I’ve been here often and loved it every single time. When my husband comes in town, he always wants to go there. Never had a bad meal, staff is always friendly. Food is seasoned really well.

Love this place. Great gumbo, great tacos, great shrimp. They’ve also got a good relationship with Hop Scholar a few doors down, which is BYOF, and they’ll bring your food to you while you have a beer.

Pass by here everyday and can’t believe I haven’t stopped until now. Shrimp po boy was packed with yummy seasoned shrimp and great sauce. Gumbo was just the right amount of spicy. The hubs loves fish tacos so he tried the grilled catfish. I ordered two without asking their size, they are huge. Hubs loved the flavor and agreed that one would have been plenty. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. I noticed staff chatting with many regulars that came and went telling me they have consistent good food and service. Great job!

The fried catfish was fantastic. The best I’ve ever had. Everything served very hot. The okra was fresh as well, not frozen. Red beans and rice was as good as we’ve had anywhere and was not loaded with rice. Shrimp po boy really tasty. Made with garlic bread. Nothing was too spicy. Prices are very reasonable. They have an active take out business as well. Very nice people and good service.

This is more of a manager’s note because the food here has always been good to me. I come here often and bring a lot of my coworkers here as well. Today, i asked for a cup of water, and got charged $.25 for a «cup ice». $.25 cents isn’t a big deal, but places that try to find a way to charge you for every little thing including what should be a free glass for water is a fail in my eyes and makes me look at the establishment in a different light.

This place is pretty good. My son and I come here every now and then. He likes the gumbo and I usually stick with the fried fish. Last time I went I got a shrimp po’boy and it wasn’t that great. There wasn’t much shrimp in it… I guess I was expecting it to have more shrimp than there was.

We eat here for lunch or we get take out to Hops Scholar next door. The food, staff and Zydeco are all fabulous. The portions are generous, We lived on a bayou in SETX and this brings back good memories. Let the good times roll.

This place is a ripoff. You can’t taste the season on the fish or shrimp. The size of the bread is really small for the prices they are charging. Would not go back.

My wife and I decided to give this place a try, since we moved to the area. We are both very picky when it comes to seafood; this place beats them all! The food was perfect, served hot, the staff was polite and constantly checked up in us. Definitely worth more visits to come!

Had dinner with the family here. Blackened tilapia tacos are delicious! If you’re a vegetarian watch out for the beans, there’s meat! If not, enjoy, it’s delicious! And the service was quick and friendly! Def coming back.

Casual and friendly atmosphere. All the fish taste really fresh and not too greasy on all the fried foods. Still a lot on the menu I haven’t tried but eventually I will have tried it all! My kids enjoy it too. The waitresses are always sweet and talk with my kids so they get excited when we come here.

Not a bad spot for a quick bite before heading over to Hop Scholar a few doors down. Service is supper friendly, and I was the only person in so kitchen times where really quick. A simple menu of poboys, fish tacos, and few sides, and gumbo. The gumbo was really good. A lot of flavor, appropriately thick, and with a bit of a kick. The grilled tilapia taco was OK, and a tad expensive for $ 5, especially for what you get. They are not that big, and two tacos and a side are about $ 11+. So still $ 4 – 5 for a taco, which is getting on my nerves(not their fault, it is all these other taco places as well. yes you Torchy’s, and the price of seafood is always going up). Still the tacos are good, just not great, and the remoulade is really good as well. Overall a good spot for a quick bite. Though not the best tacos I have had. That is a hard standard, but still. I do enjoy the spot, and if I am ever getting a beer at Hop Scholar again, I will be sure to stop here for some eats.

Need a Cajun fish place that is a few steps up from fast food and delicious but not overly pricy. Then the Fish Place is for you. Very casual atmosphere. Food is cooked fresh each day. Individual fried entrees and many other entrees are made after you order and brought to your table piping hot. I’ve tried so many things on the menu and the fried catfish and fries were the best so far. The fried shrimp and fried fish poboys are very good also. You have to eat the French fries there. They don’t reheat well at home. They are so delicious. They definitely will give the carnivore in many people precedence with their yummy carb taste. Everything is really delicious overall. The only problem I have with them is the instant rice in their rice and beans side and the overly salty gumbo or inconsistently made gumbo. They also have blackened or grilled fish entrees, jambalaya, étouffée, family packs, salads and quite a variety of yummy sides. They carry several hot sauces and during my taste test of them all, Slap Yo Mommy won. That hot sauce is not the easiest to find in the grocery stores either. Usually awesome to very good service by the cashiers taking my order. Plus I got a fish card so my next meal is free! Unilocal Review #287

Great New Orleans cuisine & zydecco music playing in the background. Try the catfish or tacos dinner with their spicy Tatar sauce. You’ll definitely come back for more.

Food was really good. It is a order at counter, take a number then go sit down kind of place. I like they sell beer and wine. I ordered fish tacos. You can do them how you want… grilled…blackened…fried. With chicken, fish or shrimp. I thought the service was over the top awesome. You could tell the ladies working love what they do. It is a order at the counter and then they bring it to you. They also have a nice little patio — sort of noisy with traffic.

Today I took advantage of the lunch combo-1 fish, 3 shrimp, one side, and hush puppies. I again loved it. I have never not enjoyed this place. It’s also the only business that’s survived in this space. If their fish tacos weren’t so pricey… I might try them. Maybe they’ll run a special or a discount for checking in in Unilocal
