Amazing food that isn’t over priced. Really enjoy this place and try some of the gelato it’s very good! I would recommend this place to anyone in the area to check this place out. The cookies are also pretty damn good.

Don’t waste your time or money. We just have this place a second try after our first experience was pretty bad. My husband just brought home our food and my sandwich that is supposed to be on a bialy was on a plain, dry, crumbly bagel and didn’t have the mayo that is supposed to be on it. My husband ordered and payed for double meat on his sandwich and had less than mine, plus his was missing the honey mustard. There’s a reason this place is dead at noon on a sunday

Yum. Great sandwiches, loved the bread. I got the roast beef, and loved the horseradish sauce on it. Husband enjoyed his chicken parmesan sandwich and 7 year old gobbled up half his ham sandwich(all the sandwiches were a good size). Decent price for great sammies!

Love the southwest chicken salad. I buy it at least once every two weeks. Place is clean and the staff is friendly. Spouse loves the Parmesan chicken sandwich. The kids always get basic sandwiches but at least here they finish them. I’ve tried some of their soup specials and they were always good. The chili leans toward the spicy side which I love. The only bummer is when their home made cookies are sold out!

Let me start this off with saying the food here is decent. The issue is the abysmal service. It takes ages for the food to be made, we were asked what our order was four times and when we got to the cashier we were asked again twice. The place was not busy at all at this time, so there was no excuse for this. The staff kind of yelling at each other trying to get the order numbers and it was a bit unnerving. Come here if you are okay with waiting on abysmal service for decent food. Some may defend the place and say that it’s new so be forgiving. I came here for the first time right when it opened up(early june) and the service was a little bit better. Still bad, but better than it was two and a half months later.

Ehh… The service behind the counter was good. I ordered a simple toasted plan bagel(out of egg bagels) toasted with butter. Bagel was not your typical chewy type but more like the bread kind you get at Panera or someplace like that. Good but not great or worth the drive. I probably would look at getting a sandwich next time.

The first time we tried this restaurant, we were overcharged – $ 37 for two meals. And the actual sandwiches were not impressive. I could make better ones at home. The cream of broccoli soup tasted store-bought. The pastrami sandwich costed $ 10 and there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. We decided to give the restaurant another chance. This visit was not any better. We tried the buffalo chicken sandwich and all I could taste was the huge amount of sauce. The veggie bagel sandwich was nothing special, quite boring. I was hoping for a better restaurant to spice up the bar food culture in Spring Grove. I won’t be going to Halsted Street again.

We wandered in for an evening meal, and also to check out the ‘new kid on the block’ so to speak. We were greeted warmly by the 2 employees behind the counter. Then we began the task of checking out the huge variety of deli sandwiches posted on the wall. It all looked good, so we went with the suggestion made to us for the ‘Big Tony’. A hit! We opened up the sandwiches, and the aroma was literally mouthwatering. The first bite confirmed the delicious combination of meat, cheese, spices and condiments. Breakfast bagel combinations also look tasty, and would be a great on-the-go meal to pick up, along with the Lavazza coffee offerings. Last, but not least, they also offer ice cream AND gelato, made without any artificial ingredients! We chose the strawberry, and we were not disappointed! Check it out!

We finally got a chance to try Halsted street deli. It was near closing and the place was busy with to go orders. The food was very good. They have deli sandwiches, beefs, hot dogs, corned beef, pastrami and even gelato which my daughter said was delicious. I got the taylor street italian(big tony) sandwich. My daughter got the meatball. Very good sandwiches.
