Dave’s Bar & Grill

Breakfast: 1 biscuit, gravy and 3 lousy sausage patties, over 17 $. Food was terrible, service was good. The price was laughable. NEVER EVER WOULD I EVER GO BACK.

Dave’s is by far one of the best places to eat at in Spokane. The customer service is top notch and the food is outstanding.
On busy nights you will have to wait to be seated (10 mins max) but a waitress will make sure to offer you a drink and you can also grab free popcorn to munch on.
Not sure what to order? I strongly recommend you try the steak or the fish and chips. Both are out of this world.
I live In a different state now and can honestly say I miss this place dearly. Luckily, I’ll be visiting soon and Dave’s is on the top of my to-​do list.
By the way… Jay D. is clearly confused and would rather complain on Unilocal to get free food instead of actually communicating with someone at Dave’s when he has a bad experience.

Been a while since I’ve been here so with my sister & husband in tow, we went for lunch. Friday is special for fish & chips. Actually halibut & chips with choice of side. I chose clam chowder which is house made. At some time they have changed this choice to sliced potato’s instead of cubed and more milky than creamy. I’m not a fan of the change but it’s their choice to make as they see fit. I will most likely choose the coleslaw in future trips as it is usually good and plentiful. The halibut, as usual, was great.

Stumbled in here accidentally on super bowl Sunday to find a party that would make any fan envious! Clearly a friendly group of locals, great atmosphere, tasty food, cold beer, and great prices! Definitely coming back!

My husband and I came here today for breakfast with another couple. This was the first place we all thought of for awesome hangover food (it’s great without a hangover too). I don’t normally get the biscuits and gravy because I try to stay slightly healthy. Everyone got their amazing ½ order biscuits and gravy, sausage links, and eggs special. Not one plate had a single bite left on it. By far the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Love the bartenders and the servers. Daves will make you feel like family.

Great food and service as always. We had the ribs today and we’re pleasantly surprised but how amazing they are. We’ll be back again Thursday night for rib night.

Update — April 27, 2016 — Bankrupt mentality and Still crappy service.
I did my review around 5 months ago. I have had several bad experiences at this restaurant that I have been visiting for almost 15 years.
Well, because the «manager» Patricia sent me a private message saying that they are improving, I decided to give them not one, but TWO shots.
March 2016 — Still same «bait and switch» cheap, bankrupt mentality. They advertise specials and then tell you «There is no Baked Potato — we are out»
April 2016 — Another chance — and still no baked potato for the specials. Obviously their «specials» is a bait and switch tactic to get you to eat their «home cut» fries, which are actually from the frozen aisle of the local «cash and carry» restaurant supply store.
I have no idea why an old establishment like this would employ losers with a bankrupt mentality. THEY NEVER HAVE BAKED POTATOES ON THE «SPECIAL» DAYS. AND THIS IS DELIBERATE. BAKED POTATOES ARE MORE EXPENSIVE AND REQUIRE MORE CARE. FROZEN «CASH AND CARRY» FRIES THAT THESE LIARS LABEL AS «HOME CUT FRIES» ARE CHEAPER.

