We love Frenchy’s! So glad there’s one so close! We had to wait a minute for an employee but he was very accommodating. Great customer service! Please give this location another chance! Thank you Ivan!

Great food! The taste is always consistent and even though their service is not as speedy or efficient they know how to treat customers with courtesy. There’s been plenty of times where these guys add extra food or offer me a drink for waiting on my order. How can u be mad at that?

Frenchy’s Chicken is incredible. It’s a Houston institution. Cajun/Creole style fried chicken that is some of the best that Houston has to offer. Some of the sides I can do without(rice, jambalaya, corn bread), some of them are really good(red beans and rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, gumbo, étouffée). I’m not lying… the chicken is awesome! Too many Unilocal trolls.

I tried this place for the first time today, the chicken was ok, the rolls were gross and the mashed potatoes and gravy were tasteless! Not returning to this place!

I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the people in front of me to figure out what they wanted. The cashier was trying to help them figure it out by suggesting everything on the menu but someone should have said can you step out of line while you figure out what you want instead of making everyone behind them wait. The Mgr was there and could have opened up the second register to help me but didn’t. So I decided to wait anyway, people had said the food was good. Took a while for the chicken tenders as they were made fresh. The guy behind me was served before me and even before the people in front of me were served. This is a case of if you order chicken pieces and not strips then you get your order quickly because they are ready and I guess and they don’t serve in order. The tenders were ok and the boudin link was good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were GROSS! It was like they dumped grease instead of gravy onto the mashed and I spit out my one bite. The chicken pieces were moist but tasteless and the breading tasted like flour. Will not eat there ever again!

So who has the best fast food chicken? Kind of like asking if you like In-N-Out or Whataburger better. Everyone has their own preferences. So I decided to try Frenchy’s Chicken for the first time. The nice lady at the counter said they had no spicy version :(. So I ordered a ten piece mix family pack and a couple sides. The chicken had a decent crust but was very salty and had a lot of pepper. BTW I love pepper but this was overkill. The collard greens had some bacon and were not overcooked and I enjoyed them but I’m not a collard green expert. My other side was a combo of rice, beans and sausage. This side was yummy and one of the top side entrees I’ve had at a FF chicken restaurant. So I would be willing to try them again and order my same sides and probably give their chicken another try hoping it would not be over salted/peppered. What was nice is that I asked them to drop me a fresh order and they did. It took about twenty minutes for a fresh order. Maybe somehow they can control the seasoning next time. IDK??? BTW I would not suggest ordering their rolls because they are very blah. I think they have cornbread. If so maybe give that a try but no guarantees from me since I haven’t tried it. They’re in a strip center and there is sporadic parking always somewhere. Unilocal Review # 353

From time to time I would want to get some junky food and I came here this time. Got an 8 piece family box just to try everything out. I like the thigh best and would have all thighs if I’m ever gonna come back. Breast is too big for me and not that flavorful for the meat.

Ok … First off, I read the previous reviews and this restaurant has improved in areas. I didn’t find it incredibly warm and I sat by the window. I also found the place to be clean and well kept. They are in a tough market in there location and being average is tough around here. As for the food. I had the three piece chicken with dirty rice and corn bread. Wasn’t a big fan of the corn bread, but, I’ll be honest I’m not a big corn bread fan. Small and, not honey sweet, doughy. The dirty rice lacked zip and needs more favor. Found it to be a bit bland. Three piece meal w/drink $ 8.65 Now for the chicken. Because after all this is a chicken place. Absolutely loved the seasoning combination. Crusty outside skin with visible seasons present. My only critique would be chicken turnover. Chicken under a heat lamp can dry out and freshly cooked chicken rocks. This is the place if you want to pick up a bucket of chicken to take home. The sides … Not so much. Don’t normally comment on rest rooms … But. The Men’s room was clean and well tiled. … But … The smell oh my goodness:( And this wasn’t a case of «he who smelt it, dealt it». Something in the sewer lines. Happy dining …

Frenchy’s is my most favorite fried chicken in the whole world. Why only three stars? On this, my third visit here, they have two problems that haven’t been improved on. Place smells like sewer gas — minus one star. Floor is sticky — minus one star. At first I gave them a pass because they just opened and I was thinking maybe it was just a wrinkle that needed to be worked out. Nope. It seems like those problems are here to stay. Also the music is too loud, but they turned need it down when we asked.

