The food is good. The service is hit-or-miss. After about eight visits I’ve decided not to go back. Salt shakers were filthy, windows are filthy, our table was so sticky at the edge where I was sitting that I had to go wash my hands and then put the napkin over it. Too bad they can’t get the cleanliness part better.

We ate there on a Friday night and I must say it was the worst service I have ever experienced … Waited at the table for 15 min before we were asked for our drink order. Then I received my food 15 min before my wifes and you can forget water refills. I could not wait to get out of there.

I’m a local and work from home, so this is a great place at the end of the day for great drinks and food. The staff remembers me and takes care of everyone. I highly recommend.

Always easy to get in and out. A favorite of ours. Sometimes food tastes like it has been pre cooked prior to ordering and has been sitting out(Stale taste/crusty rice) you will be served big portions– Consider sharing a plate. Servers are always kind and attentive.

Ordered tuna sashimi and was almost knocked over by the smell. BAD! I wouldn’t recommend Shogun if it were the last restaurant on earth!

Not what it used to be. Tried it after not going for about a year and it was disappointing. The crab on the shogun roll had a stale taste and when we told the waitress she said the cook just made it, which yeah he put it together but it doesn’t mean your ingredients are fresh. I also got a rainbow roll that wasn’t that good either. I would prefer a store bought roll the the ones that they had there. Save your money, there’s better places in the area.

Love the sushi! The traditional meals are good. We love the salad… we think they have the best dressing then other Japanese Steak Houses we have been to. We have ordered carry out a few times and it was great.

Sushi is decent. Hibachi is terrible compared to The Woodlands Shogun. I’ve eaten at The Woodlands Shogun a lot and I ate here twice, second time I got food poisoning… not going back.

I would like to give them 2 ½ stars. The sushi is good, the hibachi is yummy, but what the issue is this place seems dirty. All the tables are sticky along with the salt and pepper shakers. Plus when their main guy Leon, who would do the sushi left, the quality seemed to diminish…

The food is almost always right on! Service, on the other hand… I’ve been going to this location for many years. But sometimes I wonder why! Yes. Most of the time the food is great! Tonight I went in and ordered food to go. I was charged extra for something I’ve not been charged for in the past. I had a special request for soy paper rather than the seaweed on my roll and reitterrated several times my request, but when already home, no soy paper! The closing hour is supposedly 10:00. I began calling to tell them of the mistake and my displeasure about 8:30 as it is 8:58 right now. The phone continues to ring and then is disconnected altogether. Customer service?

Weve eaten at sho gun several times and go sushi. Each time we were always satisfied with what we order. We always sit at the sushi bar and chit chat with the sushi chef’s. We will be back..

Only ate here once, will definitely not return. Should have listened to the other reviews but we were desperate for food and did not want fast food. This place was the only venue open. Neither of us finished our meals. I tipped very low which is something I rarely do, but the service was atrocious considering we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant. Have a little respect for your business and maybe respond to these reviews and in turn create change at your establishment instead of being lazy.

Went for lunch today on Valentines. They charged dinner prices which I get because its a holiday. The lady taking our orders was rude. The chef comes out and all he does is cook the food. No show, no talking to anyone at the table and the food was awful. It had no flavor. I always call the manager if I have a bad experience before leaving a bad review. Just called and the manager did not care. I will not be going back! Go to HB’s on 1960. MUCH better service and their food is great!

Last night, my husband and I went eat at Shogun. I got the Ika salad, spicy tuna roll and the Pink Lady roll. These are my favorite rolls to order and we’ve been eating there for 7 yrs since we moved here. Well my first bite of the Ika salad and I had to return it. The squid was«past due» which is a nice way of putting it. I had to hurry and spit it out. The salmon was also off tasting. I’m not sure if the ownership or management has changed but we have noticed a decline in the atmosphere, the lack of «showmanship» with the Hibachi chefs and finally after last night, the food. I’ve never returned food before so yes, it was that bad. Please let Shogun read this and reassess their standards because this area is building up and it would be easy for a new place to come in and take sushi lovers business in this area. As of right now, not going back to Shogun.

First time to eat here. Based on other reviews I was expecting slow service. But didn’t experience it. Service was good, food was excellent with large portions. I got the chicken teppenyaki(?). Came with salad, soup, 2 shrimp, steamed rice, veggies and two sauces. Also ordered spring rolls appetizer. Everything was good and I’ll be returning. Maybe on the return trip we’ll tried the hibachi table.

I came a while back and I am just getting around to reviewing this place. I had been here several times, but after the last time it is my last. I ordered sashimi with three specifics types of fish listed on the menu. The waiter brings me my sashimi, but there is no whitefish. Funny enough, I had ordered the same thing just two days prior, so I knew what I was getting. When I questioned the waiter where my whitefish was, he went to the sushi chef and inquired, and came back with the response that the sushi chef can substitute whatever they want to. Really? Is that why the menu states three specific types of fish? So I ate it, however, I was upset as it was not what I ordered not did they attempt to correct their error. When the waiter came back with my check, I paid and tipped the, 15%. However when I thought about it, I told the, to remove my tip. When they inquired why, I said because you didn’t bring me what I ordered and instead of correcting it, you did not offer to ask me how to correct it. By then the manager said, that they would make it up the next time. I told them, there will not be a next times they could not make it right the first time around. Totally disappointed.
