As soon as I walked in, a lady in the back of the store said Welcome to Payless let me know if you need any help, I walked toward the children shoes and I seen a woman working behind the desk on the floor and she didn’t welcome me. Anyways, I walked toward the children shoes, and the same woman that greeted me told me about their BOGO sale, and I asked her what it meant, like was it only for shoes or shoes and other items, she said everything in the store. So I purchased a pair of shoes and a pair of hoops, the same lady ran from the back of the store to ring me up, even though their was 2 other women that could have helped me. But she was very nice and went the extra mile to help me. I love good customer service. Will do my business here again.

Some may look at me and wonder why I would be shopping at Payless Shoe Source. I’m a grown man with a good job who reviles the days of his youth and the torment by those around him for being a dreaded Pro Wing velcro sneaker wearer. But, alas, I grew up poor and that’s how it was… The quality of the low budget shoe has certainly improved since the days of Pro Wings(and despite what Macklemore says… nobody is going to enviously say«Damn he got them velcros…») and being that I ball on a budget, the small first grader in our home is for now subjected to shoes from Payless and not the latest Jordans until such a time as kids start to care about such things(probably like 2nd grade). What stood out to me with our most recent visit to this establishment was the service provided by the woman working there. Never thought I’d have a great experience at a Payless, but boy was I wrong… people in customer facing businesses could learn a little something about product advocacy from the woman who as(wo)manning the store during our visit. She did the following: 1) Warmly greeted us to the store 2) Offered personal assistance in which she worked with and spoke directly to our child like he’s a real person(hint: he is) 3) Offered us the BOGO deal they had on socks at the time(we declined, but it was nice to offer) 4) Encouraged us to come back because Payless always had a great selection of new merchandise to choose from Most experiences at Payless go more the route of minimum wage working not giving a real rat’s ass if you buy something there or not. This experience stood out because it was none of that. Kudos to her… any organization should be honored to have an employee like that.
