Respect to 40 Below bringing some diversity to Spokane. I was excited to hear of a Taiwanese shaved snow coming but coming from California where shaved snow is pretty popular, I didn’t have high expectations. The good about this place is that the snow is pretty soft and fluffy. They have a wide selection of flavors ranging from green tea, spiced chai tea, coconut, chocolate, etc. What I personally think is lacking are healthy options such as a wide variety of fruits and the authentic classic, condensed milk. Instead, you have a choice of toppings ranging from chocolate, gummy worms and popping boba. Syrups include pineapple, strawberry and other expected flavors. So the authenticity isn’t really their selling point here. But this is Spokane so I can’t expect to see a perfect Taiwanese shaved snow shop implant here. I felt the shaved fluff was weirdly dry, making me cough a few times as I was eating it. I believe the lack of syrup caused the airy fluff to cause it slightly difficult to eat. I recommend getting a syrup to prevent this. Overall service is friendly and the place is a nice spot to take a date. You’ll spend around 3 – 7 bucks depending on what size you get and how many toppings you add. I’m not sure if this place will be the new hot spot beating out all the froyo competition but it’s a nice addition to Spokane. Thanks for taking a risk and bringing new things to Spokane! Btw there’s currently a groupon deal for this place which is great for groups.

My husband and I stopped in to check out what exactly«snow fluff» is… and we were not disappointed! It’s amazing! The previous reviews describe it pretty well — but you really have to try it to see how good this stuff it. I’m pretty sure one of the ingredients is magic! It’s that good. Its dairy-free too, making it the perfect dessert for me. This is a family owned business, which I always love supporting. Next time you’re near the five mile shopping center you should definitely stop in and check these guys out. You’ll be glad you did! :)

Stop in for a snow fluff dessert like you’ve never had before! The snow fluff itself is delicious and there are plenty of flavors to choose from. Once you’ve chosen a flavor, customize your dessert with one or all of the toppings from the topping bar. The flavor combinations are endless. Use your imagination to dream up your own creation and the friendly staff are happy to assemble it for you with a smile. Be sure to hit up happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 – 5.

I was all jazzed to see a new contender throw their hat into the frozen dessert ring. I search out a lot of this dessert in Seattle, so it was cool to see people in Spokane, let alone the North side, be open to unconventional ice cream. However, fear not, you can still jam your snow full of candy and syrups. I tried the green tea first. It had a rich complex flavor, and the shaved ice process made for a really light enjoyable texture. I don’t know what the other reviewer(Chandler B.) was talking about. She obviously hasn’t had much green tea ice cream, so I give her palate three stars. The cake batter ice cream was also good, and the added strawberry boba went well with it. It was 3.50 $ for a small portion, which was plenty for me, 5.50 $ for a large. You can add toppings, but I think the snow stands on its own just fine. If you want a unique frozen dessert that doesn’t make you feel like you ate a pound of sugar or gallon of cream, this is a nice new option. I hope people give it a chance.

I went to their Grand Opening Celebration today around noon to get their«snow fluff» for $ 0.40. What a STEAL! Prices vary each hour and this promo only goes for today(friday 12⁄18) and tomorrow. Their Snow fluff is a mixture between ice cream and shaved ice. They have frozen blocks for each flavor and they attach it to their shaver and grind away. Then you get to add a topping and drizzle. Great concept and healthy alternative to ice cream. It is gluten and dairy free. I tried the green tea flavor… which was not what i was expecting. It had a strange flavor. That is why i gave them 3 stars. I couldn’t finish it. I will be giving them another shot and i will order a more basic flavor in hopes of tastiness. Good luck to this place! I’m always game for healthier dessert alternatives :)

40 Below is bringing Baobing(Taiwanese shaved ice) to Spokane and I couldn’t be more excited. This snow fluff is made from hemp milk, sugar, and natural flavors which makes it DAIRY and GLUTENFREE(aside from the Cake Batter flavor – my favorite). The atmosphere is cool, modern and a place where you not only want to come to, but stay. It may be December, but I’m gonna be here all winter long. :)
