It has been three years since my last review. There doesn’t seem to be any recent reviews on Unilocal for this restaurant to help me out to see if it has improved. It is a very convenient location… therefore I thought it was time to check it out for myself because I want to like this place. Besides… pretty sure it has new owners once again. With high hopes, I placed a small order in addition to my order from Vic’s a few doors down. Hmmm… unfortunately…still not impressed. Darn. The restaurant pretty much looks the same as it has for years… just a few minor changes. Red checkered plastic table cloths cover each table, still the original carpet which is worn and dirty. It is a very casual, drab, old looking décor with booths on the sides and tables in the middle. No patrons dining in and only one take out bag waiting for pick up when I arrived at dinner hour. One young child spread out and occupied a booth to the right while another older girl doing homework at a table to the left with a Dad/owner(?) next to her. She jumped up to take my order. I was NOT greeted. I placed my order and still no one said anything to me. Not even…“it will be just 5 min” nothing. My family use to enjoy dining here. Unfortunately, this time I felt like I was visiting someone’s house as the kids were winding down from a long day and waiting for dinner to be served. It was very awkward actually. I couldn’t wait to pay for my order and get out of there. My food was a bit greasy and egg rolls scrawny. Luckily I grabbed duck sauce and mustard because there wasn’t any in the bag and no one told me to take it. The reason for the two stars and not one star is because it is a sympathy star… looks like they need business.

This my go to Chinese take out/delivery. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The food is good and a great value.

This is the only restaurant I can say that I’ve been coming to my entire life. As it’s changed hands over those 20 some years the name has stayed the same though the quality of food has ebbed and flowed. I can confidently say that the current ownership is the best that the establishment has seen. They current owners have been here for several years and perfected both the take out and particularly the eat in ends of the Chinese food spectrum. Start out with the wonton soup and fried wontons, for a main course you can’t go wrong with General Tso’s chicken or the Hunan Royal. Many of the entrees are served with beautiful carved fruit or vegetables as garnish, definitely great picture material for Unilocal’s more photographically talented foodies!

It breaks my heart to rate this as 1 star. This used to be the best Chinese food place in the area. I’ve been a patron for over 10 years and it’s sad to say there was a sharp decline in quality a few years back. Not sure if it’s due to new owners or what. Still haven’t found a replacement Chinese restaurant.

Don’t be fooled by it’s location, tucked away in a fairly nondescript shopping strip. This has been one of the best Chinese joints in the area for years. That’s the reason it lasts while all it’s neighbors are coming and going. I’ve never had a bad meal!

From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with a smile. Right off the bat, I knew that this was going to be great place. The restaurant is very clean and presentable. It is typical Chinese food you can get other places, but the staff and the cleanliness of he restaurant made it much better.

This is the best Chinese I’ve probably ever had, the freshest taste and flavors, quick like all Chinese places. They have the option of steamed brown rice, yummy, for when I order my typical egg foo young. Although I know its not authentic Chinese food, it was born for americans n I love it… Their fried rolls are awesome, they don’t even taste like they were ever dipped in grease, that’s how lite n fresh everything taste. All I’m sayin’ is they’re amazin’… Go get some, Now!!!

Best Chinese food joint I’ve been to in the entire area, and this includes most of downtown Philadelphia. Mandarin has become a staple for my boyfriend and I since I introduced him to it. I myself was introduced to it by a good girlfriend. We go pretty much weekly. It’s quiet and clean, VERY fairly priced, the service is friendly and extremely fast. Walk in hungry? No problem. Free tea, Wonton noodles and cabbage salad to munch on while you ponder your order. They also have really comfy squishy deep booths and I love that. Everything I’ve had there has been good. My boyfriend speaks very highly of their hot and sour soup. Their portions are perfect as opposed to stupid, and everything tastes very fresh. Low grease factor too. Inside it’s your typical Chinese restaurant feel. Dark, some nice paintings, small. Usually very quiet. They do a lot of takeout business, but we prefer to eat in. You’d certainly miss it from the road if you weren’t already aware it was there, so check out this hidden Springhouse gem and enjoy!

This another one of those places you ride past and don’t know exist. I’ve been dinning in and taking out on a regular basis for years. Very nice menu and service is exceptional. The steamed dumplings are the best I’ve ever tried. Next time your in Spring House stop in and check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
