Years ago, this Shari’s location was the place to go for an awesome after-drinking meal or a great bright and early breakfast. It had been a few years since I had visited this location, and after it was remodeled, a few of us gave it a shot… twice. For both occasions, we hit the dinner hour. The first thing we noticed was that the new seating arrangements exemplified a restaurant trying to cram as many people in at once. I don’t go to restaurants to be really close to strangers or to meet other people, but their new seating arrangements cram you in so that you are very close to the table next to you. On both occasions, one of the meals at our table was not prepared according to how it was ordered. And on both occasions, my own meal was, for a lack of better terms, disgusting. The first time, I ordered the club sandwich, and the turkey or chicken meat that was used looked and tasted like something far from its description. The nearest comparison would be Spam. I had asked for no mayo to be added when I ordered it, but it came slathered with mayo. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and brought it back to me within a minute, a clear sign the cook simply wiped the mayo off of the bread. For my second visit, I ordered a breakfast meal with sausage. Everything was okay until I bit into the sausage, which was obviously raw in the middle. The other issue was the inconsistency with the service. I am not expecting a waiter to be nearby at all times, but when they don’t come back to check on refills or anything else for close to 30 minutes, I have an issue. The hardest part to swallow, next to my meals, was an obvious increase in prices since I had visited a few years ago. Shari’s was now trying to come across as a bistro/artisan-prices restaurant. We could’ve easily had a much better meal at a place like Applebee’s and paid far less than what we paid at Shari’s. Despite these experiences, I knew that this location had a banquet room, so two weeks prior to a work meeting, I called and booked the room. I had a large group that they said they could accommodate, but they told me that they would only be able to offer four items off the menu, which I could pick. I told them that members of my party would want the freedom of picking off the regular menu, and they said they would see if they could accommodate. After not hearing back from them as promised, I called them a few days before the meeting and asked again. The person on the phone was abrupt and said there’s no way they could budge from there four item menu. I canceled my reservation, called IHOP, and after telling me they could accommodate my large group, they stated that we could order off of their entire menu. IHOP made it happen, and their food was much more delicious.

Late night food at Sharis in Spokane Valley, off Sullivan in Spokane Washington. We really had an excellent meal and service. We love 24 hour diners and will definitely be back!

To start this I just want to say, when I came in I didn’t expect exceptional service. But when I wait ten minutes for a seat, I expect not to wait 30 minutes to order my food, especially when people who came in after me, got their order in and their food served, before I even got asked for my order. Then as I got frustrated and as i was leaving The waitress was trying to tell her boss it was my fault, because I didn’t order within a few minutes. How would i be able to order within less than 5 minutes, I haven’t been here in a long time. I was ready a few minutes after she asked but she never came back, but she continued to help other people. Needless to say, I really recommend not going here, the waitress was snooty and rude, go anywhere else where you actually are treated like a human being.

By far the worst shairs I’ve ever been too. The little red headed manager yelled at my fiancé after they over charged her for 2 pieces of French toast. And told her to never come back becaue she said she was gonna leave a bad review because he was making her experience so horrible with his attitude. In my business customer service is everything and if one of my employees Said that to a guest I would immediately fire them.

Gluten free friendly. My 1st visit was on April 29, 2014 for lunch. We went on a whim not knowing it was a chain. It was a pleasant surprise when I ask for a g free menu and was presented with many options. I was there with my mom and 2 Aunts one of which is a Celiac like me. We had an amazing salad. We didn’t have room for dessert. The portions are awesome and the staff was friendly. It was a Tuesday afternoon and I think we were the only guests at that time so I can’t say if it is a gong show when busy.

We dine here often, mainly because their NSA pie is outstanding. Their food is suitable. We came recently during family dinner hour & the serving staff appeared stretched to the limit. My husband had a kicker, for one, in the booth behind him plus other behavior not suitable for good digestion. :/He ordered, then some time later the manager said out of that, server approached saying she just heard it just then & apologized. We’ve seen this restaurant change since the downturn economy with fewer & fewer staff. Obviously, it’s effecting their historical good service. We are here tonight for pie, but it was a push for my husband to agree after last time. It’s been fine, with our help(we chose the table & ordered something simple), but u can’t mess up pie & tea. :)

Service was pretty awful. Server walked past us a dozen times without asking how anything is, took a long time to take our order and her personality was just flat and boring.

I’ve eaten at several Shari’s before. This one is the worst that I have eaten at. Service was«ok». Hash browns were burnt, our eggs were overlooked, gravy was watery and my chicken fried steak was rubbery and tasted like it had been cooked twice. I mean really how hard is it to cook breakfast. Pretty hard to screw that up. But they managed to. I will not eat at this place again.

