I am not even really sure where to begin, I booked a room for this hotel via Wyndham website where it stated the hotel had recently been taken over by Wyndham and that renovations occurred. So we ended up arriving late almost 10p on a Thursday night. We walk in and their is a drunk man and woman very quietly bickering near the elevator. Not my business it could happen anywhere… They decide in their shorts and tank tops to go stand out side and smoke — it’s below zero. So whatever again not my business. The elevator is walled with fake bricks. Like some sort of vinyl flooring attached to the walls, OK I’ll look past this cosmetic imperfection I am tired and my 2 girls want a quick swim in the pool before bed. After arriving on the 3rd floor I am immediately hit with a couple very loudly arguing and a baby screaming and some undesirables have propped their door open as if to watch people exit the elevator as if they are scoping everyone out to see what rooms to hit up for jewels and cash. So we get in our room, immediately on the left is a giant counter with the bathroom sink. We had a hard time finding a light switch so I held the door open and my daughter turned on the lamp, the room was frigid — the heat hadn’t been turned on. We still couldn’t find a light switch it is in a rather odd place, the other light switch we found is actually a timer that only lasts 15 minutes and it is for the lights over the bathroom sink, at first glance it’s clean and tidy, a bit small but for a night it was fine. The beds were made and looked fresh, the bathroom was clean and free of hair. The carpet is newer, the tv worked. Great — now lets swim! UMMMMHOWABOUTNOOOO, the pool deck was filthy, the glass room that the pool is in was COLD, the pool water was cold, the hot tub was way hotter then any other hot tub I ever used. There was so much chlorine in the water it stung my eyes and I didn’t even get in yet. Well it was late I’m achy I’ll try the hot tub — maybe it’s only so hot because I’m cold — well the amount of chlorine stung my skin — forget it I’m not even trying to get in past my toes. My daughters jumped in the swimming pool before I could utter a warning. They both ended up with red burnt eyes and some sort of rash. After getting them back upstairs for a shower, where we discovered that they are stingy with their towels, their skin was very dry skin. The beds ended up being awful! Rock hard. The pillows MEH I have had better. My daughters found a brownish colored stain on their sheets GROSS — I pulled that sheet off and remade the bed with out it. We were supposed to stay 2 nights I checked us out the next morning and found a Hilton. I think Wyndham has some more work to do on this place. The desk staff was friendly.

I’m giving it 3 stars because the room and the hotel in general were very clean. However, there were a few minuses. While the room was very clean, there is no light switch at the door. Ok, we go to turn on the bed lamps and they don’t work. After finding a light that would turn on, we discovered the bed lamps were unplugged. Also, there were no drinking glasses or cups for the in-room coffee. My wife said the breakfast attendant wasn’t very friendly. But the kicker was, the walls must be paper thin. Our neighbors were not having a party, but we could hear them talking all night. And I mean ALL night. We didn’t call the desk because how do you tell people not to talk. We did mention it at check out and they were sympathetic, but the standard answer was, you should have called us. It was only an overnight stay but not much sleep for the next leg of our trip.

As far as it goes I have to give at least 2 stars because it was a Clean Room but that is where it stops, worst bed ever like sleeping on a pile of stones Desk Clerk tells me that some guest like the beds I asked him if they were the Flintstones? Shower water pressure is low and almost hard to rinse all the soap off but it just took extra time is all, it was a Full House and wasn’t real loud at any time, I think for the money you could do allot better I think and will look a little harder on my next trip through

We wouldn’t stay here again. We couldn’t get a good nights sleep here. They’re a pet-friendly hotel and someone kept dogs in a van parked outside our room and they barked at night. In addition, the ceiling creaked VERY loudly whenever someone above us walked around(including very early in the morning). They didn’t even ask us if we minded being put in a handicap-accessible room(which is customary) even though non-handicap-accessible rooms were available when we checked in. The sinks are in the room(not the bathroom) in these rooms. Our room wasn’t cleaned the day after we arrived. I complained to the young lady working the desk in the evening but she never made any note of it and staff the next morning knew nothing about it. The free breakfast is OK but most of the tables wabble so things spill. I also noticed the back door is never locked so anyone can enter the building and go up the stairs without being seen.

