This place is right by our neighborhood, and we stop by frequently for quick meals. The spinach and cheese, caprese, and spicy beef are my favorite empanadas, though all the traditional ones I have tried have been great. Special mention needs to be made of their house-made potato chips. Fresh, crunchy, and with just enough salt – amazing. We also love the fries, seasoned with chipotle powder. Highly recommend!

First time coming here. Great place to come with family or friends. Environment is nice and calm. Place is really clean. Food is great. They have a big variety of sushi and other items if you are not a big sushi fan. I totally recommend this place. I will for come back again.

Best empanadas outside of Argentina! We tried about 6 different ones and all of them were great! The fugazetta(onion and cheese) is amazing. The inside is small and clean and the staff is super friendly! We we will be regulars!

Hit or miss. Went with another couple and got a wide assortment. Some very good, others not so much. Depended on personal taste. Would definitely go back to try different selection.

I love supporting locally owned restaurants so when I heard about an Argentinian restaurant near by I was down. The restaurant is down 2920, I normally don’t ever come down that area but my gf suggested it since she lives near by. The place isn’t too big but a good size to accommodate a large group. There was a group of about 8 ladies in there across from us, since it’s not a large place we heard their conversation the entire time. It was kind of annoying but whatevs. So you order your food at the counter, they give you a number and bring your food out to you. Since they’re known for their empanadas I chose to order the 3 empanada special. There’s a ton of filling to choose from and you can choose to have your empanada baked or fried. I chose baked and opted for the spinach/cheese empanada and the corn and spicy chicken. All 3 were delish but my favorite was the spinach/cheese and the spicy chicken. They were a pretty decent size too so 3 really filled me up. I will def. come back and order more empandas in the future for events, etc. The only downside for me was they only offered lipton hot tea and keurig/folgers coffee, meh. My friend and I wanted some tea/coffee that particular day but just not a fan of what they had to offer. Other than that we enjoyed our meal here and the owners were friendly. I will be back to try more empanadas in the very near future!

I like this place. The server recommended Churrasco which is grilled ribeye served with salad and I chose their home made chips as a side. Normally it comes with rice. But they ran out of rice. The steak was very tasty especially if you dip it in the chimichurri sauce. They also specialize in empanadas. My husband ordered a combo(spinach and cheese) and my brother ordered what seems to be a popular one, criolla and ham and cheese. Place is clean and the server is very polite and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Empanadas are out of this world!!! Small in the inside but the food was made fresh and hot! Didn’t taste like a frozen thing. Takes a while though to don’t expect it to be fast. The empanadas is the real deal! And great prices. The empanadas are big and filled.

Good food, great portions, this is not a quick meal type of place, but I feel the taste of the empanadas was worth the wait. I thought or was a nice touch that the empanadas themselves are stamped with tiny numbers so, if the bring you your order of 3 different empanadas you look on the edge for the tiny number and match it to the menu numbers. The spinach empanada was the only one I didn’t like because I felt it had too much spinach for my liking. We got the baked ones, I was assured that the fried ones were even better. And if you follow them on instagram, and let them know, they will give you a free empanada.

Just for their chimichurri they deserve five stars. I always get a couple of spinach empanadas. They have a couple or so more vegetarian options which I appreciate. I didn’t quite like the sweet empanadas I tried, but I’ll leave that to personal preference.

I ordered the lunch special with a sweet potato/chocolate empanada. I got a cheeseburger and a pepperoni. Cheeseburger empanada was above average but nothing special. The pepperoni was average at best. I guess I was expecting some sauce inside besides the cold cheese sticks and the pepperoni. The sweet potato/chocolate was tasty but was half filled and had barely any sweet potato in it. For $ 11.63 I expected to leave not hungry but did although I’d did save the soup for the misses as I don’t care for mushrooms. Place was clean and the people were nice. I’ll come back to try one of the traditional empanadas.

