We came in from Rockdale and had a great time. When we first drove up we were a little aprehensive but once we went in it was cool. Everything and everyone was very open and inviting. The owner was very personable as was his brother. We had drinks(which you do have to pay for), the Moon-garitas are great!!! I got the deal on LivingSocial for 4 people for around $ 80 and we got to sample the moonshine and everyone also received a tee shirt, a shot glass, another glass, and a small backpack. Would go again!!!

We took the tour today and it was awesome! They have great stories of how they got their start as well as describing the ins and outs of distilling. Phenomenal product and a memorable experience!

Shane was informative, entertaining, and joyful. We brought 2 out of towners with us and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the experience — even on a rare cold Austin evening on New Year’s Day. All 4 of us bought moonshine, t-shirts and trinkets. The groupon was a GREAT deal with many extras. We each had a cocktail after the tasting and hung out with Shane!

We did the groupon deal and it was well worth it. The guys are very informative, fun and great to listen to about how they brew their shine. Its a small place but well worth the trip. We look forward to seeing them again soon. Thank you for a great time!!!

My girlfriend and I had a great time and enjoyed some pretty tasty beverages. Definitely recommend the cucumber and Serrano moonshine. Shane is down to earth and very informative. They’ve accomplished more since they launched in February of this year than most have accomplished in 10 years. If you’re in the area head out and support these guys.

Love this place! The guys are awesome and quite animated story tellers. They produce a great product and had the patience to put up with our crazy antics. I would highly recommend this place for any and all. There’s a cute place outside to hang out and enjoy the scenery and play some games while enjoying a cocktail, or two ;) I highly recommend the peach and lavender infused moonshine… Delicious!

Great part of my birthday weekend trip to Austin with my girls! For a small fee you get tastings of all their moonshine flavors and for $ 5 they will make cocktails before, during, and after the presentation of the how they make moonshine. Shane is awesome. Very friendly and makes you feel the passion he has for his business. Keeps it light and fun, so it’s perfect for group trips or birthdays. The moonshine is really good, I brought the sampler pack home. I would definitely purchase more if shipment opportunities can be established. The cherry on top is that they give back to Ethiopia. I love supporting small businesses and those who believe in conscious capitalism and give back to those in need. Great job Shane!!!

I hate to write a bad review because there are so many good ones but I HAVE to write a bad review. I purchased a groupon for 4 people to attend a tour. I was really excited about it, a friend drove in from Corpus and we all cleared our days to make the drive. We get there at about 11:50(our tour was set for 12) and it wasn’t open. There were two couples waiting outside who purchased the same exact groupon. One couple even drove in from Waco! We kept waiting hoping someone would drive but no dice. We waited 30 minutes before we called it quits. I’ve been calling and have yet to get a reply. So all in all it was a huge waste of time, gas, and a terrible disappointment. I want to support small business and I want to support locally owned businesses but come on guys. Get it together.

We came yesterday after having found out about it from a LivingSocial deal. To be honest, the deal wasn’t a big discount, but Crystal Creek Moonshine is definitely worth a visit, or even a fun afternoon with a ton of friends. They have a cool indoor«bar» adjacent to where they distill, as well as a chill outdoor area with tables and chairs. The ambiance aside, we had a tour ran by Shane, who also gave us small communion cup samples of the different varieties of infused moonshine to try! He was a very personable and cool guy who made this less of a tour and more of a conversation about his experience in the business and the process and history of moonshine. And the moonshine itself is awesome as well! It’s got a very clean, smooth feel to it, and it’s priced very well given the fact that it’s as smooth as far more expensive brand-name whiskey/vodka/gin. It’s definitely a bit of out of the way, but worth a visit.

Shane, one of the partners, was just one of the refreshing surprises at this little tucked-away gem. Yummy cocktails made with their smooth shine, an adorable dog with a great disposition and good conversation made our first-time visit here a memorable one! We all bought some shine to take home… a definite stop when you’re near Austin or visiting the Texas hill country.

These guys are such a bunch of fun. I went back in March for a distillery tour and they are the funniest, most casual folks I’ve ever encountered on a distillery tour. They took us through the distilling process(they’re really transparent about everything), had us sample a little of each flavor, and let us find our favorite. I’m a big fan of the Coffee Pecan — we grabbed a bottle on our way out. I recently discovered it’s a perfect pairing with flan. Who knew. They also make some cocktails that are pretty dope. Would definitely recommend these guys for a lazy Saturday out with friends or a day-date. We hit up a watering hole after. GETYOUTHATSHINE!

What a cool place! I’ve been here twice in the past 3 months and I’m planning to go a lot more. This dog-friendly country hole in the wall moonshine distillery is expanding to gin as well. The owners are young and have a great story to tell. The inside is full of character and the outside stretches far enough to host the largest of parties. If you’d like to try some tasty cocktails, play some games, and experience Texas moonshine without the explosions and blinding side-effects, add Crystal Creek to your tour of the hill country.

