Very good food, lots of options even if you have dietary restrictions, fun atmosphere, and great menu. The location is great too. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because the portions are a bit on the small side in my opinion. But if you don’t eat large portions you are set!

Saranac was suggested as a good local restaurant by a staff member of the hotel I stayed at. I started with the house salad which was refreshing and had the curry salmon for my main dish. The salmon was perfect. I would definitely go back.

4 stars is spot on. The food is good, the atmosphere is good, and they’ve got a nice selection of drinks available. All that said, service wasn’t as good as I would’ve hoped. Its a good place to grab some good food, but there’s equally good options around.

We took some dear friends of ours out to dinner at the Saranac Public House last night before a show at the INB(literally walking distance). The food was delicious! Wow so impressed! We started our night with the hummus and bbq pork appetizers along with several delicious beers and my own glass of chardonnay. The presentation was beautiful and the portion sizes just perfect to wet our appetites for the main courses. For main courses we ordered the tofu coconut rice bowl, the noodle chicken bowl, a burger and the pulled pork. All was well seasoned and perfect temperature. Server was obviously busy but did a great job checking in with us. We were happy. The inside of the pub is beautiful. Great ambiance and atmosphere for a pre-INB dinner. Will visit again. :)

We love going on Sundays! It is Happy Hour all day and they have great beer and cider on tap! They are also vegan and vegetarian friendly which I LOVE! Every time we have been here we have had great food, don’t miss the pretzel!

I was actually excited to try this place based off of the reviews here and the pictures of the food so I made the journey downtown with my wife and newborn. Walked in to Saranac Public House on a friday night at 6PM. Resturant was pretty empty. Upon entering, a male employee made eye contact with us, no smile and no greeting. Such a cold reception… I was confused by the layout. Where was the hostess? I guess it’s seat yourself? We looked for a table and eventually sat down in the back, kind of near the bar. And then we waited… and waited… and waited some more. After over 5 minutes of awkwardly sitting there with no menus, some fellow customers staring at us and the staff completely ignoring us, we got up and walked out. Still no acknowledgement from anyone. While we were sitting there it was almost as if two female servers were deliberately ignoring us and making a conscious effort not to look over. If this is how they run their business then they will never get a dime from me. We ended up walking over to the Red Lion where our existence was actually acknowledged and we were able to get some food. I will never be back to this restaurant and it’s confusing layout and indifferent staff. There are too many other great places to eat in Spokane. Wasn’t crazy about the resturants design anyways. It was too bright inside and not intimate at all. Trying way too hard to be trendy… Wonder if the food was any good? Guess I’ll never know.

When you can impress my husband with a meatloaf, you’ve done an amazing job! Great yaki udon stir fry also. Will definitely come back!

The service at «Saran Wrap» is generally okay to pretty good. It does however, seem like there’s never quite enough waitresses to handle the business. I usually come in and have a bite to eat and a beer before catching a movie at the magic lantern. I believe this restaurant could improve by adding additional servers and having a more sophisticated menu that is more detailed. I have renamed the restaurant«Saran Wrap» because I can never remember what its real name is…

I mean, yeah it was ok. The atmosphere is ok. Nothing made me go wow. Good place to pound a couple beers and have a nice walk on the town. If you can’t get in to any of the other places in the area, this will do fine.

I was at the Sanarac on Friday night for a Christmas get-together with co-workers. It was my first visit there. I was impressed with the service which was very prompt(though picking up the check payment was a bit slow). I had the pork tacos and they were wonderful. The salsa was a bit hot and I had no idea it wold be because I have never eaten them before. I survived though. The bean soup served with it was was bland however. I did not finish that soup because of that. I tried a friend’s peanut butter pie. It was quite frozen which made it impossible to even take a forkful easily. It was also overly peanut butter in taste. I will warn people that the noise level in this restaurant pub is HIGH. Especially on busy weeknights. People who want to talk with their dinner partners will have a little difficulty and people who are hard of hearing? You will hear nothing said to you with the amount of talking, tvs with sports playing, and the music playing. Just fair warning. I will probably come back in the future because it was an overall good experience and it is the perfect place for veggie/vegans and meat eaters to eat at together.

