I am surprised to see bad reviews on here! I love this place, I am a vegan and there are a lot of vegan/vegetarian friendly foods here. I had the Hunan tofu and it was amazing, similar to a place I frequent in Seattle. Also had some white nice and some tea that was delicious. The soups are great to! The service was fast and our server was very friendly. I will be returning for the tofu again!

Came here on Christmas afternoon after going to the movies. It was one of the only restaurants open in town. It was super busy, especially with to-go orders, but we were seated quickly. The wait staff were very friendly and our food came out quite quickly. We ordered two appetizers and two of their combo dinners. I wasn’t super impressed with the almond chicken, but everything else was good(pea pod beef, kung pao chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, fried prawns)! I’d definitely try again.

The gods of Chinese take out have spoken! They have a great vegetarian friendly menu, too.

Stopped here because of the reviews. This food lived up to the hype. Everything comes in large portions and so we ordered a side of fried rice instead of a full order and there was plenty for two. The egg foo young was the biggest and thickest I’ve ever seen. Yummy! I also tried the potstickers based on a previous review. Meh. But the pea pod beef is not to be missed. Wow. Just wow. The service was terrific. We were there at 4 pm and not many other customers were about so I’m sure that helped. I would definitely go back!

The special chow mien with chicken was fantastic! I heard it was better with beef, but I can’t imagine it being any better than what I was served. Service was fast and friendly which contributes to the cozy and spacious atmosphere. I’m looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time in Spokane and the first place I ate at; I couldn’t have been happier. The staff was very warm, friendly, and welcoming into their very clean and well laid out restaurant. Our food choices did not disappoint with dishes full of flavor. I will definitely be back!

Normally I get angry when I tasted bad but still edible food… but this time I ordered a «spice beef» the first item on their Chinese menu. it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted… so I put down my chopstick lost my appetite on Chinese food for first time

I am so incredibly confused by the 4– and 5-star ratings of this restaurant. I ordered the Szechuan chicken and it was so disappointing! I ordered takeout and it came in a greasy styrofoam container leaking all over. It tasted bland, greasy, and really just unremarkable. It certainly was not worth the cost. I ordered also the egg drop soup. It was acceptable. I will not go back to Peking North and in all honesty, wish I could get my money back.

This used to be a really good restaurant for Chinese food. I loved their noodle. but the food quality is not consistent now. Sometimes it’s too salty.

Best Chinese food ever. Very authentic and very tasty food. I came from Seattle, and I would say it’s better than all the Chinese food restaurant in seattle. Awesome service as well. Strongly recommend!!!

I ordered delivery via Grubhub, so I couldn’t return the meal. The spring rolls were oozing grease and one of them had been moldy before being fried… I spit out the one bite that made that clear. I will not eat here ever again.

Went here on Easter. Not busy at the time, very good food. Everything came out hot and quick. Plenty to eat. This will be a revisit by me.

Best Chinese food I have had in any American city thus far. Kung pao beef rocks. Best to order a bottle of wine, rather than separate glasses. Much less expensive that way.

I went there for my friend’s birthday a month ago. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. It tasted gross and uncooked. So I complained to the head chef about it. He was very nice and did everything he could to make the dish taste better. Sadly, it still tasted gross. Wouldn’t go there again.

Since when did Chinese food become so expensive? I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, it’s not the usual fried pieces of chicken, it’s a chicken filet fried and sliced up. Kind of weird and not what I was expecting. The taste was off. They charge you extra for fried rice as well. Husband got the chow win special, said it was good, nothing to write home about. This is the second place we have gone to today for Chinese food and yet I’m still not happy. The place seemed a little weird, to much decorations. But it’s better then others that don’t have any decorations. We are somewhat new here to spokane, and have yet to find our go to Chinese place.

