Not bad, especially for Fayetteville/Spring Lake. The shining star that sets this place apart is their self-service salsa bar with over a dozen salsa’s to chose from. Word of warning — the pumpkin and spice salsa is pretty warm! The menu is huge. Just about anything you want. I ordered the steak fajitas. The steak could have been slightly more tender, but it was seasoned just right. The others at my table had little complaints as well. The wait staff was outstanding and able to answer questions about ingredients in dishes(I don’t do onions). The place was clean with an abundance of setting. Plenty of parking since its in a shopping plaza. Overall, this is a place I would seek out on my next trip to the area. Very well done Salsas and Beer!

Not the fanciest restaurant to eat at, but excellent food and friendly service. Great chips with bean dip and delicious selection of salsas in a self serve salsa bar. I especially liked the red tomatillo(nice smoky flavor) and the spicy lime salsa(which seemed to be a mayo-based variety). I had the sizzling enchiladas, which are made with a variety of meats. The sauce was excellent and the food served on a hot cast iron plate, which made the bottom of the enchiladas, rice and sauce have an amazing golden brown crispiness on bottom.

I just be honest anout this business. They have best Mexican food in town. But service is truly aweful. They may bring you good without silver ware. And disappear on you for moment. Beside place stinks like swan. Wont be back. Nor i ll advice my friends to eat up there. Most time they have no customers at all. Figure why… hello business owner time to make some real change!

The wait staff was very friendly. I’ll give them that… As for the food, I was disappointed to say the least. My husband said that the steak tasted like how a horse stall smelled, and I couldn’t agree more, as weird as that may sound. They also like to skimp not only on the guac, but also with their alcohol portions. I ordered a shot of rum, and it was about half of what a normal shot portion would be anywhere else. Lastly, their horchata is more watered down with minimal cinnamon flavor, and is hardly sweet. We have heard a lot of great things about this place, and I’m starting to question what people in this town actually think is «good.» I’ll stick to Don Ramon’s and Mi Casita. Yikes.

I like it. We visit 2 – 3 times a month for lunch. Food is consistently good and served promptly; good and polite service. We’ve tried items from the menu with no complaints. They serve a delicious bean dip with the chips and yes, there is a salsa bar with various salsas which are pretty good. The chicken tortilla soup is excellent.

Basic Tex-Mex menu and items. They serve a warm bean dip with the chips and have a large salsa bar(which has several good options). With the exception of the shredded beef, everything I have ordered had been cooked well. The two times I have had shredded beef, I feel as it was a bit tough. Service is a bit slow. Avoid eating there at lunch as it can get crowded as it is a favorite lunch spot for employees at Ft. Bragg.

Best Mexican restaurant in the area!!! I’m from the west coast, ate all around those states, lived in the central states for almost two years and now living in the east coast. So I’ve have my fair share of eating this type of food from all over, this place puts up big numbers and the salsa is amazing! Get the chicken fajitas!

So I’m a visitor in town, craving Mexican food, searching my trusted Unilocal for a recommendation. I see a place called salsa and beer and think, wow ok I’m definitely going there. Let me tell you that feeling disappeared quickly. My friend and I walked in and and stood by the door for approximately 3 minutes and no one sat us. No big deal right? Wrong. The waitresses were ten feet away chatting it up, ignoring us. I was about to leave and one of them finally ran over to seat us. There was only two other groups eating when we got there. We were sat at a booth and I asked our uninterested waitress what the beer specials were, cause you know, the business has beer in the name. She looked at me somewhat confused and replied«There’s no beer specials». Not only were there no specials, but the selection was limited and somewhat overpriced. Onto the other word in the name, salsa. Our wonderfully attentive waitress, who at this point returned to her chat with the rest of the crew, failed to mention we had to get our own from a bar at the rear of the restaurant, hidden for our current location. I only discovered this on my way to the restroom. I ordered grilled fajita nachos with pork and other was decent. The food flavorful and portion sizes on the large size. But it was difficult to enjoy my food because drink refills pretty much don’t exist here. I wanted to rate this a one star but because the food was somewhat good, I wont. Until this place realizes service is king and treats customers better, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We came in to get dinner after many of our friends recommended the place. Our friends were right, it was fantastic! I had the Burrito California and my wife had the Chimi, both were great. The Margaritas were great too… Salsa bar, chips– it was just what we needed. The staff is great and made sure we had everything we needed. No complaints at all and we plan on going back!

