Uncle Wankies Restaurant

Good riddance to bad food and lousy service. I was served possibly the worst Reuben in the world here. And when my husband had to go into the kitchen to find our server to tell her his order was wrong (she was very busy texting someone), we decided then that this place was on our «Never go back «list.

We went tonight for a burger and found it locked up and cleaned out! They have closed their doors.

The food is excellent. This time I had the catfish basket and is was excellent.

The help is completely helpless and rude.
They are extremely slow, forgetful, and just plain untrained.
The good takes way to long and when it arrives is usually wrong. I mean a slice of american prepackaged cheese melted onto an omlet? Are you kidding me?
My chicken fried steak had burned bits of food on the bottom of it from God KNOWS how many DAYS of frying with the same nasty oil.
I don’t mind giving a bad review because I am pretty sure the place will be shut down by either the health department or lack of business before they can read this.

Breakfast @ 2:00pm hit the spot!!! Over medium with ham and hash browns toast All good! Wife’s Reuben was right on! Worth the visit! Very good family environment.

Forgot part of our order and didn’t get the other part correct. Don’t think I will be going back.

Descent food, descent setting, descent staff, descent price. Nothing really ‘wow’ about this place. If your looking for descent, then this is the place to try.

Second visit for breakfast. I had the waffle platter and Bf had The Chucky snd we split the fruit bowl. Amazingly fast service, especially for a Sunday am seating. Good good with a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

I like the look of the players and the staff are friendly I hope the meal is as good as the staff

I’ve only ever ate breakfast here but it is always good as long with good service as well!

The food was ok to pretty good. They have a sign on the table that says Like us on Facebook. Leave us a Unilocal review, show your server to get 10% off. So I did that while I was sitting at the table, but when the server came back with the check, she said it was too late. Not cool Uncle Wankie. Why put the sign if you aren’t going to honor it? We won’t be back.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times for breakfast and it’s far better than others. The portions are large and the cooking is great. I’m planning on going for lunch

Conveniently located to our neighborhood. Great atmosphere, clean, and courteous staff. Nice game room for kids. Fast service at a reasonable price.

Second visit update — food was great & service and as fast & friendly.
3^rd visit — chicken fried steak was great and so was the pork chop dinner. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I like this place.

Seeing as my parents are fond of this restaurant, I had high hopes and really wanted to like it. Now to start off, the ambiance of the place is great. They have a play area for kids, cute decorations and a friendly staff. But food wise, not very impressive. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and presentation wise it was nice, but the mashed potatoes were dry, the fried pickles tasted kind of old/​weird and the chicken fried steak was also dry. Now my parents seemed to have enjoyed their meal so maybe mine was just a fluke. If you ask my parents, they’ll say this is a wonderful establishment and they’ll be sure to visit often. As for me once was enough.

Terrible service. Seated and asked for tea with lemon. Got tea no lemon. Waiter diappeared. Another customer had to scream several times at the kitchen to get somone to take his money. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Don’t waste your time or money. Food quality is unpredictable as well. We used to like the place but obviously the owner has lost interest.

I guess we should have ordered breakfast because what we had was awful. I got chicken tenders that lacked any sort of flavor and when I asked for cream gravy I got a greasy congealed disgusting mess. My daughters kids burger was burnt, was missing cheese and came on a soggy squished bun. When I asked for cheese I was brought cold plastic wrapped cheese on a plate. The fries were undercooked and mealy and service was slooow, I never got a refill. Oh and they were out of lemons… seriously Kroger is right next door. Never again, I should’ve asked for a refund.

I’ve had breakfast several times and it has always been good and a fair value. But the few times I have eaten here for dinner or lunch the food had disappointed me. The quality of food is below par for the prices they charge. Today I had the chicken avocado. The chicken was overlooked and had no flavor at all, it was served in a hamburger bun that reminded me of the cheap buns you buy at Walmart for less than a dollar a bag.
I will not eat lunch or dinner at Uncle Wankies again, but for breakfast sure.

Just tried dinner for the first time here, very disappointed. More so since we really enjoyed breakfast & were excited to try dinner. First we ordered the fried mushrooms. Our basket of shrooms consisted of 8 – 10. I even asked the server if they made a mistake on the count of the mushrooms. Normally when you go to a restaurant and order an appetizer of mushrooms you get a whole basket full of fried mushrooms this count didn’t even cover the bottom of the basket. The server responded that the owner has them count out that many mushrooms and that she thought it was on the high side in price for what you get but there was nothing she could do about it.
I ordered the mushroom Swiss Burger Per her recommendation with fries and my husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings. I asked if I could get my hamburger medium but when I received my burger it was well done it was so dry I had to put more ketchup on it to be able to swallow down half of the burger. I did however, like the fact that it was on a Hawaiian bun and the cheese and the mushrooms on it were tasty. My husband said the hoagie roll the Philly cheesesteak came on was not fresh and the onion rings were so hard that when he took a bite he couldn’t even bite into them.
When the server came up and asked how dinner was I told her pretty much everything I just said here. She apologized and said that she was sorry that we didn’t enjoy our dinner & that normally they only get 1 to 2 complaints a week and that everybody really enjoys their food and comes back. I explained that we really enjoyed breakfast and that’s why we came for dinner but we would never be back for dinner again. She apologized again and said that everybody is entitled to their opinion and then brought us our check.
After I paid for our bill in full she did come back with two coupons for us to use for a free breakfast on our next visit.

A flyer in the mail brought us in to Uncle W’s, we took advantage of the kids eat free coupon. The food was ok at best and the staff seem very inexperienced.
My wife and I both ordered the grilled chicken breast. The breast was flavorful but very small and thin, maybe 3 oz breast. My wife enjoyed her green beans and mashed potatoe sides. I didn’t enjoy my red and beans rice or the coleslaw. Kids had the cheeseburger meal but tasted like any other frozen fries or burger paddy.
The restaurant did not fully honor the «kids eat free» coupon we had. The menu shows meal includes fries and drink We were charged additional for kids drinks and after sending check back twice, we were still charged part of kids meal.
We might return in the future to see if the «growing pains» have passed. We do like to support local small business owners and hope they improve service and food.
