Food is pretty good but service isn’t. I mean what’s the point in ordering in Spanish when the staff can barely speak a word of English, and they still mess up your order…

I’ve been to Taquerias Arandas three times in the past few months — I’ve gotten different Tacos each time and enjoyed each and every one. Simple recipe — take basic cuts of meat, cook them well, and ramp up the flavor with smart veggie/spice pairings. I think something has to be said about«expectation». Do not go here expecting white linen tablecloths. Do not expect modern/chic interior design/lighting. Do not expect to be checked on every two minutes because the wait staff tends to have 10 – 20 tables at a time — they don’t have many empty tables during peak meal hours. Taquerias Arandas is called a dive in some of the reviews. It is. If you’re in the mood for a casual atmosphere though, dive into its menu because the food exceeds its surroundings.

Great tea! I got a burrito and my friend got quesadillas. Burrito was a little greasy but still tasted pretty good, needed a little extra seasoning. The quesadilla was awesome. Rice and beans were great just needed a little salt and pepper. Great queso and salsas, chips were thick and crispy. The restaurant looked clean and our only problem was a wobbly table. Restrooms were clean. With a full restaurant there were only about 5 servers. Service wasn’t slow, it was average for a full restaurant with a small staff. Staff was nice and the menu was easy to read. I rated it 3 stars because it’s not somewhere I’m going to become a regular at but it was decent for the price.

This place has the worse customer service ever! The table we sat at was as dirty as the floors! The waitress seemed bothered by the fact that I asked for the table to be cleaned off! She even forgot my order after I nicely requested to have the table cleaned off! Not to mention the waitress before her handed us over after requesting for the table to be cleaned off! We ended up leaving, didn’t even touch our tea, paid & left! Definitely won’t be back & I do not recommend this place at all!!!

Stay away from this place. Horrible service. The food is disgusting. The restaurant stinks. When you first walk in pay attention to the glass doors on how dirty they are, and from there on everything is as dirty as those doors.

I have always had great food, great service and great margaritas here… and I look white!!! Seriously, food is good salsa is good, yes Sunday is packed! Everyone needs menudo for hangover. Price is amazingly low for Houston I lived in San Antonio for 9 years where they practically give the food away

Why people come to this place is beyond me!!! Took leftovers home and even my hound dog wouldn’t eat it! There are 2 exceptional Mexican restaurants in the strip mall that shares the same parking lot that totally blow this place away. Go eat there for authentic Mexican food.

I have heard that this restaurant serves really good food, so I was excited to try it. The food and atmosphere fell short of my expectations.

Really reappointed the food wasn’t good the service meh, we went like 25 people party we were exited to try the food I’m sure the boss paid for right amount of food for each of of but instead we got very small portion plus the restaurant put one waitress to take care drinks which i don’t blame her impossible to handle 25 people at one time, the food wasn’t even hot, they used refried beans they look disgusting is like melt plastics, save your money go somewhere else,

The food is about 80% authentic Mexican food and 20% Tex-Mex. The street tacos are way better at Taco de Julio, but I do like their pozole, barbacos and the green dipping sauce.

One of the newer Taqueria Arandas. Green salsa is the bomb! The bar is awesome with Spanish language karaōke on some nights, but don’t worry really can’t hear it in the dinning area if that’s not your thing. My wife and I have been going here for years for the breakfast, which is a super great deal.

This place is horrible sorry not even one star with me but I have to add a star if I want to place a review(seriously Unilocal if they don’t deserved it don’t make us give them one) I was there last week on Friday I got food poison I should have know better not to eat here after walking in and smelling the smoke from the bar next to it that fulfill the place from one corner to the other and I should have also read the reviews from others on Unilocal, well here is the story service is bad and horrible they took to long to take our order the Jamaica water taste like tap water with sugar in it nothing else, the tacos my husband order where flavorless nothing to even say I will be back and do take out the kids had the quesadillas but they didn’t even finish the food since they didn’t like them so much, as for me I order the al pastor tacos the flavor was not good I didn’t even finish my food at all so I told my husband to ask for the check and I started to feel sick as soon as we got in the car, I got food poison from this place I feel terrible that I let my kids eat here, I could not eat anything at all for two days, for me this place was a bad experience and will not be back so for those that likes this place just stay safe and for me and my family I would not recommend It at all. Please be careful food poison didn’t kill me thank god but I did felt really sick.

