My family and I had the worst experience ever! The staff were not trained and when food came out it was cold and it was always some lame excuse

Just ok for me. The oysters were super. Everything else a bit average. Atmosphere is unusual and super loud. Was hoping for a more sophisticated dining event even though it’s in the suburbs; though, found some general wait staff misses. Owner is super friendly and attentive which shows promise. This restaurant is new, so potentially may work through some of the service issues.

Was seated at 8:10 on a Saturday night. Place was not overly busy. Ordered our appetizer and meals almost immediately(we had not eaten all day). At 8:45 we still did not have our appetizer. The waiter asked if he could get us something while we were waiting. I said how about some bread and butter while we wait. Four slices of bread and butter are $ 2.00 he replied. We declined. Most places would be apologetic. Not this place. Left at 8:50 and still never saw our food. Very disappointed. We eat 8 – 10 meals out weekly. Won’t be going back.

I was confused by the atmosphere. When you walk in I thought Asian. Then I sat at a way to small of a table to eat oysters or crawfish. Atmosphere is trying to be Urban sports bar with Classical music in the background Waitress was good, but could of used less of the extra waitstaff hovering about with nothing to do. Now to the important part, the food. The oysters and cheese dip were good. My husband had the Snapper Blackened and really liked it along with the veggies. I thought the veggies were way over cooked, but I like my veggies a little firmer. I got the blackened Mahi. I thought it was terrible, fishy and no flavor. On to the hushpuppies, the worst thing we had. Very mushy! So disappointed, I really wanted to like this place.

I had really high hopes for this visit! I am a huge fan/cook of cajun food and love oysters! Figured this would be a great spot for date night, boy was I wrong! I was pleased with the wine selection/prices so we started with that while we looked over the menu. I knew I wanted to start with a cup of gumbo since the pictures looked amazing on Unilocal. The quality of the seafood in the gumbo was great but it completely lacked flavor… absolutely no seasoning! My boyfriend ordered the bouidin balls and I can say after trying a taste, those were good. The rest of our dining experience in regards to food was alright. I decided after tasting the gumbo I’d stick with a po’boy…hard to go wrong with that and my boyfriend got the boiled crawfish. The one thing I would like to note is the reason we will not be back… the service. I was horribly disappointed. I was a waitress growing up so I tend to cut some people slack, especially on a Friday night but our waitress had no personality, no clue as how to service a table. Our water was only refilled once and when I finally asked for her to refill our glasses she decided her shift was over and I saw her head out the back once she had dropped off the check. If you do go to this restaurant, I’d recommend sitting at the bar. Looks like those people were having fun and at least had someone to service them non stop. Thankfully my boyfriend cut her some slack and left her a tip because I was so in shock I was ready to leave a tab without a tip for the first time in my life!

Food: Definitely great food for the area. Most things in this area is just mediocre. Came here for mainly to try the crawfish, and chargrilled oysters. Both were great. Crawfish was asian-cajun inspired and a little different from you typical asian cajun crawfish. Chargrilled oysters were inspired from the New Orleans styled Chargrilled(Drago) type oysters. It did not come on a Hot Oyster Shell but it did have a similar flavor to the NOLA oysters. Staff: The owner, Bruce was nice enough to introduce himself and talk to our table along with the rest in the restaurant. Our server, can’t remember his name, but was fairly new. He did a fantastic job and even ended the service with a question of any advice/criticism we had for him so he could be better in the future which i really appreciated. Overall, an interesting find, and will be back.

While out running errands, I had a craving for oysters and we found the Bleu Oyster Bar to be right around the corner from our new neighborhood! This spot has only been open for probably a little more than a month, but we were pleasantly surprised with their food and service. We were there a little after the normal lunch hours, so the spot was pretty empty. After trying to decide which oysters we wanted, we decided to just try a bit of everything. A dozen raw and a dozen Rockefeller grilled, along with a two pork tacos. The fresh oysters were delicious, and the large gulf variety actually tasted very clean(which is usually not the norm at most places). The tacos were pretty tasty as well, with lots of fresh sauteed veggies and a kick of jalapeño. Our favorite dish, by far, were the Rockefeller grilled oysters! They use special Wilton Armetale oyster plates to serve these, so the oysters stay hot and the little valleys drain all the buttery, garlic goodness into a little pool for you to put your face in! Or your garlic bread. The oysters were not overcooked, had lots of flavor, with fresh spinach and parmesan too! Absolutely delicious! This will definitely be our local oyster spot!