Did not find anything wrong with this place. Nice King size beds with 6 pillows, clean, flat screen TVs, fridge and microwave. Looks like they just did some remodeling bc our room overlooked part of the back and there were about 15 old tv cabinets back there. Breakfast in the morning was good. Waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, cereal, homemade mini cinnamon rolls, bagels and toast. Coffee was good. The room was a little musty when first walking in but only bc the air wasn’t on, which I understand. Once we put the air on, it was fine. Shower was nice.

i wasnt sure what 2 expect but it wasnt that bad at all. my friend & i stayed here cuz we went to the lincoln museum and did the route 66 road tour to get there. anyway, the room was clean and the beds were nice. it was comfortable but i do wish the pillows were a bit more firm than soft. our room came with a fridge and microwave which was awesome cuz not all rooms have that available. the breakfast was not that bad either. the sausage and biscuits were ok, but i didnt like that batter 4 the waffles. i honestly think that this was a good deal 4 what u pay 4. i mean its $ 60 a night so what do u really expect?! my friend & i liked it so we would come back here if we ever make a trip to springfield ever again.

Here’s my original review… all of it factual and accurate. You can read below for my response to the management’s criticism… Priceline let us down! This place should be called the«Hooptie Arms» instead of Baymont. Here’s a list of issues observed within the first 30 minutes spent in the property: 1. One of our rooms smelled when we opened the door. No specific odor, just stink. 2. The toilet in our other room ran and ran after being flushed. 3. The light in the bathroom popped and burned out the second time it was switched on. Sure, light bulbs burn out everywhere but when I called the front desk I WASN’T told that someone would be right up. Instead, I was asked if they could just fix it tomorrow, as in after I checked out. Excuse me!?! Should I just take a dump in the trash can since I can’t see the toilet? She proceeded to tell me that if we REALLY wanted it fixed that I could come down and get a bulb from her. How about a step ladder? Nope — she told me to just stand on the chair… the swivel chair. Seriously?!? Amendments: 1. There are always at least two sides to every story. I asked my wife to review what I had originally written and guess what… her recollection of the problems we had matched what I wrote. I’m pretty sure that the member of management who replied to my review did not actually stay in either of our rooms with us so I feel confident that his version is based on something other than direct observation. 2. Yes, I did ask for a different room when the woman at the desk informed me that your maintenance personnel were NOT available 24⁄7 and that it would be the next day before someone could change the lightbulb for me. No, she did not offer to move us to a different room; she stated there weren’t any available. 3. Yes, someone did come up to the room to change the lightbulb in the bathroom. The reason this happened was that I went down to the front desk to get a lightbulb. A male employee appeared while I was trying to get a reflector flood bulb instead of the CFL that the ditz at the desk originally offered me. I asked the same ditz if the male employee could change the light bulb and she told me that he could not because he was not on duty. I then called out to him and he agreed to come make the switch… something that certainly never would have happened if the staff member on duty had her way. Basically, my timing was right and I forced the issue, thus someone showed up and changed the lightbulb for me. Honestly, you should be ASHAMED that your front desk person even suggested that I should have come down and picked up a bulb then changed it myself. 4. The manager who responded to my review(and the other sub-par reviews all on the same day) asked that I comment on the condition of the property instead of the incompetence of the staff. Here you go: A. The elevator has some bizarre fake-brick wood paneling as a lining. No idea in the world what that could be all about. Actually, it was a bit creepy. B. The elevator seems to be the coldest place in the hotel. It was almost as if they were piping in outside air during the winter… but just to the elevator. My kids were sufficiently uncomfortable in the elevator that they asked to take the stairs instead. C. The carpeting in the stairwell showed significant wear and was filthy. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones who decided they were a better bet than the bolloxed-up elevator. D. The climate control in the stinky room malfunctioned and it was over 90-degrees when we returned from dinner. We kept a window open all night to ensure the kids would not suffer from heat exhaustion. E. The easy chair in our room was sufficiently grungy that my wife insisted on putting a towel over it before sitting down. F. The bathroom door in our room was sufficiently warped that you had to put a little shoulder into it to get it to latch. G. We didn’t sample your breakfast and cannot offer an opinion on it. Why not? Mainly because the other reviews on Unilocal talked about problems with your breakfast. After the stellar experiences we had the night before we decided that McDonald’s had a much higher probability of feeding us without pissing anyone off. 5. Thanks for the suggestions of other hotels which are better run in the area. I’m sure some other Unilocalers will take you up on your recommendations for decent places to stay when visiting Springfield! There you go…