We came to Spokane just for two days and this place had really good reviews and vegan options so give it a try. I was really excited to try the pretzel with vegan cheese, along with the vegan mac & cheese. The pretzel was really good and the mustard was also very flavorful. The vegan cheese was good although oddly enough it kind of had a flavor of ham which is weird. The vegan mac & cheese was OK for vegan cheese. I only wanted a couple bites and it was quite a big dish, and would never order it as just a meal. I had also ordered the Thai peanut dish that had tofu, coconut rice, bell peppers and peanuts. That this was really good and I would definitely recommend it. My partner got the veggie yaki soba which was just OK. Overall, it was pretty good and there were great vegan options which is really rare, and greatly appreciated!

Yay for a pub that has a great beer selection and plenty of vegetarian options! They go a step further and even have vegan options, so there really is something for everything. Meat eaters? They have you, too. We’ve tried a variety of options here, and so far my very favorite is the Thai rice bowl. I also have enjoyed their flatbreads, and the tacos weren’t bad either. I like that they can provide a range of different styles of foods and do them all fairly well. That isn’t necessarily easy. Plus, I am a huge fan of happy hour during the day on the weekends. I love a pub on a Saturday afternoon!

I like this place for lunch. It seems to get slammed at night. My favorite thing to get is the chips, salsa, chile verde stew, and a couple beers. Laid back vibe, wait staff is super cool, but they care about how the food tastes.

This place is as good as it gets. Awesome Thai Rice Bowl with coconut rice and chicken. They soak the rice in coconut milk… yeah… Also, don’t miss out on their Mac & Cheese!!! Great location in the Saranac Commons building(full of great bakery, coffee shop, and Mediterranean restaurant) Seat yourself for lunch, chill environment, quick service, really nothing to complain about. 5 stars all the way.

Atmosphere reasonable. Food was just ok. I ordered the vegetarian chili– flavor was good, but the soup came out barely warm enough to melt the cheese. My travel partner ordered the house pie flatbread, he also mentioned the food being just warm/cool. Now let’s talk about the service and wait times. It was seat yourself Tuesday. We found our seats, it was 5 to 10 minutes before we were handed menus by Michelle, she told us Mike would be our server. It was another 5 minutes or longer until Mike showed to take our drink order. I think you can see the trend here, clear through getting the check. Food and Atmosphere not that special to deal with overly slow service. Let me say Mike was a pleasant young man.

Ate lunch here last week, it’s just a few blocks from the convention center. I had the strawberry chicken salad which was tasty but had a bit too much vinaigrette on it. My husband had the stir fry which he liked. We also tried the pretzel appetizer, I though the pretzel dough was bit odd but the cheese dipping sauce it came with was quite wonderful. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as well.

This was an easy walk from the conference center. I was pleased that there were plenty of seats available for lunch, and the server was fantastic. The atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. I ordered a small house salad(delicious!) and a fig and prosciutto flatbread. The flatbread was thin but full pizza size! My goodness, but it was delicious. I love that combination of melted cheese, fig, and balsamic. I couldn’t eat the whole thing but I made a valiant effort. My friend had the mac and cheese and seemed to like it pretty well, too. If I was a Spokane local, this would be a nice place for my family to frequent.

Nice atmosphere. It almost feels like SEPDX with all the youngsters here. On a Friday night it’s chatty, loud, and has a great vibe. I had the kahlua pork sandwich. It was tender but too salty. Boy had the cheeseburger, and true to his desire they made it rare. The home made chips were just a bit burnt though. The Mac and cheese tasted like Kraft according to my wife. I don’t care because Mac and cheese is baby food anyway, but I know some like it. Our waitress was wonderful. She was on her game, efficient, and friendly. The bartender is learning, and the list of cocktails looks good. I didn’t try any of them, but several look tempting. If they tighten up the quality just a bit, with the current menu, they get a 4 star rating.

Awesome place! Service was prompt and our waitress was phenomenal. The soft vegan pretzel could be a meal itself and the cheese dip and mustard dip were great. I had the chicken sandwich and the regular mac & cheese and it was also outstanding. Spokane has niche beer and food places, but this place is one of the best!

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, and TONS of vegan and vegetarian options. On top of that, Sunday is happy hour all day, so appetizers were $ 5 and we had discounts on our draft cider. My vegan friend was so excited to try the vegan cheese with the pretzel appetizer, the vegan polenta appetizer, and she ordered the veggie burger(vegan smoky cheese and vegan mayo) and a side of vegan Mac ‘n cheese. She loved all of it! It’s so rare to find a place that serves a variety of decent vegan options. I had the chicken capese sandwich with a side of regular Mac ‘n cheese. The regular Mac n cheese was good but nothing exceptional. The chicken sandwich was amazing!!! We loved this place and I’d definitely recommend taking any vegan or vegetarian friend here!
