Texas Litter Control

I took my cat here today and they were really nice. They also made sure I understood the after care of my cat. And when I asked about getting my dog fixed they also gave me information over that. My cat seemed happy as soon as she got home. She ate and drank water right away just as they said she would. I’m very happy I decided to go here and will definitely be taking my dog there and any other vet services we may need.

First off, the staff is great. Second, due to being low cost it takes a while to get it. Or did for me. About 3 weeks. Not that bad, but I am used to a quicker appointment with a vet. Now to why I gave 3 stars. Had two cats spayed a week ago. One is fine. The other is not. I had to bring her back in on Saturday, no appointment as it was a post op exam due to her being sick. Lack of eating, vomiting, diarrhea, and depression/​lack of movement. I did have to wait an hour or so, but staff was doing their best to fit me in between appointments. The actual vet was not helpful at all, a bit annoying actually with no real explanations except offer her a buffet of different foods to entice her to eat. I had done that the night before on a smaller scale, but I was willing to try again with more foods. (this time 5 different dry foods, tuna fish, turkey breast, milk, can food, can food that was mostly broth, cat treats and cheese. She only ate a small amount of the canned broth one and dry.) The male vet tech seemed more knowledgable than the vet and honestly I trusted him way more. He was excellent and both techs kind to my cat. They gave her fluids because she may of been dehydrated, she has black gums due to her coloring so we couldn’t tell 100%. I’ve gotten her to eat a small bit today and last night but she’s throwing it back up hours later. Now the REAL reason for 3 stars… Debating going to 1 except the staff is great and helpful and my other cat seems to be fine. I just discovered that the medication they give, metacam, has horrible warnings and can cause renal failure. Nobody was told of these horrible side effects before leaving! No other options were given! I’m so glad I researched it before giving them both doses! So now I’m freaking out that they gave my cat a medication that can cause her death. This cat is like a child to me. All pet loves matter, but Her life is VERY important to me. It is going to be a long night of worry until a full service vet opens and I can rush her in for tests, which I’m sure are going to cost a fortune. I’ll never let another cat of mine be given metacam again!

These people are amazing! Since we have lived here, we have always brought our pups here for their shots and even a new pup to get spayed. The vets are amazing. Very professional and the vet assistants are always so sweet and make the whole process for my babies seamless and quick. I would recommend this place to everyone! There previous office on Pruitt was very small and crowded but their new office is amazing!
