Amazing bakery and a great spot for s sandwich. The bread here is amazing. Love, love the Rosemary bread. The desserts we have had are also some of the best around. This place is worth the wait if you come in and the line is long. Do yourself a favor and try the spinach quiche!

This is my favorite bakery in Spokane… and the lunches are good too. Love the savory croissants… and coconut cake! If only they could get the oder/service process nailed down! No one knows where to stand to order… people are served out of order… you can’t see the food in the case because people are standing there hoping someone will help them. If only the owners would visit Lindamans, Huckleberries… somewhere to see how the process works!

Petit Chat is really nice to have in the neighborhood. Been coming here for years. The bakery items are superb and they’ve made items at my request occasionally. The deli salads are delicious as are freshly made sandwiches. The above 30 yrs old staff is always pleasant. However, consistently(although there are exceptions) the younger staff is not well trained in congenial customer service. And across the board the service is INCREDIBLY slow. I keep coming here because the location, the ambience, and the food are worth it and appreciated. Clientele is neighborhood-mixed age plus Whitworth students. But I can only give it 4 stars(and sometimes I want to give it 3) because of the customer service and slowness. That leads to a frustrating experience.

Loved this place. Took my daughter there this morning for her birthday breakfast. The cinnamon roll she ordered was nearly as big as her head. She couldn’t even get half way through it. The danish I had was awesome too. We also really liked how cozy it was. They had booths available as well as big cushy chairs. And the staff was really nice.

Cute little place with limited meal offerings, but that was ok. We did enjoy our selections and they hit the spot. The view was great. The service was top level. Would definitely visit again.

First I observed Penny tell a customer he needed to come to her if he wanted to place an order, and that if she needed to come to bakery area she will walk over there. Penny’s attitude and service was equivalent to the ice queen herself. Second I order2-egg breakfast sandwiches with ham and cheese. Well got the ham n cheese but no eggs, happy b-day to my daughter breakfast! No ice in ice machine … Oatmeal cold, and presentation was something a10-year old could prepare … Then the server said they could only bring one container of milk for the oatmeal because there none clean Now if the place was super busy I could understand some of this, but it wasn’t ! Get your act together or I will transition to Panera’s when it opens! Signed family of loyal customers! The previous owner should give you some lessons in a list of business practice and customer service!

Such good pastry! We grabbed a few pastries before a road trip to Walla Walla along with some coffees and everything was good! Totally worth the trip in the other direction!

I want so badly to like petite chat. It’s a local bakery on the north side of spokane which is something needed in the neighborhood… however the positives end there. I have gone several times over the last several years wanting to give it another chance especially when I heard that the ownership changed. The employees continue to display a complete lack of knowledge on any of the products, are put out when asked questions even though I was the only one customer in the building, don’t interact positively amongst themselves and provide a poor product. I took my mom here most recently the day after Mother’s Day to have lunch. First half of the sandwiches were unavailable-which is fine I own a business and understand things come up– we picked a sandwich out and it was definitely nothing to write home about. The sad part was it came with potato chips that were literally crumbs and a sassy red headed waitress. It wasn’t even worth the groupon(which provided a 50% discount). Note to the owners from a business owner: invest in quality employees, require training and that they actually sample the food so they can make recommendations or at least know what is in different items, your baked goods are great but analyze your stay and eat menu it is lacking flavor and any specialty unlike your pastries, integrate a cleaning routine the place was filthy and again it was empty. I wish you the best of luck and again want to support a local north side business but you have to step up your game.

Service is often very slow, sometimes sandwiches out of the hot case are falling apart or dried up and not to mention prices keep going up over the last two years. They do bake good bread here and is available at a variety of locations in Spokane, other than that it’s a favorite of the whitworth area mainly because it’s the only thing in this part of town. I’ve been by here a lot but will now skip it as I’d rather just go downtown for something better.

Hiked down from top of 5 mile prairie to this wonderful café & deli. Can’t believe I have never been here, awesome place for morning coffee, brunch or anything to do with bakery. Staff is excellent, atmosphere is a happy place. Recommended for all ages with a hearty bakery appetite.

A great spot to pick up fresh, well-made breads. Favorites are the whole wheat loaves which are hearty, and baguettes with have a nice crust. If you request, they will slice your loaves for sandwiches.

WHOASPOKANE. Best bakery in my book. We spent, oh, twenty minutes deciding what to have. Cannoli, muffins, streusel, danish, croissants, cookies, sweet breads, oatmeal.. .it really took that long. I ended up with a palmier(I’ve had better) and a cheese cloud danish which was spectacular. My sister got a maple/pecan bun. Since it was our first time in, the server brought us over an orange roll that was really tasty, not too sweet or fake tasting, it tasted like orange zest and quality, not Winco type muffins. Cozy atmopshere but nice enough for a business meeting(we saw a few) and even a french class practicing ordering in restaurants. The parking lot was stuffed, we had to park on the road, a block away so plan for that. Nice place though, pretty fair prices. I think it’s a great place to grab a quick snack. But they also have oatmeal and breads to go for later, at home. A+

Love the braided bread. They only make it on friday’s and saturdays. It’s such a treat to get fresh baked bread. I’m not a flowers kinda girl, just bring home some fresh bakery bread and my heart and face lights up :) They also have honey and cream as available options for your coffee and any place that gives me honey and cream for my coffee get’s an A+ in my book. Every other pastry I have tried from there has been great. Parking is horrible because it’s always FULL. But, that is a good thing too. It’s worth it.

Their hot sandwiches were awesome! I was too stuffed for dessert, but I will be back again to try(all) those pastries.

Simply amazing. The orange cranberry scone is to die for. The apple racetrack is amazing. And the English muffin sausage sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. Their coffee is really good too! Buy yourself a loaf of bread too when you go. Fresh and delicious! Great atmosphere!

As an out-of-towner(ee?) I came across this bakery with some friends after a wedding. The staff had reserved two large tables for the post-wedding breakfast hangout. The entire staff was quite helpful and attentive to our group. Even though they don’t really provide table service they made all of us feel welcomed and appreciated. The only real downside was how to order at the counter. Trying to order a pastry, a breakfast sandwich, and a quiche seemed to take three different people. It was quite confusing the entire ordering process. I will for sure go there again when I’m in the area.

I have not been to this Bakery as yet but today I had a sandwich made from their bread and omg it was sooo good. I know its their bread because I asked this restaurant where they got their hoagie bread, and this is where they said. Yummm so soft and delicious.

I really wish I would love this place more. They have great execution of a cute café, a warm and welcoming space, hearty menu, delicious and delicate pastries, and a whole line of different breads and other baked goodies. My problem though is primarily with the service. For starters, their ordering system is fairly flawed. If there’s even just a few people it seems to take forever to order based on how it’s set up. You really have to stand right in the middle of chaos just to read the menu. And then you’re really screwed if you need something quick and simple like a box, you’re stuck waiting around in the makeshift line. Secondly, customer service generally isn’t really what I would call friendly. Each time I have been here it seems like the staff has a bit of an attitude and I definitely sense they get frustrated when people have questions about the menu or are still deciding. All the more reason to fix their ordering system process! My last visit I ordered a latte here, and simply asked what flavors they have available, since they were not posted anywhere. The woman said«oh we’ve got everything.» That’s not really an answer given the 3 standard flavors I asked for, they did not have. Not to mention, someone else in my party ordered a caramel latte, only for them to come and say they were out of it later. I do indeed enjoy this place and like what they have to offer, I just wish it wasn’t such a complicated experience. And a little better service would go a long way.
