I am adding to my review, I love the food and drinks here. It also is incredibly convenient but I come in almost every morning and to get a tea and bagel to go can take upwards of 15 minutes, the staff are all very nice but so relaxed it crosses into just slow. I continue to come back because of the close location to my home but might have to switch the the rocket by work on garland

Cookies are okay, last time I had coffee there it was pretty good but it’s a hit and miss depending on the person making it. The girls that work there were not friendly at all! The one with the eye brows act like she didn’t want to be there and seemed annoyed when I ordered. No smile, no thank you, didn’t even respond when I said thank you, just asked the next customer what they wanted. She needs a lesson in good customer service. or a new job where she doesn’t have to provide it.

A nice atmosphere for reading and homework. Very eclectic crowd of people, which I think is a sign of a good place. Drinks fairly priced. I like how they are open until 8pm. Too many places in Spokane close before this.

This Rocket location has a hip vibe and a wider selection of food than I’ve seen at any of the others. The barista was very nice when I stopped in, and named off all of their bagel and cream cheese options for me when requested without any begrudging. I just got a hot chocolate(it was late people, I don’t always drink h.c. calm down) instead of coffee, and an Asiago bagel with the pesto cream cheese(my favorite combo) and was happy with both. Prompt and friendly service, and was able to sit and read peacefully for an hour or two in their ample space. Great place to chill, and they are open until 8 pm(almost unheard of for a coffee shop in Spokane!) so it’s a great place to meet up with people after school or work.

Not only did the gal taking my order(yesterday, 12÷27÷15) not offer a smile, thank you, have a nice day etc. etc., I was uncomfortably subjected to both barista’s rant about whom they liked and disliked when it came to their co-workers. I mean, I get it– we all have that one or two not-so-awesome co-workers but lets be professional and keep it to yourselves… especially in front of your customers. I’m sorry I left a tip.

Again my point is proven. I thought I’d try another go at the Rocket Bakery but alas the service has not improved. The girl at the counter couldn’t muster a smile and didn’t acknowledge any thank you we gave. She did manage to yawn and frown however and seem thoroughly annoyed at each item we added to the order. Must be hard to punch a button on a screen since you weren’t the girl who actually made our drink. I found it difficult to leave my dollar tip since you weren’t gracious about that either nor did you thank us at all. I’ve been in customer sercice for 15 years. I know how it’s done. I’m not bitter about my job and you’re far younger than I. Wake up and smile or get a job that doesn’t require personality. Dec 28, 20159am

Giant windows letting in copious amounts of light in the winter, lots of seating, and a huge variety of breakfast and lunch items make this a favorite of students and workers alike in downtown Spokane. It’s got a well-loved aesthetic(read: divey), but it is a spacious, high-ceilinged place to meet up with a study group, do some work, or snag a coffee and journal about your feelings. Rocket baked goods(especially the bagels with flavored cream cheese) are crave worthy and this location has beer and wine as well. Their internet is sufficient for basic use and free parking in the lot just to the east of the Carnegie building.(Restrooms require a request for a key and a lengthy tromp down a hallway FYI).

Wonderful place. The pink cookies are my favorites. They have lots of delicious treats to choose from and it’s comfy inside the locations. The family that own this place are wonderful people too, and it feels good to support the good ones. Give it a try, you will like it!

Great service. Quick, friendly and priced well. Nice and close to my office and one of the few places downtown that opens at 6 am. Awesome coffee to start my day out. Additionally, it’s a local place and not a chain so there is a lot of character(including the barista). Overall — a must stop

enjoyed the place, the first few times. But, now that i ahve gone there a few times. This location sux. The staff includes a girl who is rude, seems like she is trying to pick up guys while working. if you are older, married, disables, be prepered to be ignored by this person… Also ordered a coffee drink and it came 30 minutes after breakfast… If you order coffee and do not tip them. They will give you a scowl. Why the hell am i tipping someone to make me coffee?