The place is burning up hot every time I go there. Today the thermostat showed 90 degrees in the dining room. I sat directly under s vent and nothing was coming out. New business trying to build a customer base is set to fail if they can’t even budget money to have the AC on in August.

Was pretty excited that a Frenchys had come up this way, so gathered up the kids and headed out. The place was mostly empty Saturday at 6:30. Not a good sign. Haven’t seen a kool-aid fountain in a while, so there’s that. Place was blazing hot, so maybe that explains the lack of patrons. Not even fans to stir up the air. Ordered 3 orders of chicken strips for the boys and the kings special for me. Found a table and waited the seemingly obligatory 15 minutes amid flies and a high density of fruit flies. Floor was sticky. Food came out and the restaurant was out of katsup. Lady made it right by giving us ranch, honey mustard and bbq sauce, but I had to ask for it. Strips were ok, fries pretty good, fried chicken and biscuit was excellent. $ 10 for 2 dark peices, 3 wings, fries and a drink was a little steep, but acceptable, owing to the fact the chicken was so good, but I’ll give it some more time for the manager to get his or her act together before going back.

Floor was sticky. It’s uncomfortably warm in here. Tables need to be bussed. The only real saving of this is the fact that they didn’t ruin the thing they sell. The tenders I got are decent. That’s about the best I can say.

There are more and more Frenchy’s franchises popping up in Houston, but the preferred location for the best chicken is obviously 3rd Ward. When I stopped by this particular Spring location today, the AC wasn’t working – it’s summertime in Texas! The food is sitting out under heat lamps, yet you still have to wait nearly 15 minutes before it’s served. And, while this isn’t a complaint, somebody might want to get an editor to take another look at that«Frenchy’s Story» posted on the wall. As I waited in line, I thought I was doing a proofreading activity. Overall, beyond these things, the chicken is well-seasoned and crispy, it’s just probably not as hot and fresh out of the grease like you might want. Not bad if you’re in the mood for Frenchy’s, but honestly I’d rather wait in line for 30+ minutes in 3rd Ward to truly satisfy this craving.

Chicken crispy, not greasy; but wasn’t hot. We got mashed potatoes and dirty rice for sides, instead of fries. BIGMISTAKE; the sides were terrible! Atmosphere was poor primarily because of the kitchen staff shouting at each other in Spanish. Would be better to just pick-up chicken and have sides at home. We won’t be back!

The food saved this review from being one star, even though it took 15 minutes to get our meals. Other than the food, our visit was pretty rough. First of all, the place was pretty dirty. There were only three other customers aside from us, but half of the tables and chairs were dirty — and no one was in a hurry to clean them. The staff was fairly lethargic and seemed to be going through the motions. Maybe I’ll give it another try in a month or so, but management needs to step up their game. Their are too many options in The Woodlands for me to come in and deal with this nonsense on many more occasions.

It was pretty good. Chicken had great seasoning and the biscuits were really good. The fries, however, were tasteless. They didn’t even put salt on them. And the desert tasted like plastic. The bathroom smelled pretty weird too btw, but anyway, chicken was great, biscuits were great, everything else was pretty mediocre. Okay now that it’s been 15 mins, I’m dropping a star.

Frenchy’s Chicken on Sawdust– YUM! This was my first visit where I picked up the food to go. My husband and I tried the chicken, rolls, corn bread, mashed potatoes, dirty rice, sweet potato pie and lemon cake. It was all really good. The chicken is crispy, moist and not greasy. It also has a great taste without being bland. It was very clean inside and the team behind the counter was very nice. We will be back. I can’t wait to try the Po’boys.

This is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The skin is so crispy and the meat is so juicy. What really sets it apart is the seasoning in the breading. Frenchys down on Scott street is the best fried chicken place in the world, and the chicken at this location is just as good. The only thing that can’t compare to the original is the French fries. The original frenchys has seasoned French fries, but these are plain. Also the original is a drive-thru, but you have to go in to order here. Not a big deal because the chicken is so good!