Stopped by for a take out on a weeknight. There were two parties sat down waiting for their dinner, but it wasn’t busy at all(really sad because this place deserves to be busy). The girl behind the counter welcomed me in and asked what I would like, I told her how I had not been in before nor really experienced the goodness that is Argentinian food. After a quick explanation of the menu and the process, I picked out two empanadas, she explained they have a special combo for 2 empanadas plus a drink so I went with her suggestion. After about ten minutes after paying, my food was all ready to go in a box. The girl working was polite and helpful, and I was really excited to try my new dish. Boy, was it wonderful. I thought just two empanadas?! How is that going to fill me up? It did. I was stuffed. I definitely recommend it if you’re feeling like stepping out of the box a little to try something new. Don’t be afraid to ask what something is, and ask for recommendations. Most importantly have fun!

Now that I have been here several times with no disappointments, a review seems worth it. I live right around the corner from this place and fell victim to a case of the«i’ll go there next time» thing. One of those places that is close enough for me to continually put it off. The first visit was great. The owner took the time to go over the menu with me which was nice. It certainly isn’t a huge menu but it’s nice since he asked if it was my first visit and he took that time. I went with a baked Criolla and baked spicy chicken empanada. My order came up and then he took the time to explain the baked in identifier(clever) and the chimichurri that comes with every order. By the time I was into the second empanada, I was deciding which ones I would try on my next visit. They are truly delicious. I’ve been back a few times now and I’ve tried some others. They are all great so far. The first two I tried(criolla, spicy chicken) are still my favorite. It could be that I was overwhelmed by how good they were for my first visit, or it could be they’re just that good. Either way, I’ll still enjoy those two as well as the other offerings here more and more in the future.

This place is my new favorite restaurant right now! I have lived in Argentina for a few years and so I am always on the lookout for good Argentine cuisine. This place is just around the corner from me and its serving up top quality authentic Argentine empanadas and some real nice sandwiches. Hit this place up for the Lomito Especial eat while you wait for an order of 12 or more empanadas half-baked so you can complete them in your oven at home for dinner while catching a game on TV or whatever it is you feel like watching,. La Chef’s empanadas are going to make your day a whole hell of a lot better!

First time going and everything was so good! I had the spicy beef in baked and fried and both were delicious! The only down fall is that you can’t take any of the ingredients out because they’re pre-made. I also had the sweet potato and chocolate empanada and it was bomb! Definitely going again some time soon. Highly recommend! They offer good prices as well.

Food is delicious and fresh. Empanadas are flaky not greasy. Prices are great too. So glad there’s a place near me that sells empanadas! Also try their desserts too!

I stopped after seeing the lunch special empanadas on a banner out front. I had thought this would be some overpriced place serving carrot sticks and overthought smoothies. It turned out to be fresh, simple, flavorful comfort food at a great price. The empanadas are small enough you can try more than one flavor but big enough one would make a small meal. The chimichurri sauce is good enough I’m going back to her a bigger container for at home use. I would put that stuff on everything! I tried the spicy beef and criolla. Both were great. i wish I could say one was better but they both rocked. I also tried baked and fried. I liked baked myself. Felt family owned and ran? Nice people and very friendly. I will be working on the rest of the menu this month, it’s a hard job but I think I’m up to the task!

I was very excited to find out that an empanada house was going to be on my side of town. La Chef did not disappoint! We were greeted with a friendly smile upon entering the quaint little restaurant and had a pleasant chat with the owner. He very proudly told us that his wife makes everything herself and he hopes we like it. There are about 18 different empanadas to choose from and the option to get them fried or baked. I chose the Criolla(ground beef, hard boiled egg, onions, and olives), the Pulled Pork, and a side of homemade chips. The empanadas come with hot sauce and chimchurri for dipping. They also cleverly imprint the order number in the corner of the empanada so you know which flavor each one is without cutting them open. The empanadas were delicious! Even though I ordered them fried, they were light and flaky. The filling was excellent. So much flavor packed into a little pocket of deliciousness! The homemade chips were a perfect compliment. For dessert, I ordered Alfajor(two delicate cookies filled with dulce de leche and rolled in coconut), an apple and Nutella empanada, and a sweet potato and chocolate empanada. I was told the apple and Nutella is very popular, but I have to say that the sweet potato was my favorite. This definitely won’t be my last visit to La Chef. I look forward to making my way through the rest of the menu.