The sanwitch was great, but they need to keep it a little cleaner & keep the bathrooms unlocked on a Saturday.

I live a half a block away; and rather wheel myself a mile to a more friendly café. I hate the atmosphere; pretentious with out merit or need. Food sub par at best. For the life of me I can’t figure out why people go back to this place. I don’t know their system, but more often then not pastries, bagels and bread taste old or even stale. The one on first is a HUGE pain if you’re physically handicapped and the four or five times despite being in a chair haven’t gotten help from employees. OTHER customers stop their doings and have assisted me and be done… after they helped me…5 min. later staff asked once if I needed help. I don’t expect the royal treatment; and truly I tip heavily for good service or what I call extra help I may require for my disabilities. I don’t feel I have too, I think it’s a nice way to say thank you. I just wish this place had more consistent quality of food and service. It’s expensive and has always been a disappointing experience. I truly hope they can step it up! Location is killer! More vegetarian options would be greatly appreciated; some veg proteins like morningstsr bacon or sausages for veggie protein would be really awesome.

I’m gonna be honest, they don’t have the best coffee in town… BUT! And I do mean but, they have a great atmosphere with locally baked goods. It’s like some café you’d see in a movie with various kinds of art and décor. They have great quiche and even better bagels. Get the blueberry cream cheese too!

I love the Rocket Bakery! To me, they are the ‘big city’ cafes in Spokane.(Every big city has some awesome cafes that seem like a backdrop for a TV show: interesting/attractive staff, artsy-fartsy snacks and non-coffee beverage options, good coffee, excellent atmosphere, and fascinating clientele.) I like the Howard St. Rocket Bakery better, but this one is almost as good. The location is good but the two times I’ve been there it was so busy and noisy I decided to get my coffee to go and hang out elsewhere. It’s gotta be good if it’s busy, right?

the bagels are amazing. It’s a good place to enjoy the weather downtown and a kind of landmark for being the first Rocket Bakery, I do believe? The«new» staff is incredibly sweet and take the time to make a good cup of joe. For awhile there I don’t know where they were hiring some of the employees? But those Goonies are gone. Thank you Rocket for always being so kind to me. And I will always repay the service as being your loyal customer. Also, don’t forget about the pizza bagels.

Very hip and cool atmosphere. However, the service isn’t great. We ordered three simple drinks and they forgot one. They couldn’t be bothered to see us standing at the register to ask about the missing drink. I don’t normally receive such terrible service at a Rocket Bakery. Maybe they were having an off day. They do have belly buttons just like the rest of us!!!

It may not look like much from the outside, but Rocket has a lot going for it! Firstly, so much space and lots of natural light. Your laptop is welcome here, with free wifi and all. Next, the menu: besides a big list of coffee and pastries(and the BEST chocolate-dipped biscotti I’ve ever tasted, and did not break a tooth on) there’s a big deli case of house-made pasta and grain salads, sandwiches, and quiche. The ambiance is nothing too exciting, but the coffee + wifi + space + good food combo makes it a winner for anyone seeking a comfy coffeeshop-as-office situation.

This coffee shop would have gotten four or five stars from me if it weren’t for the snotty service I received. Service is not too much to ask for, even when it is busy. It should be expected that on a Sunday morning a coffee shop will be busy, so there is no excuse for being treated like I’m being an inconvenience for simply wanting to make an order. I felt like it ordering an extra danish was something I had to trouble my overstressed barista for rather than having her take an extra second to upsell me and make sure I get what I want. This poor service has left a bad taste in my mouth and I WILLNOT be returning to the Rocket bakery any time soon. Nor will I be recommended any one else to go there.

I go to this place often because it’s right by where I work. It is a bit spendy but to me worth it because it is local and very friendly service! Spokane needs more places like this and less corporate chains. Pros: Great Chai Fresh ingredients Fast service Friendly people Good spot to do homework Comfortable place to socialize Cons: Little pricy No A/C during summer