This place has been blacklisted for my fiancé and I. We loved coming to this place for the tacos, flautas, and super cheap prices. We started noticing a very steep decline on service to the point we felt they didnt like us. We were very respectful and easy«three tacos on corn, one flauta meal, and two cokes». We cleaned the table completely and stacked everything on the edge for easy cleanup. We also tipped well. around 30% everytime to see if we could become the good customers everyone wants. nope. I seriously hate throwing out the race card(my fiancé is filipino, im white) but I have never felt racism until I come to this place, she felt the same way. I came in one time with a mexican friend of mine and we were in and out less then 30 minutes from arriving. We decided it was not worth eating there anymore so I decided to try take out. I called my order in and whoever answered the phone could not speak English. When I arrived I felt like I was an inconvenience when I asked for my order at the register. We said no more. Well 6 months later we decided to try one more time. Service was even worse. Its now a building I will not step foot into or support. From my experience… Pros– –food was tasty –as everyone else says, green sauce mmm –cheap cheap prices –open late, I believe I had dinner one night at 1:30am –they jam out some of that good mexican music –the reg chip guy always has our chips as soon as we sit down –horchetta!(Spelling?) –alcohol beverages were large and cheaper Cons– –horrible service: once we got the food they seem to forget about us. No refills. no «yall good» and seriously I have to wave them down to get my check even if we sit there for an hour after. –rude staff, nice to their people –if something was incorrect on your order it can be hell to get them to care –regular salsa for chips is runny(watery) –parking sucks sometimes –karaōke night with mexicans singing George Straight –prices have gone up, used to cost 23 for everything but once they updated their menu now 28. –food quality has declined slightly over 6 months –wait they times –dine in dine out. both bad experiences –did I forget to mention SERVICE? I would recommend maybe trying out if you have not before. You may fall in love with the food or a mexican woman wearing club clothes :) everyone has their own experience here so give it a shot and you may enjoy. However I will not return.

Disgusting! Had been going to this place up until a month ago when they took very long to even take our order. When they did, however, the waiter seemed apologetic enough. Everything was going fine until one of the guests accompanying me bit into one of their tacos and tasted mint. She opened it and there was GUM in it. How disgusting! Never going to return there in my life. Not worth it for cheap, greasy food and mediocre service.

LITERALLY had the worst service of my life. it took 2 hours to bring out chili con queso. We got charged for water and our waitress had the WORST attitude and had a problem with every single order out of a group of 6… not impressed with the food either.

Green sauce was good. Interesting menu choices. I went with the steak soft tacos on corn tortillas. The chips were good and crisp. Wait time was a bit of a problem. It was very commercial though and lacked authenticity. It reminded me of a fast food restaurant combined with a sit in diner. It was decent though!

Food was good, not a bad portion for a cheap price. The reason we stopped by is because they are one of the few that are open later than 11pm. Good service!

Nearly broke a tooth on a 1 cm x .2cm shard of glass in my enchiladas today. They offered to replace my meal, not comp it. The manager wasn’t even concerned… His first comment as he inspected the shard was«this could be plastic…» FAIL

Dared to revisit our local Taqueria Aranda’s. We really like the food. It’s quite tasty and quick and definitely better than most fast food chains. We were pleasantly surprised. No awful bleach and sewage smell. Not even a hint! Hopefully it stays that way. The favorite creamy authentic refried beans have changed to a salty possibly canned version. Not sure, hopefully just an off day. Confidence back.
