The owner is oblivious to his troops being slaughtered. I went on a concert night, arriving at 5 before the peak concert crowd. There were a few people milling around the entrance and it was unclear exactly how to get a table. I found a hostess and she added my name to a list and kindly lead us to a couple stools to wait for a table. Quickly the waiting area filled and the restaurant was in full rush. I eventually went to the bar to get a couple beers while we waited. The bar had two tenders, both overworked and in a desperate rush. I stood a solid five minutes waiting when finally one bartender hands me a beer and says ‘here have an IPA’ and runs off again to other duties. That was considerate, trouble was I didn’t want an IPA and I needed two drinks anyway. Another 5 minutes and he comes by with a ‘what’s the problem’ look. ‘I need another beer’ which he pours then rushes off again. I’m completely confused at this point about what’s going on. Do I wait for the bill? Add them to my food bill? Are they complementary? I’ve no idea so I wait another long period. Finally I start waving cash and the bartender stops, charges only for the second drink and I can finally return to my stool. When I get back, my wife is upset, saying people are just walking in and taking open tables. I’m a little skeptical because there’s a list and surely the hostess is seating the people. So we talk and enjoy our beers for a while, when I observe a party leave a table and immediately another couple swoops in and sits down. My wife exclaims that’s the fifth time she’s seen it happen. At this point we’re 45 minutes into what we we’re told should be a 20 minute wait. So I get up to find the hostess and tell her of the couple that took the open table and that they aren’t the only ones. To her credit, she immediately marches over and kicks the couple off the table then seats a party from her list, and tells us we’ll be next. Another long while goes by which gives me the chance to observe. Interestingly the hostess is usually not manning the entrance, but instead helping waitresses deliver food. The waitresses are as overworked as the bartenders and grateful for the hostess help. Meanwhile, no one is controlling the crowd and people simply snatch a table as soon as one clears. The hostess is off helping the wait staff and consequently never has an open table to seat people. The situation finally comes to a head when two guys next to us point at a newly open table and say let’s take that one. In my frustration I shout ‘hey there’s a list’ and they quickly retreat saying they had no idea there was list, which I’m sure is true since the hostess was probably off doing other things when they arrived. We mention how long we’ve been waiting, which at this point is nearly 1 ½ hours. One of the guys says hey I know the owner, we’ll get you fixed up, and waves over a guy standing by the bar. I had earlier observed this guy, who had been standing most of this time by the bar, watching the crowd. Watching, but not seeing. He comes over and his acquaintance explains we’ve been waiting a very long time. The owner quickly dismisses the plea, saying he can’t intervene and needs to trust the staff to handle things as they see fit. Then retreats again to his perch. The owner’s position makes sense if he gave the staff the tools and manpower needed to successfully manage the business. Instead he’s understaffed on a night when 10,000 people are attending a concert right across the street, and has put no clear ‘wait to be seated’/‘seat yourself’ system in place. The patrons are confused when they enter the door and the wait staff is just trying to keep their heads above water. Meanwhile the general thinks the battle is going well, while his troops are being slaughtered on the plain below. Then the hostess walked by and is flagged down. We reminded her we’re still waiting and she remarked, yes it’s been a very long time. She told us to take the table the two guys had almost snatched, and then was off again. That was 90 minutes into the journey, and by the time we finished our meal, 2:40 minutes had passed since we walked in the door. The entire concert rush had come and gone in the span. Our pizza was average.

Do you like REALLYLOUDTELEVISION? Then this is the place to go. We were there today and it was deafening – we had to lean over the table to hear one another. The waitress was pretty bad, took forever to even order our drinks, but in her defense she was probably disoriented by the noise, Seriously, I have never experienced anything like it. The food wasn’t bad but with so many great pizza joints in Spokane I can’t see returning to this one.

You can’t go wrong ordering any of the pizza here. Our favorite is to order the bread sticks with the pesto ranch sauce. They offer a nice and crispy thin crust with a pretty decent red sauce. I love their pesto base. Great pizza, excellent bar, and a great atmosphere and décor.

This place has great décor, ample space and a really good vibe! Really like the old Cyrus O’Leary stuff. However, the food was really average. The three of us had different orders and each of us said the same thing… bland. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place. The arena area needs a high quality, casual restaurant beyond Clinks. This isn’t it.

You ever just drive around and decide to eat something? I’m sure half of my reviews have come from that. But, sure enough, after turning every corner in Spokane and listening to my father in law recommend we eat at every restaurant we drove by, we finally rolled into David’s. They had just moved from their University location to across from the Flour Mill. Inside had all the trappings of a sports/biker bar. TVs playing every baseball game available, a jukebox That looks like it’s weatherd it’s share of Fonzstarts. We found a quiet, unassuming corner and placed our order. Our waiter filled the waiting with tales of his whirlwind adventures. Soon, we had some cheese bread, beers, peperoni and margherita pizzas overflowing our table. Everything looked and tasted great, and our waiter continued to keep us entertained. David’s new location near the arena will serve it well, and if the service and food we received continue, they’ll quickly become a downtown favorite again.