When you first arrive it’s a little sketchy being a Mexican Food Restaurant in a shopping center. Inside the Décor is that traditional Mexican vibrant colors feel. The salsa at the table was really good(almost a bean dip salsa). The chips aren’t anything special to write home about, but they’re good. The beers are huge! The Menu was a little overwhelming. I just wanted some carne asada tacos with some pico de gallo and cilantro. I ended up getting the carne asada plate and building my own taco(minus the pico de gallo and cilantro). In the end it’s a pretty good place, but it’s not the best. Oh, the staff was very nice and always there when I needed them.

Probably the best Mexican/Tex-mex food in the area. The portions are huge, fresh chips and great salsa. It can get busy during the lunch crowd but great place to chill for happy hour at the end of the day. Prices are very competitive and well there’s isn’t really much choices to eat in the area anyways.

We use to love this place. They would treat us like family. Within the last 5 months they have lost all of their old employees that we had come to love. The new staff has no idea what’s going on. The food has become worse and the service is non existent. It’s really sad cause this was one of the best spots around here. I hope they get better.

Not sure if people in NC have had really good mexican food before but this place is simply just ok. I ordered the Carne Asada which was super overcooked, the rice was bland to say the least, the waitress brought my corn tortillas 10 mins after she brought my food, my husband was not impressed by their enchiladas and my daughters cheeseburger(yes I know a cheeseburger in a Mexican restaurant isn’t the way to go but she’s a picky eater) was overcooked and tasted fishy. Our drinks took quite a while to get as well as the food and when we asked for the check it took forever for the waitress to cash us out. Needless to say we weren’t impressed by this place and will not be returning.

Some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. The bean dip is awesome, I could just eat it with a spoon! Also they have a little salsa station with 5 or so different homemade salsas. So tasty! Unfortunately we went on cinco de mayo and so did everyone else in Fayetteville. We were seated very quickly but it took forever to place an order and even longer to get our food. They kept the chips and dip coming though so when we did get our food we had to get boxes right away. I did eat a few bites and my burrito was very tasty. As was my boyfriends torta. Too bad, maybe we’ll go back another night that is less busy

Had dinner here for a farewell get-together for some ppl from my husbands work. I don’t think the ppl who organized this were not prepared by the amount of people who showed actually showed up because from the front desk, we were asked if we’re were I with the party of 15 or 18. By the time we were seated, I realized there were about 50 people at this get-together. Anyway, I don’t blame the servers for not being prepared and having to move tables and chairs around to have us all seated. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, my husband got the steak burrito ranchero, and a cheese quesadilla with fries for my toddlers to share. Our drinks and food finally came, except for my kids quesadilla, before our utensils. My fajitas were in a sizzling hot skillet and my the time we got our utensils, my veggies were overlooked and soggy and some of my shrimp were burnt and stuck on the skillet. My husband didn’t seem too satisfied with his burrito. It was over loaded with bean… Had a taste and the amount of beans in it kind of ruined the dish. Couldn’t rate the quesadilla because well, we didn’t get it, but my kids seemed to love the rice. When bringing out our food, the servers weren’t so organized and calling out the orders across the room and waiting for someone to raise a hand or call out«here». The stress of the servers kept me from asking for our kids food, the portions were pretty large, so I knew I’d be able to share with my kids. I’m sure if my family were there as a reservation for 4& not such a large and unorganized event, our experience would have been better, but I feel they should have been better prepared if such unexpected events like these were to happen in their restaurant. I’m willing to come back to give them another try with just my family, pass on the burrito ranchero and order something new.

The salsa bar is amazing! The spicy lime salsa has just the right amount of burn to enhance the flavor. The torta with chicken Milanese was loaded with toppings and the shrimp fajitas where almost to much for one portion!

Cool little spot, we arrived around 1:30pm and it was empty. The waitress gave us some chips and bean dip-pretty good instead of the usual salsa. Everyone seemed to be professional and handled their jobs Well. The restaurant also have a little Bar with a bunch of flavors you can add to your meal most of them were tasteless sorry to say. Other than that it was nice I will return again God willing.

I am going back up to a 4 star update. For the price and quick meal service, this place is hard to beat. My husband and I had a double date there for dinner last night and we were impressed with the food yet again. They still serve warm bean dip and chips to get you started. This time all their beers were available on tap and were served quickly. Less that 15 mins after we ordered our meals, they arrived at our table. My husband and I can still share an entrée and we had their Arroz con Pollo with added mushrooms and warm flour tortillas on the side. It was delicious and plenty of food. Our friends shared the sizzling enchilada plate and they were also impressed with the delicious food. The salsas were yummy as always. Although this place is quiet and not a hang out spot, it is still a great, inexpensive, quality food, dinner spot. I think we will be dining here more regularly again.