We decided to try this local eatery based, in large part, on the Unilocal reviews. Sadly, we won’t be going back. The ONLY positive to this place was the friendly waitstaff. We sat outside on the patio and about 10 minutes into the experience we were each sniffing each other to decide if one of us was the source of the horrendous fishy trash smell that wafted past every few minutes. It was nauseating. On this particular Thursday evening, we waited 45MINUTES for our food. Luckily we had at least opted to pay $ 2 for the 4 pieces of garlic bread to hold over my 2 year old son during the insanely long wait. Our server was friendly through it all, but a manager never came by to address the problem. My husband ordered the JUMBO grilled shrimp. Needless to say they were anything but jumbo. 7 kebob-size shrimp, a cup of over-steamed veggies and a baked potato(with an upcharge, of course) for $ 17. Yikes. While we were paying, we asked for a manager. We honestly just wanted to be friendly and let them know about the smell issue. She thanked us for telling her. And that was IT. No asking us how it was; no apology for the ridiculous wait; no offer to comp any part of the meal. I was shocked. AFTER we paid, the owner/manager came out and sniffed a few times, said he didn’t smell anything, and even if we did smell something, it wasn’t anything that was his fault. He said next time sit inside.(Seriously, that was his response). He said if we had bad service that wasn’t his fault either because his help is all young kids making $ 2.50 an hour. We asked him if the food issues were his fault and he said yes, that was in his area. So my husband proceeded to tell him about the«mislabeled» shrimp and an under-cooked baked potato. He ARGUED with my husband about the shrimp and potato. He never once asked what he could do to earn our return business — so he won’t. Extremely disappointed.

My wife and I love this place! My wife loves seafood, but I do not. It’s hard for us to find a restaurant that we both love. The best part for us is it’s right down the street. We even ordered out over the phone tonight. Welcome to the neighborhood! P. S. Order a Caesar Salad… amazing

Another excellent meal. We HAD to order the charbroiled oysters again. You can NOT come to this place with out ordering these. They are so damn good! My wife liked her chicken wings so much last time, that she decided to get them again. I chose to try a new item for myself, the mixed grilled platter. Very good choice. All 3(shrimp, scallops, & catfish) were grilled expertly. The catfish was nice & flaky. I elected to sub the grilled veggies for coleslaw. It too was delicious. Rich & creamy. Can’t wait to get back.

Excellent experience all around. Restaurant has a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. TVs behind the bar & outside so you won’t miss a beat w any games on. The food was amazing for the price. My girl & I ordered 2 of each type of oyster & a half dozen charbroiled & a half dozen Rockefeller to try them all. It was an awesome experience tasting the difference in oysters from different regions. The oysters Rockefeller were amazing!!! A great blend plus a nice hint of spice. The calamari was excellent as well. All couples w us loved their food. We will be back that’s for sure!

We tried every oyster on the menu and had so much fun doing it! We ordered two of every oyster and the half dozen charbroiled and half dozen Rockefeller. The other two couples at our table said they should have done that and were jealous they didn’t think of it. We also had fried calamari and it was cooked exactly right. The boudin balls are recommended as well. We are definitely going to be frequenting this gem of a place often! Remember to support your local businesses!

