While I was competing in the Miss America system, I went to The Custom House to have all my evening gowns, cocktail dresses and interview dresses hemmed, taken in and repaired (for missing or loose beading). I cannot tell you how happy I was with the job they did! The alterations I was asking for could have easily been done incorrectly and they did a wonderful job! If I still lived in Springfield I would definitely go to them again!

I had a very different experience. I walked in to ask for an alteration and the owner looked very annoyed. Not friendly at all. She told me she wasn’t taking anymore right now. There are much better ways to turn a customer away. Also customer service skills need to be improved greatly.

I had a pair of pants hemmed recently. Very friendly and they had my pants ready on time (I told them no rush and picked them up a week later). The hem itself could be better: I could see the stitch line from the outside of the pants. It makes me too nervous for them to try to shorten the sleeves of my suit jacket.