We went there just before the Def Leppard concert. I knew it was going to crazy busy. I called ahead and ordered my pizza. It took one hour, but that is what I was told so I arrived 50 min later and it came right out of the oven. Taylor– who took the call was great. She took care of us and even came by the table to make sure we were all right. We had another server who was so stressed about the crowd– I am just going to make sure she doesn’t help us next time. I won’t discount or knock David’s Pizza for someone like that. Good food, great location and nice beverage choices.

Went there for lunch and had a French dip. I enjoyed the onions and the melted cheddar cheese. The service was horrible though. It took forever to get a refill on my sofa and my check. I would probably go back to try other menu items.

Wow! So glad that David’s is finally back on the North side again! Love this place and the new venue did not fail to impress! Love the look of the place, very clean and bathrooms well taken care of. Staff friendly and helpful. The FOOD!!! OMG! Love that they are still making amazing food. YUMMY! Probably the best Happy Hour in town; from 2:30 to 5 pm Monday — Friday EVERYTHING is half off! Wow, that includes pitchers of beer, food and drinks! We had a great time and loved the beer selection, the food, and everything was amazing. Can’t wait to come back again and try more of their impressive menu and beers!!!

Stopped by the new location last night. Owner Mark personally greeted us. Had a nice cold brew and the Thai Chicken pizza. Pizza was perfect. Super attentive server. Great spot if you are going to an event at the Spokane Arena or just hanging out near downtown.

Staff was rude from the moment I walked in. I felt like I was an interuption. Ordered a slice of pizza to go. They took it out of the display case, reheated and put in a box. It was terrible.

I was visiting my girlfriend in Spokane this last weekend, I road the train from Seattle. We went out on the town and ate out a lot. The last day I was there was Sunday, we walked around and noticed this cute firestationesqe pizza joint. We decided to give it a go, plus I really needed to charge my iPhone. We were greeted in a timely manner upon entering. We headed straight for the bar, Chris was the bartender and he gladly took my phone and charged it for me behind the bar. Thank you Chris! We were checking out the beer selection(13 beers on draft) sadly I cannot remember all their names but I do remember the prices… $ 4.25 for a 16ounce pint or $ 5.00 for a 22ounce pint. Lael and I each ordered an Irish Death from Iron Horse Brewery out of Ellensburg, WA. Irish death is a very potent beer all we needed was the one. Lol. The owner Mark came over and was very friendly and an all around nice guy. He mentioned that this was a relocation and he was open at another area in Spokane. This location has only been open about two months. Mark was so sweet he cooked us a pizza on the house. Half pepperoni and the other half a pesto tomato. We devoured the entire pizza minus one slice of each. Deliciousness!!! It was very sweet of Mark to buy us a pizza. I will for sure be back next time I visit Spokane! Thank you for everything Chris and Mark!

I wish I could give David’s 2 reviews: 1 for everything except the food and a seperate review for the food. Well, maybe I just will: 5 stars for the ambience, space, location, service & drinks 1 star for the food It’s a super cool space. Met friends after work and we had drinks in the sun. The waitress was perfect and the drinks were great. They have their own parking lot — which is nice and unexpected. Although we didn’t sit inside, I did walk around and the place is huge! We ordered 2 pizzas. I feel bad for whoever made them, assuming someone did. They were exactly like a cheap frozen pizza. I don’t know how you can mess up fresh baked pizza but I was truly shocked how unimpressed I was with the pizza. I will go back, but for drinks and maybe crappy pizza I guess.

Wonderful calzone, amazing service. The tag team of bar tenders were friendly and quick. Great selection of beer. This is what a pizza bar should strive for!

So excited. I used to go to David’s downtown and loved it. Walked in and no one greeted us. Didn’t know if we were to order at counter, like by gonzaga, so decided to sit at bar. Ordered and it took forever. Wasn’t that busy. Watched a family sit for about 45 minutes before they got their pizza. I got the meatball sub. Not bad but not award winning. The bartender was on the phone. No personal interaction. Didn’t know if u could just get a slice or not. Check out menu prices. I think too pricey for Spokane. They will get people going to events. But once they realize $ 27 for a large cheese they won’t come back. I hope they figure it out. I loved David’s.

Food isn’t bad but the service in person and on the phone is inattentive and scattered at best. They always seem as though they are being bothered. I was hoping for so much more from this legend.

Heard that these guys used to make great pizza. Stopped in this week for a pizza pie. They successfully recreated a faceless sports bar with blaring televisions, uncomfortable seating. I know they were known for being a Gonzaga pizza joint, but I thought they’d take the opportunity at their new space to improve the ambiance. Instead, it’s just another sports bar that seems to also make pizzas. Typical Hooters quality waiter experience(not a restaurant or graceful in the slightest). Alcohol sales seem to be the primary focus as we waited 40 minutes for our pizza to arrive. And when our pizza margherita did arrive, it was covered with pesto. Sub-manager told us «that’s how we do it» even though that’s not what is on the menu. He went off and talked to the manager, who then proceeded to come over and pretend ignorance, «I heard there was a problem here.» Very cliché. We explained that pizza margherita does not have pesto. «That’s how we do it». We offered to pay for our sodas, but he basically refused to make it right and bullied us to leave by his inaction to recognize the problem. So, sounds like a sports bar to me. If you want this rabble, go for it. Don’t expect timely or qualty pizza. We went to Veraci’s and got a real pizza from real waiters in a real restaurant.