I can not believe this place is averaging 4 stars. I am absolutely appalled at the quality of the food here. I stopped in for lunch just after 1pm. The wait staff were very welcoming and attentive. This, however l, did not make up for the quality of their food. I ordered a grilled fish entrée with a side of their sautéed mushrooms. The fish was an overcooked frozen fillet. The vegetables were mush and the mushrooms were straight out of the can, warmed up. For the life of me, I can’t believe the prices for this rubbish. I would have had a better meal at Red Lobster, the McDonald’s of seafood! I spoke to the young manager and asked why they serve this frozen/canned food and he could not give me a definitive answer except that they will try to do better next time. Really? Why would a NEW upscale(pricing) restaurant serve canned anything??? Nope, not coming back.

Wish we could give 2.5 stars, that’s really what you have here, but I’ll round up in light of their newness. Maybe with time. But for now, this is a few hits and a lot of misses. This was our first visit. First, the basics: — Décor: Nice! Well-designed space, good colors, appropriate lighting. Looks like a cool urban setting from Upper Kirby or Midtown. Bonus points for a real patio that’s both practical and popular; — Service: Young, inexperienced, new. Good attitude, friendly, positive. Give ‘em time. Then, the food: — Seafood campechana: one of the biggest disappointments. Thin Mexican cocktail sauce, closer to tomato soup than campechana sauce. The only seafood is shrimp, and here’s where Bleu really lets you down. You know those little rubbery things that come in a glass bottle with cocktail sauce at HEB for $ 3? Same shrimp. As this was the first dish served, we were off to a bad start; — Boiled crawfish: surprising to have them at this time of year, yet we were assured they were«really good sized» by our waitress. Not so much — they’re between small and tiny. But they’re coated in a really interesting and delicious sauce, kind of a hybrid Vietnamese garlic butter with Mexican overtones. Larger crawfish and this would be a great way to eat them, so if we come back, it’ll be when we might get bigger bugs; — Salmon salad: Delicious salmon, cooked properly and decent sized. But under it was just lettuce with a small number of basic veggies and a simple Italian dressing. So, not bad, not great. The wife gets it everywhere we go. Bottom line: wouldn’t order it again; — Grilled oysters: Boy was I excited for this. You can’t get them many places and when they’re done right they’re one of life’s great pleasures. Here, not so much. They’re served in a fun, unique service dish that allows all the butter to drain down into a nice puddle for dipping your bread, very clever and useful. But, it was hard to tell how good they might have been. The plate had been heated(and reheated?) and most of the butter had dried to the plate. The oysters themselves were just okay — very small, like literally three quarters stacked up, and overcooked but not quite dry. This would be a good dish with larger, Gulf Coast oysters(like at Jimmy G’s) and not all dried out. Less time in the oven and you’d have something; — Chicken wings: Excellent! Some of the best wings I’ve had anywhere in the city, and I lived in Buffalo for two years! So you come for seafood and the wings blow you away? I’ll take it. In reading this over it seems like it was all pretty good, but the overall impression was negative based on the campechana, the tiny mud bugs and the dried out oysters. Plus, the wife needs her salmon salad. Back to Pappadeaux for now, but we’ll try again in a month or two.

Waited with excitement for this place to open. Been here twice. Food is decent, but I have a couple of issues with staff and management. First time, I had salmon. Fish was good, rice was tasty, veggies good. After the meal, I asked the waiter if the salmon was wild caught. He had no idea. I then spoke to the owner, who told me that as far as he knew, it was wild. He recommended that I call Fulton Seafood and ask them. I shouldn’t have to call the supplier. He should know. The second time, I had Hawaiian chicken with no tortilla and a salad. I had to order three«tacos» at $ 3.50 a piece to get less chicken than I would get at Taco Bell in 1 taco. My companion ordered Shrimp Fried Rice. The waiter mumbled that he didn’t think they had it but he would check. It was on the menu. After waiting quite some time, we asked about the entrée. The waiter said that they didn’t have it. However, he never bothered to tell us or come back and get a different choice! The owner came to the table and made excuses. However there is no excuse for such poorly trained staff. This place has potential, but they need to work on some things!

