This is not my favorite sushi place in Spokane! It’s not worth the money! It’s expensive for little sushi rolls! I won’t not recommend this place!

Probably my favorite sushi place in town. Chefs always greet you when you walk in and when you leave. Sushi rolls are delicious and unique! I’d definitely recommend trying the white tiger and Quinn roll.

We used to come to Toro sushi twice a month. I know they don’t miss our business because they are very popular and they do serve good food, the Kalbi(Korean short ribs) is the best in Spokane and they have a large variety of quality fish and rolls to choose from. Our problems started one dinner when they were out of tomago(chicken egg omelet) which is our kids favorite item. We brushed it off and the kids tried other things. We came in two weeks later and they were out of tomago, again. Weird. Next time we called first because the kids are patient but they really love the tamago, Toro was out again. This time I asked why are you out so often? It’s chicken eggs, sugar, soy sauce, and probably some other seasonings but nothing that couldn’t be found in the local Asian stores. He said they had broken the tamago pan and had yet to replace it. That was over six months ago. I have called once a month, and just got off the phone with them now, and they still haven’t gotten around to getting a new one. The man who answered even giggled on this phone call when he said no. It baffles me. We have started driving downtown twice a month instead. I wish they would buy the pan so our family could go there again.

Wonderful food with great flavor. Service was friendly and quick. The best sushi in the valley area that is for sure and will be returning in the future.

Unappetizing Las Vegas roll, very limited selection, and fish tasted frozen and flavorless, gyoza was over fried and chewy… my first time at the restaurant so may have been a bad night

First off I was pleased with the sushi. The pricing did feel a bit steep and I left feeling a little let down by the service. My waitress was less then social and I witnessed that of the male waiter that was working as well. It may just be a function of businesses in the Valley lacking a bit of the care that downtown restaurants put into hospitality.

Very beautiful place… Love the design! The sushi was fresh and tasted fabulous. BUT no thank you to the nasty fish eggs you put on my California rolls! I mean if I was a fish person I would’ve ordered something fishy. Everything else was great!

YEEEESSSSSSS This places is a gem. Had the Shogun and the Double Tiger roll. Both rolls were fresh and full of flavor. If your close, it is worth the stop! You won’t be disappointed. Yum I will be back next time I’m in town.

I’ve moved to Spokane from San Diego for school and couldn’t help but miss my love for sushi so I checked this place out. Turns out that it reminds me of home so well that I’m so disappointed in myself to not have given them 5 stars sooner. While a little pricey for a special roll, they certainly give you your bang for your buck because with just one roll I was stuffed! I usually get the Kato Roll, I love my spicy tuna! Before I’m served the waiters always give you a small bowl of miso soup. Tonight for dinner they seemed particularly overwhelmed with the amount of orders,(I was sitting at the sushi bar) and was just amazed about their ability to not get fired up. I thought maybe they were understaffed but they kept firing out each roll. That itself impressed me. They have the usual rolls like California or spicy tuna, but they have a nice selection of special rolls as well as deep fried ones. I usually like to enjoy a beer once in a while when I go there. To the guys at Toro Sushi, I’ll definitely be back!

The sushi was amazing ! We had the California roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll and then the Chicken Yakisoba. I honestly have had better Yakisoba but the sushi was pretty amazing… it is top notch.

First time trying this place and it will be the last time. Over priced with small portions. After looking at the prices I decided I would go broke eating as much as I would have liked to. So I went with just chicken teriyaki and two pieces of sushi. The chicken teriyaki was $ 13.95 for one small scoop of rice and a small dried out chicken breast with steamed cabbage, onions and broccoli chopped up like a coleslaw. The two pieces of sushi(eel) were $ 5.45 and they were small! That’s almost $ 3 a bite! With one beer came to a total of $ 25.38 before tip.

The food is good but the experience is a crap shoot! I certainly wouldn’t chose this restaurant if I didn’t have a lot of patience and didn’t have a lot of time. There is a high turn around with the wait staff, who always seem friendly enough, but cannot time a meal to save their life. Appetizers after the main course, tea after meal almost finished, miso soup never arrives, it’s frustrating! Isaiah M is not exaggerating I have lived through the very same scenario. I have them a 3 but more like a 2−1÷2

Food was average and service was really poor. Staff was very inattentive and food was overpriced. Ordered chicken teriyaki x 3 and was told 20 minutes later they don’t have enough chicken. Need to improve their attentiveness to their customers, would not recommend.

I came with my two kids and met with my sister and her two kids for lunch here. There was no one on the patio so we took it. A few rolls came in decent time, and maybe 20 min and no check ups later we got the others. Had to remind the server we had soup with the lunch combo. Not impressed with the roll presentation and the service was nothing to brag about. Flavor was pretty good. I’ll be checking out other spots before returning here

Oh good Lord! This sushi was PHENOMENAL!!! The Tootsie Roll was especially incredible… next time though, I’m going to have it as the dessert. I REALLY wanted to take some pictures but when the food came, we started devouring and before I knew it, everything was gone. If you’re ever in Spokane, you should take the time to head east into Spokane Valley and have some AWESOME sushi!

My fiancé took me here for my birthday. The atmosphere and service were great. The chefs even brought our food to our table and checked on us. Thank-you for making my birthday enjoyable.

I’m a sushi fanatic! I cannot live without amazing sushi! That being said, after having lunch here with my fiancé, I was greatly disappointed. I knew moving from Southern California to Spokane Valley meant I would have to begin my quest in finding the best sushi in town. I decided to try Toro Sushi because of their reviews. Unfortunately my quest isn’t over… Let me start off with the positives. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the customer service was excellent. The Miso Soup was delicious! You may be thinking so what? But trust me, not all Miso Soups are created equally. Now the bad… My fiancé and I ordered three rolls: Tornado, Candy, and Bunny. Out of the three, the Candy was the only one that was somewhat enjoyable. I was most disappointed by the Bunny roll… I’ve had better from a grocery store. For me excellent sushi must consist of high quality fresh fish and rice that’s made perfectly(not super chewy & dry). I love when it literally just melts in my mouth… people who’ve had fantastic sushi know what I’m talking about. Sadly non of the above apply to my experience. I wish I hadn’t wasted $ 50 but oh well… All I can do is carry on and hope to find a sushi spot that will satisfy my cravings.

My colleague and I were visiting Spokane on a business trip and chose Toro Sushi based on the 4 star reviews. I like the décor of the restaurant, it had a modern décor with a sushi bar and some booths and chairs and tables in the main dining area. We were instantly greeted by the the 3 Asian chefs behind the sushi bar. We chose to sit by the window, but it may have been too far for the servers, because the service was slow. We had to flag down our server several times and even our food took a while and it wasn’t busy at all, about 20% of restaurant’s capacity was full. Although the service was slow, the food was pretty decent. I ordered a chirashi bowl and it included salmon, seared tuna, tuna, yellowtail, whitefish, shrimp, egg, pickled daikon(daigo), seaweed salad, and ika(squid) salad. The portions were small for the price IMO. My colleague ordered a geisha roll, salmon sashimi, and seaweed salad. And we had 2 glasses of wine. Total, with tax and tip, was about $ 76 for 2. I don’t know what other options there are in Spokane Valley for sushi, but I would come back if I was in the area again.
