Philly’s Best

This weekend was our second time ordering from them. We both had cheesesteak subs. Maybe I didn’t notice the first time but I definitely think the board of health should pay a surprise visit to this place. It was filthy, the grills were a mess, the sub rolls were on a shelve near the floor unwrapped and the floor was a mess. No one handling food was wearing gloves. The place overall needs a really good cleaning. Needless to say we took our subs home and reluctantly ate half of the sub and threw the rest away.

Ok Just on the off chance one day we decided to try this little joint out! We were hungry worked hard all day and wanted something Different! Okay so here is my Foodie Review foor Phillly’s Best, I Gave it a three star but that’s not a bad thing cause to get a five star you just have to be out of this world but four is next best! I one would like to address i LOVE Fresh Cut Fries which is what they offer they come in these little bags, now this might be a reason for a four instead of a five plus one other so follow me here. One the Fresh cut fries even though Delisious are in these bags which can tend to be greasy and ready to tall apart, Plus the steam cause they do try to get them to you fresh and hot but in turn they come greasy and well soggy (Soft –n– Limp). so they need to revamp how to serve them delicious fresh cut a better way! Okay the next thing Philly’s Best ehhh not so. iv’e had better and if your gonna try ot carry a Name Philly’s Best you should damn new try to perfect to compare! So we get a philly sub its tasty but do not get extra fixens on it like i like onions raw cause then for some reason it becomes soggy with the Roll and then adding the meat –n– chees etc too and again i will give credit they sure do attempt to give you your food delivery not and fast so notice i said delivery so i account for that and time to get my food! The phillys which they do offer several ways and my Rikki likes one called the Bomb so she never complains but she will eat anything «Hey Mikey»! LOL, so over all was and is good, will i order still Yes, i just would have higher expectations is all but not a total fail by no means try it yourself and see perhaps your not a big Foodie like me! So Philly’s Best i will say your a High C+ working a B-​, So not the «BOMB» (winks) but not the worse and somewhat better then some others iv’e had. xo
PS …I sure do wish the Food looked as good as the photo, kinda like a McDonalds Commercial it never looks as good as when you truly get it! LOL

I’ve been coming here since I’ve discovered the place in high school. The customer service is very friendly and they have the best Philly cheesesteaks in town.

This place has awesome cheese steaks! What else can I say? Oh yeah, the french fries are out of this world! We always get cheese steaks from here. I always get «The Bomb» which is cheese steak with capicola and salami, Nick is a sweetheart and always is courteous when I place a delivery order. Their prices are very reasonable and the fries come in a little brown «penny candy» bag that is stuffed, Long live Philly’s Best!

Tried this place out after looking for somewhere that makes good philly cheesesteak. It was not the best it was just ok. It didn’t quite cut it. Also tried there baffalo chicken and it was kind of nasty. I was really looking foward to eating them but it had a weird taste to it. Will not return.

From the reviews, I expected an amazing cheesesteak, but I was underwhelmed. There were a few positives though. The Greek salad (with delicious homemade house dressing) was great, the fresh cut French fries amazing, and the food was decently priced and came out pretty fast.
As for the Philly cheesesteak, the bread was great, but the flavor just wasn’t there. It had a large amount of white cheese melted on it so that could have smothered the flavor a bit. Overall, I think your main product/​namesake has to stand out and it just missed the mark.

Portions sizes are pretty small considering the price and somewhat mediocre quality of the food. Not horrible, but not the best either.

I’ve raved about this place for years. Food is still good. But the last few times the service has been bad. Rude, dismissive, eye rolling type of stuff. I’m not sure what’s up here, but I get tired of that kinda nonsense. Not sure if I’ll return. Wake up! Look at my reviews. I’m not a hardass. But the last 5 or 6 times I’ve been here, the attitude has been thick. Sad really. They have a good product, just seemed to stray from the normal business model on decorum.

So yummy. Can’t get a better Philly Cheese. Awesome little place. Very decent on pricing too unlike a lot of other Philly cheese steak places. My new go to place. Try it, you’ll love it.

