I always love a Cracker Barrel, and this place is no exception. It’s one of the few restaurants that actually knows how to cook eggs the way they’re ordered. I like mine over medium, and they have been cooked perfectly every time. Also, the pancakes are incredibly awesome.

Place is good if they are not busy. Foods average. Never go on Sunday with a big party. You will have to wait and extraordinary amount of time. Also, the way they have the cash register«line» is ingorant. A snotty cashier told us «the line starts over there» next to the waitress stand to pay. If you want my money I’ll stand in line wherever I want. I dislike this place on Sundays.

We had Thanksgiving take out dinner for 6 from Cracker barrel;; #649 in Spring Hill, Fla//Best thing we ever did: There was a great system for take out orders, No wait, and everything was hot and fresh and abundant. The young lady who filled the orders was knowledgeable and packed everything just perfect, she was great, nothing was left out and nothing spilled. We enjoyed everything, and so we want to thank you for making our Thanksgiving so wonderful. We will certainly do this again next year. Thank you Cracker Barrel, .Marilyn Reyer

For a great breakfast in the south, Cracker Barrel is definitely the way to go. I was a regular at the lakeland location when living in the area and the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant itself were always above standard. And every location that I’ve ever been too was never that far from it. I always go for breakfast, never lunch or dinner so I can’t really comment on that. But the highlights for me about their breakfast that keeps me coming back is the hashbrown caserole, sausage gravy, and the tiny bottles of heavenly pure maple syrup served alongside every order of pancakes, waffles, or french toast. Oh and the sourdough french toast. Sourdough, my favorite, dipped in cinnamon egg wash and griddled to crisp edges and warm center. The hashbrown caserole is a delicious mixture of cheese and shreds of potato and who knows what else that makes these so unique and fabulous. I can never reinact it at home. The sausage gravy, definitely homemade and fresh every day. Always reaches the table piping hot and delicious. Every other breakfast item, wether seasonal or regular, is always a winner for me. I say they serve the best breakfast out here in the south, consistently from my experience. Until proven otherwise I will continue to spread the word. Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

So, yeah. It’s a Cracker Barrel. It’s not like they’re cranking out some gourmet cuisine or anything, you know? But every once in a while, if you grew up with a grandma in southern Mississippi like I did, you just want some dumplings. Or some not-dry cornbread that’s also not-sweet(sacrilege!). Or some fried okra. Or some biscuits with apple butter. Or some amazing carrots. Basically? You want a taste of «home» without all the kneading and the«add water until the dough is the ‘right’ consistency» recipes, without deep-frying anything, having to use bacon grease as an ingredient *shudder*, the whole nine yards. So Cracker Barrel it is, and will continue to be until I’m old and decrepit and my kid refuses to take me there on field trips from the nursing home. Anyway, I DIGRESS. The whole reason I’m even doing a review for a Cracker Barrel is because we ended up here on a recent trip to Florida and our server was Great. She wasn’t ridiculously friendly or anything, which usually wins me over handily, but she was running a super-efficient have-drink-refills-on-the-table-before-we-even-knew-we-wanted-them type operation that day, and not just for us. I’ve had plenty of good service at Cracker Barrels here and there, but nothing that ever stood out, and this did. So there, I did it. I reviewed a Cracker Barrel. You can revoke my Elite status now, thanks. *laughing*

Worst breakfast ever. Service was horrible to begin with — had to flag down the waitress to take our order and never saw her again after we got our food — did’nt even get a drink refill. My eggs were almost raw, sausage was ice cold, There was’nt one positive thing to say about anyones food. NEVERAGAIN.

Another one of those reviews I almost feel guilty for writing… Breakfast is better than dinner. Old style food, fried and smothered. I worked at one in college. The food is all from a can. They doctor it up pretty good, but still. You can do better, but it is ok for a quick bite at a moderate price, if there aren’t 100 old people waiting in line.
