other and do them well, but don’t bring down the creative dishes with the boring, I can make at home overpriced ones. I’m so confused. Dang it — you’re so close to my favorite campground too! I so wanted to give you that 4 – 5 star rating, but I’m going with 3. I really thought about 2 cause there’s a place not to far that does a great veggie burger, but there are some good things for the meat eaters here and with the name bacon bistro you kinda have to assume they don’t cater to the veg heads much.

This place is a hidden gem– if you are at all in the area you must go here, you won’t regret it. After hanging at the crystal creek moonshine brewery last night we grabbed dinner here and it was perfection. Everything we had from the fresh made chips and bacon queso to the cob salad and pig wings rocked. You probably can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and despite the busy rush the service was an A+. I wish this place was closer to where I lived but we will definitely be back.

The service and atmosphere here are fabulous, couple that with some excellent freshly prepared foods and you have a great spot to go for an evening out. The cocktails are creations of excellent mixology, try the pig wings, and the bacon cheesecake for a fun spin on traditional foods. The pork chop with pineapple chutney is tasty but could use a short time in a brine bath to tender it up a bit. Otherwise a great place to eat drink and have fun.

BAAAAAA-con! The name of this joint instantly made me want to drive to it in record speed… similar to my dog who attacks the TV when commercials come on for those beggin thingys! Located just a few miles of 71 in Briarcliff(yes, it can be a bit of a haul from Austin), BB&BB reads much more bar than bistro. On a Sunday evening almost at full capacity. Definitely a place locals hang out to grab a bite, sip some beer, and listen to a guitar picker. There is very ample outdoor seating under the trees complete with fire pit, and several tables under the«front porch.»(This is where the smokers seem to hang out.) Walk in and surprisingly small, yet inviting. There are a total of 8 bar seats and about 8 tables — my husband and I were lucky enough to grab two at the bar. Were greeted by the super nice bartender, and even welcomed by a gentleman who I assume was the owner. Top notch customer service. The food menu is somewhat limited, but ample enough to please. They offer 4 apps, one being chips & salsa. Four burgers, one being veg. Four sandwiches, and yes, one is a Bacon, bacon, bacon, with a little L&T. There are a few entrees, including a Steak for $ 25.95 and Shrimp Scampi for $ 19.95 — whew. And of course a few obligatory desserts. To my utter surprise, BACON was not the focus of most of BB&BB’s offerings. Although, they must have been cooking a lot of it because of the haze in the air — similar to like being in a smoking bar but the fantastic smell or fried pork rather than tobacco. Drinks: HAD to order the BBBBrunch Bloody even though it was about 6:30pm. Served in a giant 24 oz. mug, topped with so many accruements you seriously don’t need to order food after. I mean, they actually bring you a plate, knife, and fork with this thing! Skewers loaded with smoked gouda, cheddar, thick large slices of salami, pickled asparagus, pickled okra, pickled green beans, olives, and a large pickled egg(the menu stated quall egg, but that’s okay). Shockingly, the only think it didn’t include was bacon! I think it was supposed to and they forgot. Thought it was well worth $ 13 just for the novelty of it, but maybe a little more vodka please? Food: Even after the BBBBrunch Bloody feast decided we had to order some food after the trek out. So… the Infamous BBBBLT it was. A whopping 10 crispy slices of applewood smoked bacon served with chips. Good. Is it worth the drive? If you like bacon and/or have a craving for the most outrageous Bloody Mary on the planet, yes! But… sadly they don’t offer brunch any longer. They now don’t open until 4p.m. daily. It was explained to us that they have staffing issues(i.e., they couldn’t get anybody to work the shifts) which is understandable; however, is a HUGEBUMMER for me(I really only enjoy Bloody’s earlier in the day). We were told they may start their Brunch again next summer. If/when that happens, I will certainly be back… again…and again… and again. On the fence about rating: Uniqueness and charm: 5 stars BM creativity: 5 stars, but deduct 1 for weak pour=4 Menu choices and prices: 3 stars, would be more if they still offered Brunch Service: 5 stars Total: 4.25 Tip: Gravel parking, but pretty smooth. No need to bring out the pick-em-up-truck. ;)

Bacon. Need I say more? The menu here is top notch, and they have menu specials every night of the week, like Italian special night, Mexican plate night, and burger night. Anything you order will be decked with quality ingredients. Sunday brunch is a must and their Bloody Mary specials are a meal within themselves. Definitely a place that it not to be missed. Look for the BBBB!

I’m starting with… I honestly never write reviews especially bad ones. I normally get so excited about a place and this is what sparks me to write a review. But… First– the 1 star was because the pulled pork sandwich was really good, half a star(burger was blah… Can we say hello mounds of lettuces). The other half is from our server. She was nice but overloaded. We went for the 1 year anniversary party. Super pumped and excited for fire dancers, good food, and good beer! It took forever to get a server and get drinks flowing… But we were cool just hanging out listening to good live music! We ordered the pigs wings, which were tasty, and got some good bloody marys, all is well! Surf and turf was really good! Ok so here is where stuff goes sour… So they had a special tent to go get food from. We roll up, no line, ask how it works. We place our orders and gave out tickets… The guy says he will bring it out. 45 min later… No food. So we roll back up to the tent, the owners are now the people serving the food. They were rude about it, demanding tickets, out of food, and serving their friends while we are standing there. It took forever to get the ticket to close out and of course it was wrong. This is the second time we have been here and they have just not delivered food twice. The friends I was visiting live so close and were starting to come here often. Too bad we won’t be back after tonight… Ohh and no fire dancers :/

Food was very good, service also very good my only complaint if you can call it that is it’s a tad on the expensive side. Hubby and I had a hamburger and a salad… no alcohol no apps… and it was nearly $ 40. Still I’d say they are a fun place to give a go of once in a while.

A great find after spending the morning looking at bluebonnets in Muleshoe Bend. Our server was really sweet and the food was wonderful! My son had the lattice bacon burger and I had the chicken and bacon sandwich. My 12 year old son with a hollow leg couldn’t finish his burger! If you’re in the area, this is the place to stop!

Super friendly crew here… From a climber, this means that my dishelved appearance and chalk stains are overlooked and replaced with friendly attitudes and welcome smiles. One other note worth sharing would be that as a pretty decent pescatarian, I’ve pushed pause more than once at the BBB. The food is really good — quality ingredients, care and attention to details and seasoning, and the chef often steps out and is open to any interesting suggestions and/or additions.
