First time trying Frenchy’s chicken after having heard about them for the last 15 years. Drive thru service was good and we had to wait extra 10 minutes for the breasts to be done but we weren’t in a hurry so no big deal. We parked in front and they came out with the order on time. The chicken was thoroughly cooked and blazing hot out of the fryer so no complaints there. The red beans and rice were good but could have used a little more seasoning. I’ve been told by everyone who has ate here that the chicken is salty but I thought the seasoning was on point and the crust was just the right thickness to shatter when bitten into. The only complaint is that they need to make sure napkins are in the bag as it is greasy but luckily we had some in the glove box. I’d put this place right up there with Hartz although if the two were right across from each other I would go to Hartz over them. I’d choose Frenchy’s over Popeye’s though. So my top three are Hartz, Frenchy’s and Popeye’s in that order.

This was my first time eating here and I was a little skeptical at first. The wonderful lady behind the counter was super friendly and answers all my questions. I ordered the two piece chicken meal with fries. The fries was super crispy just the way I like it and someone kind of wonderful seasoning on it. The chicken was crispy and not greasy at all and the slice on it was so delicious. Chicken was moist and freshly made. I’ve been to places where my face felt greasy after eating fried chicken but I didn’t feel it here. I will be back to try the other side items like the red beans and rice. Oh on Wednesday you can get the two piece chicken for $ 1.99.

I went to the Frenchy Chicken on 2920 in Spring and ordered the 10 piece family Meal which should have come with 2 legs, 3 thighs, 3 wings, 2 breast and one side for 20.99, but instead I got 5 legs and 5 thighs and 1 side, which was 9.99 with one side. and got charged 21.99 because I up-charged to cornbread. If you go there make sure you check your order before you leave. I feel i just got robbed. Not sure if i would go back paid twice as much as i should have with what i got and did not get what i wanted. Did not want to go back I was hungry and traffic was bad.

I’ve always liked Frenchys chicken so I was excited to see they opened one in this area. We had the 10 piece with 3 cornbread rolls, mash potatoes and the peppers. The chicken was really good. Not greasy like Churches and crispier than KFC. This place knows how to fry chicken. The corn bread rolls were a little crumbly otherwise I would have given five stars. It was my wife’s first time eating Frenchys and she enjoyed it also. Good place to eat fried chicken.

Oh Frenchy’s, how do I love thee! So, I’ve always been a fan, but because of the few locations spread far and wide, I only got go once every few years. So when I saw this gem near home, I was SOOOO happy! My go to is the: 2 piece mini with Mashed potatoes Greens Jalapeño pepper Peach cobbler I usually get the yeast roll, but I was recently given the cornbread by mistake and, wow! What a great mistake it was! I don’t know they put on that thing but it was moist, sweet and a yummy little tanginess of something! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! YUM! The staff is always super duper friendly and they keep the restaurant very clean! I think I’m going to go today!

So happy to have a Frenchy’s so close to home and even more happy to see this location so busy! Folks, this is THE chicken place. No lie. You are going to have to wait for your chicken to get cooked and be patient but OMG! So worth it! The staff even offered us complimentary drinks while we waited. I don’t know how they do it but even 45 minutes later the chicken was still piping hot in the middle. It’s a little salty but I am super salt sensitive so it could be me. Everyone else in my house loves it. Red beans and rice. Yes please! There is even usually a chunk of their spicy sausage in it as an added little treat. Mashed potatoes are yummy! Get the cornbread over the rolls. Next time I will try dirty rice and collard greens. They looked tasty too. Gumbo, jambalaya & étouffée are seasonal but I will be ready to give them all a try in September when they roll out the seasonal stuff.