I love this place. The owner is awesome and very hands on. Everyone that works here is friendly and will talk to you. I eat here a couple times a week.
I like that they know me by name.

I got a BLT club and it was good then I got mozzarella sticks so delicious with a batter like coating will have to try a philly next time but a nice sit down or to go place with lots of sports memorabilia and a good price reasonable and was good

We have been on the search for a delicious philly cheesteak and tried this place yesterday…
We called and the staff were so sweet and helpful!
However, the menu on FB had items that they don’t even have which was disappointing and confusing. (Such as the cheesesteak eggrolls)
The flavor was OUTRAGEOUS!!! It would have been a 5 star experience but sadly the cheesesteak portion inside lacks…
A good cheesesteak should NEVER be overshadowed by the bread.
Unfortunately the inner portions being so small it was more like a meat flavored bread then a cheesesteak sandwich, it should be overloaded and sloppy and messy!!!
BUT AGAIN… THE FLAVORS WERE THE BEST! THE CHEESE WAS INCREDIBLY FLAVORFUL!!! It was awesome in flavor.
We tried a new place today and they rocked in size portions (both loaf size and cheesesteak filling!) and while it was a good sandwich, it fell short in flavor compared to this place!
I will try Philly’s best again down the road to see if they step up their game in portion sizes! They have the flavors on point!!!

I’ve had orighinal Philly’s in Philly and in Jersey and these don’t cut it. The meat has a weird hamburger helper softer texture to it. Had my first cuban there as well. It was like a grilled cheese with pickles and salami. Tasty but nothing worth going back for. The fries were excellent though.

The sandwiches are amazing and the fresh cut fries are good. Always friendly staff great place to eat!

This place hit it outta the park!!! the second the meat, cheese hits your mouth… TOUNGUE-​GASM!!! I went back for the Bacon, need i say more. The combo they advertise is more than adequate to satisfy anyone, but you might want to get a second sandwich cause it’s just that good.
They just got a new regular!

This place is the bomb-​diggity. Great staff, awesome food. If you’re into cheesesteaks, get the Florida. It’s the way you’re used to a cheesesteak being prepared. You won’t get as much meat as some of the other joints, but the quality if much better. Don’t get me wrong: the large size was PLENTY filling for a 230 pound guy who came in hungry.
Order came up quickly and you could tell how fresh everything was.

Philly’s Best is a little off the beaten path (read: hard to notice), but it’s worth finding. You’ll be back, without a doubt.

Stopped in there today thanks to fellow Unilocalers and was happy with everything. The staff was friendly and offered recommendations on the menu. He also explained that they could change our order how ever we would like.
The place is outfitted with various sports memorabilia and looks authentic. Had a HDTV playing Fast Five which was a nice distraction while waiting for the food.
Speaking of the food, the reviews were right it is one of the better philly’s you can get. It was made to order and I was happy to finish the whole sandwich. I thought the meat was a little low quality but I’m no expert so I could be off a bit. The fries were excellent as an added bonus. I wonder if they would do some chili fries for me next time? That would be awesome.
If you in town visiting weeki wachee springs like I was it would be worth your time to drive the couple miles if you looking for a good philly.

Came here to day for the 1^st time after several recommendations and I have to say that I was impressed. It doesn’t look much from the street in a small strip mall. It actually doesn’t look much from the inside either with a small window to order through.
Once you get the food though you can see what the fuss is about. I had the Floridian with peppers, mushroom and onion with a side of fries. Fries are clearly homemade and of a very good standard. The thickest cut ones were just a shade off being done but very good.
The Philly steak, I don’t have much by way of reference as a Brit bar a few poor samplings at Hooters and other places but if this is what it tastes like normally then come back, all is forgiven. Very tasty, great flavor, great portion size, moist, filling. Fantastic.
Will be going to sample a few more varieties in the near future.
Loses a star for the TV being a little on the loud side and showing Planet of the Apes attack scenes, not good for the appetite.