Unbeknownst to me — this place existed… And it’s right around the corner! Still not sure what to make of my visit though, but I’m willing to give it another shot, if that says anything… My friend and I arrived eagerly and mouths watering — to have lunch — only to leave with less than pleased palates. The shrimp queso and boudin balls came highly raved about, yet were mysteriously unavailable… At 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon! How so? Lol… The parking lot was barely occupied when we arrived. Oh well — let’s just find something else on the menu. I get lunch rush, but if there WAS one, they cleared out mighty FAST! Our waiter(who did make it a point to let us know it was his first day) kinda’ left us in the whim for quite a bit. Finally after a few goings on(questions about the food & menu) we settled on salads with shrimp tossed in. Specifically«blackened» shrimp. What we got was super salty and overly seasoned grilled shrimp — 4 rather medium sized I might add — sitting atop a MASSIVE bed of lettuce(there were tomatoes, eggs, cheese, and cucumbers as well). I also asked for a side remoulade for my dressing. Although the salad was beautifully presented, I felt it was too much«rabbit food» as I like to call it, for the very small amount of shrimp I got. I even paid for extra shrimp and added avocado. The dressing??? Well that was another disappointment. Nowhere near authentic and LOADED with pepper. Tasted like a tweaked thousand island if you ask me… Sad thing is I hear the oysters are to-die-for… Too bad — that’s just not my forte. The staff apologized profusely for missing the mark and discounted the ticket — even offering a coupon for a future visit, to which I’m receptive to. I just hope the boudin balls are available! The funniest part of it all: towards the end of our meal a nice loud refrigerated truck showed up — parking right next to the patio where we were seated. I wonder if my boudin was on the truck!!!

I really was wanting to write something more glowing. The place is nice but VERY loud… hard to hold a conversation at your own table. We had the grilled mahi which was fairly good. We also had the étouffée. My only word for that is «no.» This Louisiana girl knows étouffée and this was NOT it. I honestly wanted to walk into the kitchen and give them a quick lesson. I’ve never seen orange soup passed off as étouffée. I would describe it as a curried soup. I had high hopes as we have been waiting for something new and great near Gleannloch. I’m willing to give it another shot, but will only order the étouffée again if they learn how to make it the right way. We also had boudin balls… those were only«ok.» Our server, however, was super sweet and attentive!

As longtime foodies my husband and I have longed for a quality eatery in the Spring area and finally it’s here! Bleu seafood is a jewel, great fresh food a quaint mom n pop feeling, best fried shrimp, best oysters and out of this world boudin balls! Good service and very nice owner who we got to meet and talk to, he really has a passion for his restaurant and it shows on the plates and lines out the door! We are hooked! Gleannloch farms we are lucky!

Delicious Food and attentive service. We sampled a few items off their menu as it was our first time. 1. Charbroiled oysters — yummy goodness! The cheese and butter mixture has a great flavor and plenty to dip your bread in. The oysters are tender, melt in your mouth. 2. Campencana — mexican seafood cocktail. Good flavor with nice spice level. My only negative is I wish the shrimp were bigger than salad shrimp. 3. Boiled crawfish with bleu cajun sauce — really good sauce lots of garlic, savory spice, and a lil kick afterbite. 4. Seafood Gumbo — thick and heart with fish, shrimp, crawfish, and sausage. Good flavor not too salty or spicy. 5. Frog legs — crunchy coating and taste as you would expect. It’s hard to find frog legs so this will be my goto when I have cravings. The fries are shoestring and have good spice dusted on them. 6. Tacos– I tried the Pork Belly, tender but the taste was overpowered by onions and bell peppers. Korean short rib, Yum! The short rib is tender, juicy, and great flavor a lil sweet mixed with spice. We enjoyed our lunch here. Our drinks were refilled promptly and food arrived quickly and in good pace. Excited to return and try more.

I was simply visiting and stumbled upon a crowded parking lot. Curious, I went in. Best decision I’ve made all week. I asked some questions about the place and spoke to a very nice lady with a southern belle type of personality. The menu has a wide variety of deliciousness to choose from. I will be going back tomorrow with friends. I was shocked that they did not have a Unilocal page yet, so happy customer decided to make one for them.