We had a Groupon for two that included a tour, a tasting of 5 different selections of their moonshine, and two free glasses. All for $ 18! The man behind the counter, Max, was super nice. He gave us the tour from the bar, explaining the process of making moonshine, and by the end, even let us taste some of his own home-brewed maple whiskey! I really loved that you get the whole tour from the bar and that I could sip the different moonshines during the whole thing. I’ve been to my fair share of brewery/distillery tours at this point and it’s a bit refreshing to not be walking all over the whole building learning about things I still don’t quite understand by the end. Let’s be honest, I’m here for the tasting. They had $ 4 cocktails available after we had finished our tasting, and I thought these were a pretty good deal. The best one we had was the Bloody Moon which was a Bloody Mary, mixed with their Serrano Cucumber Moonshine. Yum! I’m not usually a big Bloody Mary fan but I thought this cocktail was delicious. We were informed that the Bloody Moon actually beat out Tito’s and another popular liquor in a Bloody Mary competition. That’s pretty damn cool. All of this was absolutely worth the amount we paid. I highly recommend this place for a fun outing outside the city. Just be prepared for a bit of a drive and make sure you have a DD if you plan to have more than one of those cocktails!

A group of us bought the Groupon for Crystal Creek Moonshine. For a mere $ 19 you can get a «tour» for two that includes sitting at their quaint bar sipping moonshine and a very interesting hour the founders talk about how they got into the business as well as how moonshine is produced. During which you get to taste 5 of their infused moonshine flavors. You also get to order specialty drinks for only $ 4! Not only are they delicious but they are strong so pace yourself or have a dd! The Groupon also includes a free Crystal Creek tumbler glass. As one who had never tried moonshine before I can tell you that it’s actually quite good, especially in a mixed drink and I really enjoyed the experience and information. It was great for a date or just a fun little thing to do during a weekend with friends and I highly recommend it!

Such a fun place with a friendly atmosphere. The crew is extraordinary and willing to accommodate any party. Great for bachelor and bachelorette parties. After a few tastings, head down for the croquet and chess. If you’re lucky, you may even be greeted by the distillery mascot dog, Rocket. Awesome all around. We will be back. Thanks Shane, Max & Sam!

First off, Shane was great! He was super funny and entertaining. Max was also great, more quiet. I fell in love with Rocket, Shane’s dog. They are dog friendly, which is great! The educational portion was great. It was very informative yet not boring at all. All the moonshine was great tasting and the drinks that you can buy are amazingly good. We ended up buying two drinks and a bottle to take him plus an infusion kit! This is for sure a nice place to come, hang out and relax. They also have s nice place outside yo sit drink and relax

My friend purchased a distillery tour groupon for a few of us for Christmas. Luckily we scheduled our visit on a beautiful spring Saturday. It’s a bit of a drive and waze sent us on what I’d call«the scenic route». The distillery is on the west side of an industrial building with a car mechanic on the other side. Be on the lookout when you turn off the main road. Turn right into the fenced parking lot. The tour itself was really interesting. The owners are two enthusiastic guys in their early twenties and they clearly love what they do. They recently hired an assistant so this really is a three-man operation. They put in extensive research and worked hard to perfect their formula. The large handmade copper still is in itself a work of art. I didn’t know much about the process so I learned a lot. It’s all in one big room so really it shows how the moonshine itself takes a tour through the plumbing. Big bonus was I got to sample the different flavors while he was showing up how to make it! There’s a small menu at the bar for drinks. They have some nice infusions using flavors like coffee/pecan and Serrano/cucumber. Both are delicious and there’s a lovely wooded area with chairs to enjoy the drinks on a nice spring day. I bought two bottles and an infusion kit. In the end I probably didn’t need the kit since there are countless tutorials online. Infusing the ‘shine is a really cool way to make your own flavors, really impressing your friends In the process. I’ve already created two flavors: strawberry/basil and a blueberry/lemon. My next one is going to be vanilla, fig, with cardamom. If you tell the guys about the flavors and they like them they might start selling it and you can name it :) The moonshine itself is smooth and slightly sweet. I’m going to ask my local indie liquor store(Dany’s Liquors) to start carrying it! A nice bonus is a portion of the sales go towards building water wells in Ethiopia through the charitable group«a Glimmer of Hope». All in all it’s some tasty moonshine and a nice day trip to the distillery. Highly recommend them both.

Purchased a Groupon for two for an educational tour and tastings. The owners are pretty awesome! They were all super nice and made the whole experience worth the drive. I learned a lot about their process and admired their determination and work ethic. Best part is that they donate a percentage of their sales to charity. The moonshine was too strong for me(I’m a light weight!), but I loved it in a mixed drinks. I had The Honeymooner(moonshine, honey and lime) and The Blue Moon(their spin on a Bloody Mary). We were able to try small samples of 4 of their current moonshines. I would recommend taking a tour and trying some of these guys moonshine. It was a fun time! I know I’ll be asking for some Crystal Creek Moonshine at my local liquor store. Go check them out!