When going to a chain like Shari’s, one doesn’t expect to eat the best meal of your life or even be amazed by the food. You go there because it’s late, or close by, or low key. I can handle that. I have eaten at many a Denny’s, Carrows, etc. before and knew what to expect. I think what really disappointed me was the prices in relation to the amount of food you got. Several times I have hit this place late at night with some friends and found that after ordering a burger or sandwich we were all still looking at each other and saying we were still hungry. I mean, 6 french fries with a burger? A small-ish burger at that… and for ten bucks? Breakfast portions seem a tad more generous(but not much). The pies are okay, nothing to rave about. You can buy an entire pie that tastes about the same at any grocery store for close to what they charge for a slice anyway. Service has always been good. A few price changes and maybe a bit more food and this place would be on par with the better all night chain restaurants.

Eaten here twice — sucked each time. Place had food on the carpets that we walked over to get to our table. Ordered our food — and it took over 45 minutes for it to get to us… and it was cold. I had them re-heat it. Service was pretty slack. I’m done with this location. been to others and their not so bad… but this one… give it a pass… I won’t stop there on a bet.

I have visited several Shari’s Restaurants over the years and they had become a favorite. Back in my college years, I would sit with friends, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes for hours while we discussed the woes of the world. Without divulging my true age, all I can say is THAT is ancient history. I have been to this Sharis recently three times now and tonight will be the last. First things first, when I have visited the establishment for dining for the most part the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I have found the dining area and restrooms clean and well cared for. I have never had to resolve an issue with the manager so I can not attest to their abilities. But now lets get down to brass tacks; the food. Almost every time I have visited this facility I have had an issue with my meal, from it not being served to the correct temperature to not being what I had ordered. The photos on the menu are VERYDECEIVING!!! They are NOT valid representations for what you will be getting. For example, the All American Panini that I ordered tonight. From the photo and the description you would assume that you will be having mounds of turkey and ham slices piled high on a special and savory flat bread with tomatoes and cheddar cheese intertwined all delicately pressed and warmed through. Sounds delicious right? WRONG. What I got was a stale piece of flat bread that had been doused with oil and then thrown on the grill to cook to a crisp, while they obviously fried about two pieces each of turkey and ham slices on the grill so they were hard, over cooked and dripping with grease. They put the meat inside the flat bread with piece of cheese and one small slice of tomato and called that my panini. I understand this is one example, but I can assure you, this is what you can expect at this Sharis Restaurant which unfortunately I will no longer be patronizing. It’s sad really, but good service and a clean establishment a good restaurant do not make! THEFOOD is! So if you choose to disregard my review and try it on your own, then please remember to have low expectations and perhaps you will have the meal of your life. I highly doubt that happening but I am a believer in small miracles… for the most part! I wish you all good eats!

I had never been to a Shari’s before, although I live near one. Pro: come for the dessert, smiling waitress, clean. Con: our adult meals were odd. The senior plate, pot roast tasted good, but the portion was small. The tortilla soup had no tortillas. The salad dressing was oddly brown. The kids had a great pancake meal and dessert. Go for the dessert, don’t go when you’re hungry. I think the photos are deceptive. Look better than the real thing.

These guys are right about average for a Shari’s. Sometimes the service is outstanding, sometimes meh. Food quality pretty consistent, and the place is usually pretty clean. The kids menu has a pretty good variety, and the regular menu is pretty good too. I can always find something that sounds good when we have gone here, and I never get the same thing. I do think some of their items are over priced but over all they are a good family value. One thing I think is a little weird. If you order a soup or salad, they bring it with your main entrée. It makes for a crowded table if you have a couple people with you. Plus, that is supposed to kind of lead into the rest of the meal. I supposed this is ok for some people, but it just seems odd to me. Anyway, solid basic dining experience overall.

Always available for a good breakfast and friendly staff though sometimes a few of them could move a little faster at getting back to our table to check on us. They always have coupons in the paper which helps cut the cost of going out.

The Shari’s in the Valley must have undergone some change of management or philosophy because last Sunday(June) was a vast improvement over my previous visit. Granted, we had gone because there was a coupon in the paper, but we were pleasantly surprised. The place was hoppin’ and we sat at the little counter for a change and was able to watch the fast kitchen staff and the even faster multi-tasking servers who were all friendly and offered up greetings as they zipped by. The food was good — omlete, hashbrowns, gravy and bacon — all very tasty, plenty on the plate and HOT –which is always a plus when its a busy day and it’s breakfast food — which seems to cool off quicker.