Interesting place. Had been in to try to have a late lunch with daughter some many months ago but no one came out to greet us. There was no response to my shouts of «Hellooooo!», although we could hear activity in the kitchen. After waiting five minutes, we left. Today, I was on my way home after spending the day exploring downtown Spokane and wanted to give this restaurant another chance. Again, there was no one at the front of the house but there were sounds drifting from not too far into the dining room. After calling hubby for his choice, and waiting several more minutes without being helped, I went into the dining area in search of assistance with the menu I found on the counter in my hand. I couldn’t see more than three tables occupied. Both waitresses saw me as I made eye contact with them and I motioned to the menu in my hand. As I started walking back to the front, the younger staff person caught up with me and asked if I wanted to order to go. Finally, help. Once the orders were placed, my food appeared all packed and ready to go, in less than ten minutes! Amazing! There were just two entrees as we try to keep our meals light. Kung Pao Beef Nice sized portion with generous amounts of pepper, onions, and mushrooms accompanying the slices of beef. It was ordered at spice level 3 and had some petite, black chili peppers sprinkled throughout. It looked delicious but tasted meh. Hubby did get a few beads of perspiration generated on his forehead from the chilis. There was a generous amount of thin gravy. Broccoli Chicken Gererous amounts of tender, bright green broccoli, carrots, some bamboo shoots, onions, and slices of water chestnuts with a decent amount of cubed, white chicken meat. Mild but flavorful. It was also swimming in a thin gravy. Each entrée could feed two as I have half of the chicken dish in the refrigerator now. However, each comes with just a literal cup, 8 oz., of rice. In our case, white rice, that was hard to the bite. Two cellophane-wrapped fortune cookies rounded out the meal. I would return for the Broccolli Chicken but pass on the beef dish. Maybe calling ahead for take out might work better to attract staff attention. Maybe also ask to see the Chinese menu that I wasn’t aware of that might still exist.

The atmosphere is nice. The food was good, but the Kung Pão Chicken lacked peanuts and the chili peppers were burned leaving the rest tasting burned. But the other items on my plate were amazing. Will try again

If you love cold Chinese food and inattentive waiters, this is the place for you! We arrived at 12:40(ish) on a Monday afternoon. Was seated right away, which was nice. Then we waited. Five — ten mins later(thankfully we had much to discuss while we waited to place our order and get our waters since Ray Rice was just released from the Ravens for beating his wife) the waitress came back with waters and took our order. After another fifteen min wait, soups finally came out. Waters are empty. (where is the waitress? A big hairy dude without an apron or shirt noting he worked there had gone in and out of the kitchen more than our ninja waitress… that should have raised some concerns, but dirty bikers need love and jobs too, right?) Twenty more mins we wait with dirty dishes on table and eventually got refills on our water. Empty soup bowls left on the edge of the table throughout the meal even though waitress walked past us a dozen times.(This shouldn’t have been surprise, i suppose, since every table around us was filled with dirty dishes from patrons of lunchtime past… sounds like a crappy Charles Dickens knock off of the takeout variety). Water was empty yet again(apparently we were using water to sate our hunger). Fifty-five mins after arriving our food comes out. It looks DELICIOUS! Looks were deceiving. The food was cold. Not just room temp cold, no. It was COLD. Cold as if it was sitting in the window for, oh i don’t know, twenty-thirty mins waiting to be picked up, maybe. The waitress disappeared(at this point i’m rather confident she’s part ninja). Having to be back to work in ten mins and starving, I ate the cold food. When she came back to leave the check, she asked how everything was, I said«It was col…» she walked off, not caring in the least. And you don’t even want to get me started on the bathrooms(good God, someone needs to call the Health Department on that). So, to sum up my dining experience… Long wait time. Horrible service. Cold, but tasty, food. Nightmarish bathrooms. Rating: D + but only because the soup was decent and food actually tasted good, the temp was horribly wrong though.

We came in with a large group and waited for over 30 minutes to be served. About 15 minutes in we did manage to get some ice water in dirty cups and a chance to look at the dirty menus. I had been there before and the food was rather ordinary and unremarkable. Go to Kay Lon down the street: much better food and not very busy.

This is the third Chinese food restaurant in Spokane that I have tried since moving here and I would say it is good, but definitely not as good as the Chinese food I’m used to having in L.A. I had: Potstickers: very good, and really big. Orange Chicken: I won’t be ordering it again, too sweet and chicken was dry. General’s Chicken: Good flavor, but again, chicken was dry. Chicken Low Mein: Good, I would order this again. I felt the prices were pretty high compared to the other places in Spokane that I have tried, but you do get a good amount of food, although most Chinese food places do. I was going to have delivery via ordering online, but on top of a $ 5.99 delivery charge, there was also a service fee per item you order, and mine came out to over $ 9. I feel charging over $ 15 for delivery is ridiculous.
