Very friendly family salon. Awesome atmosphere and love the concept of the shop which is college banners in the wall. Every stylist has done a good job in my hair and the good thing is that there’s a Starbucks couple doors down

The ladies working there gossip too much and do not focus on cutting hair. They also comment on the television shows they have on in the salon instead of focusing on cutting hair. When I call to make appointments they are not very helpful and seem to not want to make an appointment unless it is specifically for the person who answered the phone. Very unprofessional and unfriendly.

I’ve been going there for over 15 years. It’s great to see the same faces. I usually make an appointment because they’re so busy. They do take walk ins. Liked this so much started taking my son there has been going there since his first haircut. Staff is very friendly and very accommodating.

My first time in, I thought I had found a new barber shop. The lady who cut my hair was very nice and did an excellent job. Sadly, I haven’t seen her there since. Other visits were OK; good haircuts, and the staff was at least as good as TGF or any of these other basic salons. It cost a little more here, but they’re a local place, have a loyalty card, and there was always the hope I’d see the nice lady from my first visit again. Unfortunately, my last visit was unacceptable. The rather distracted lady cutting my hair not only assumed that I must part it(I never have, and it certainly wasn’t when I came in), but she also must have assumed that I’m left handed. It wasn’t busy, and the other ladies were loudly gossiping about co-workers and other customers that had come in earlier in the day. They must have thought that the(open) break-room door had a magical sound-proofing barrier. Or maybe customers are just invisible to them. So, that will probably be my last visit for a while. I may drive by slowly to see if that lady from my first visit is working(I wish I had caught her name so I could call to check!), but otherwise, I’m steering clear.

extremely unprofessional and rude. the owner is then worst offender. she would prefer that her shop does men’s barber cuts and not hair styles or color and cuts for women. absolutely NO customer service. stay far away. there are tons of hairstylists in the Woodlands/Spring area, this is not one of them.

«Rudeness and lack of professionalism» cited in another reviewer’s comments is dead-on for this local family salon. It really seems to depend which stylist you get when you call for an appointment or go as a walk-in. My husband’s hair is fairly simple to cut and twice he’s had to go to Sport Clips nearby to have the cut he got at Village Cuts fixed. I have had both the extremely rude and unprofessional woman mentioned and another nice but distracted and completely unprofessional young woman attempt to cut my hair. For $ 45 plus tip neither did even a satisfactory job trimming 2″ off my simple long hairdo. At one point the distracted woman stopped drying my hair and began cutting one section shorter and shorter until I asked her to stop. The rude woman never even asked me what I wanted and actually refused to wash my hair telling me she«didn’t do that». FYI if you do go, there are a couple of reasonably competent stylists however they are usually impossible to see on nights/weekends. And coloring is only done one day a week, on Saturday, by ONE stylist in the salon. It’s mind boggling to go to what is supposed to be a full service salon and find out they cannot provide 95% of their service unless you go in during 9 – 5 weekdays. For those of us who work this is obviously not possible. For older men and small children only, don’t waste money or time at Village Cuts otherwise.

Village Cuts is the first place I took my kids to get their hair cut when we first moved to The Woodlands. I was very happy with our first experience there. One sweet lady(I wish I knew her name) was so good with my very difficult 6-year-old. The next time I called to see if I could get him in the same day, she stayed past her shift just to cut his hair. She is WONDERFUL. I have been very happy with the other stylists too for the most part. However, the last time we went in was the LAST time we will go in. The person who cut my 6-year-old’s hair did not like kids. It was obvious. She was extremely rude and actually said that she wanted«it to be over» more than my son did. Her rudeness and lack of professionalism did not reflect well on an otherwise nice family hair cut place. We will be looking for someplace else to get our family of five’s hair cut.

I have been getting my hair cut here for years(10+)…well, what’s left of it! It is a mix between a barber shop and beauty salon… I see ladies in there getting cuts and styles but, I must say, to me it is just a barber shop and should focus on that aspect of their business. I like it because the same«barbers» have been there for years, they know my name and I enjoy the relationship of a loyal customer. If you are looking for a barber shop, I recommend it. If you are looking for a beauty shop, you may want to go somewhere else… unless you like the barber shop atmosphere. The current owner changed the name a few years ago when she bought it and has tried to increase the marketing and branding but, to be honest, I liked the other name, which was Village Barbers… a much better definition. So, my 4 stars are for me and I would suspect it may not fair so well to a «newbie». I tend to like non-chain/non-franchise places where you can get to know the people. If you are looking for a barber shop where they will remember your name instead of the assembly line process of all those chain barber shops where the stylist seem to still be in training, you may want to give it a try. If you do go, tell Peggy I said hi.