1 star. I would give it half a star if I could. Me — who would have thunk? I have been visiting this place for the past 14 years but alas, old Dave’s service has gone to the tanks.
15 years ago, Dave’s was Spokanites’ local favorite place. Alas, over the years, the place has hired young, airheads who have no sense of service. I suspect that these new airheads (with multiple tattoos and big attitudes) that they have hired are either offspring or cousins who would rather do something else than work here…
Their Dinner Specials start at 4PM. I have been going to this place on and off for the last 14 years for their dinner specials.
The last time I was there, it was 3:50 —-10 minutes before «dinner specials» started. I ordered a beer and a T bone dinner. The waitress says «dinner specials start at 4PM». I wanted to order the 16oz T bone and baked potato at the special price of $ 16.99. She says «it is $ 19.99 because dinner specials start at 4, and we don’t have baked potato until 4PM either — We only have fries.»
I should have finished my beer and just left, but I did not want to argue with her for 3 dollars, so I placed the order. Her tone was rather rude, but I did not take it personally and I just let it go, thinking it was just youth and inexperience talking… The order came to my table PAST 4PM, yet she charged me the $ 19.99. It is only 3 dollars, but this kind of behavior put a very bad taste in my mouth. To make things worse, the fries were soggy (they had no baked potatoes «until 4PM») — the «4PM baked potatoes» were probably ready by the time they had my steak ready at 4:10, but it did not occur to this waitress to get me the baked potato.
To make matters worse, the steak was not even close to the steaks I have had at Dave’s over the past 15 years. I ordered medium rare, and they brought it to my table beyond well done, tough and chewy.
I took a few bites, then just finished my beer and left my uneaten streak and untouched soggy fries on the table and left. Not even once did this waitress ask me how my food was.
This place has just lost a 15 year customer

5 dollars for a great meal! What a deal! Love this place!!! The specials are great! My fav is the burger special!

Holy busy, Batman!
This place was crowded with bikers and FUN! Food and drinks were good, but the atmosphere really sells it.

Another trip to Dave’s and it was really good. I dissed it a couple of reviews back, but it is back to its good old self. Four of us went and had fish and chips all around and it was uniformly excellent. Even my Norwegian FIL agrees. If you can satisfy him with fish, its good fish.
They were very busy, on a Friday night, but the service was quick and friendly.

Part of my enthusiasm may reflect how hungry we were. But we were seated and served quickly, the fries were smokin’ hot, the steaks were tender and juicy, and the price was great! We’ll be back!

We’ve had the fish and chips here 3 or 4 times now. Of course, the first time was the very best, but it’s still out standing. We went in for Breakfast Saturday and that was good, too, can’t even remember what I had. But I can tell you it’s one of the only places I know of that will give you actual half and half for your coffee! It’s become our go-​to place if we are out and about for lunch. Not many places make me this happy. And, if you are gluten free, the fish and chips are worth getting glutened for!

GREAT local bar food. Fish and Clam Chowder highly Recommended.

First visit to Spokane and read about Dave’s on Unilocal.Crowded & someone celebrating his birthday. We ordered the specials — bacon cheeseburger combo and filet mignon dinner. Outstanding! great service! As it turns out, it’s Dave’s birthday. Happy birthday!

Good food, service and drinks. Small place but serves very good food. Kids are welcome.

Food was good. Prices were reasonable. Service was prompt and fun. Atmosphere was loud. I imagined the eating experience there to be something similar to eating at a nursing home. 90% of the clientele were in their golden years — all hard of hearing, and all yelling at each other. It’s a neat little restaurant — I would return.

I love this place. Dave’s has become one of my personal favorite places to meet with clients or business partners for breakfast or dinner.
Great food, decent portions, and very friendly memorable servers. The bar is kept very clean and feels welcoming.
Kids are welcome to eat here, however I wouldn’t recommend large groups for the seating is tight.
Feel free to grab a bowl of popcorn while you wait for your food.
They have daily specials and I have eaten most of the menu. You can’t go wrong!

We’ve searched the area since moving here for good fish and chips. This is it! Perfectly battered (not too much, not too little), English style. We’ve only been there at lunch, but the waitress has always been friendly to us and everyone else, many who seem to be regulars. Even though it had been a few months since the last time we came, she remembered that I’d asked for extra tarter sauce before and brought it this time without being asked. The fish is so good that we’ve never ordered anything else, but keep threatening to because everything else that goes past us looks REALLY good.
From the outside this just looks like a hole in the wall. If you enter through the back the impression isn’t much better. I’m very glad it was recommended to us by a friend who eats here all the time because I don’t know if we’d have ever tried it otherwise. So, now I’m your friend, TRY IT!!!
