Apparently Dickey’s is now offering a buffet on Monday nights. I would have never known had it not been for the text club. Has anyone ever seen a Dickeys advertisement? I am surprised we’ve had a Dickeys for this long. The bbq is not that great, and the restaurant is tucked in a strip mall that requires battling Republic Road traffic… all things that would deter a regular person… but not this girl. I got a text that said $ 9.50 for a buffet and drink, so I had to try it. I like to go scan a buffet before I commit, and this one confused me. I wasn’t sure if it was a buffet or extra foil pans on the counter. There were three big chafing dish lids lined up, and paper taped to wall above them with scribbles of what was beneath. Lucky for me, each of the three lids were hiding two smaller pans: thick sliced turkey, pulled pork, green beans, baked beans, rolls, and baked potato casserole. No, yes, no, yes, yes, yes. Turkey tasted like Cajun lunchmeat and green beans tasted like strong black pepper(even though I didn’t see any). Small portions of all, and very slow to refill… And there are no plates. You eat off the same piece of tray liner paper that you start with, and so does everyone else… every trip to the buffet. Something seems really unsanitary about that. If I were to make some suggestions, other than the obvious of keeping your buffet trays full, it would be the following: put out butter for the rolls, put lids on the tea dispensers, put out small bowls for ice cream-not everyone wants a cone, especially from a counter that has four or five broken cones laying around… our maybe I wanted to make a root beer float. It’s not a bad price for a buffet, especially since you get one of those sweet big yellow cups. Add a few more food options and I’ll definitely visit again.

We paid $ 21 for two small salads and a drink. If you try to eat healthy here you will go hungry. The salads were the size of what l consider a side salad. No complaint about the taste, only the quantity.

Today was the second time I have gotten take out from Dickies. It will be the LAST. My husband, our friend, and I placed our order, including something for our friend’s husband. Each was a plate with two sides, so a total of eight sides. Because the friend was heading to her husband’s nursing home, we were splitting up the food on the way and discovered we were missing a side of okra, jalapeño beans, a bag of chips, and a potato casserole. We returned immediately to correct the issue. The idiot at the cash register who screwed up the order in the first place acted put out, made us het our own chips, then proceeded to put first our jalapeño beans and then our okra on the tray of a guy who had ordered neither. He was very rude overall, acting as if WE were at fault, all because we wanted what we had paid for. In addition, the meat on ny sandwich was not just charred but burnt and dry, my tanglers and fries were soggy, and everything was over salted.

Very clean café atmosphere. I enjoyed the food very much. The menu is typical for a BBQ restaurant. The ribs were excellent. The drinks were self serve with free refils. There was an ice cream machine with free soft serve ice cream for dine in customers.

I like dickeys but this visit really left me flat. i love bbq. I was in the mood for ribs. I get there and they are out of ribs!!! Unacceptable… The 3 meat platters left me flat. Pork and brisket were good. Chicken was bland. Service was ok but everyone their appeared to be rookies. This was my second time and I don’t know if I’ll go back. Will b hard pressed

My kids and I went there on a Saturday. Low staffed, but no real customers. Taste was eh. Overpriced for what you get. Probably won’t go back.

A little disappointed. It was strange from the minute we walked in. We stood in front of the«place order here» sign and was ignored by the guy behind the counter. Then when he finally felt like talking to us, he made us feel stupid for not knowing how their system worked. We got our order placed and took our seat. Food was so so. I had ribs and they were over cooked and hard. My wife’s pulled pork was good but the potato salad was disgusting. Tasted like instant mashed potatoes with some extra stuff thrown in. Free ice cream was nice.

I heard about this place from a friend of mine so I took a couple of blokes from work to check it out. I had the two meat plate with pulled pork, and brisket. Sides were fried okra and mac-n-cheese. Service was nice but when we went to go find a seat the first table we picked had ants all over the place under it. So we went to the side room. The meats. Oh deary no. The brisket was fatty, devoid of smokiness, and just plain strange. One of my friends had it too and we both agreed. No thank you. The pulled pork was better but still missing that smoke pit bbq flavor I wanted. The best description we had of the meat was a bland canvas for which to taste the bbq sauce. The sides. Mac-n-cheese as ok. Sauce was creamy and cheesy. Seemed like sauce out of a big plastic bag. The fried okra is frozen pre-battered and fried when ordered so nothing you couldn’t get at home. The baked roll that came with the meal was very nice. Really the highlight of my meal. The sauce. 3 sauce choices of spicy, sweet, and classic. I tried the sweet and it was ok. Not the best I’ve had, not the worst. Cost Price was on par with other Springfield BBQ joints if not on the little high side. 2 meat plate with a drink was near as makes no difference 14 bucks. The drink did come with a take home cup kind of like Newks. For me the experience was not a great one and seeing how pre-packaged the place is I’d be hard pressed to find a reason to go back. Just too many better options in town.

Went with my youngest(age 5) I had the baked potato and he had the chicken nuggets. Plenty of food and good sauce. Service was good and the staff was helpful and nice. Our food was freshly made and hot and although they apologized for the wait it was served very quickly. They have free ice cream cones so it was an instantly one of my sons favorite places. Ill try the ribs next visit and some different sides.

Down right best barbecue in Springfield. I had no idea what I wanted or where to start and the employees could see the confusion on my face. They gave me several samples of different meats and had a ton of options for sides. The food was incredible, service was amazing but the place was so smokey my guest and I couldn’t stand it. We ended up having to eat outside and I spent the rest of the day smelling like a restaurant.

Came in at 4 pm. It was very slow. Got the ribs, green beans and fries. The sides were delicious. Luckily because the ribs were cold and tough. Couldn’t even eat them. The server apologized when she gave them to me. She said they didn’t look very good. I agreed. Anyway last time to come here. I’m not a second chance person. Too many good places to go.

I’ve been three times now. We started going because they have good lunch specials. But I’ve decided my weekly BBQ lunch will be somewhere else. The food is decent, it could be great. The problem is preparation. It’s often not really hot. And sometimes your sandwich has lots of meat… other times very little. The staff tries to be friendly, but they are way understaffed. The service is TERRIBLE. This last time, we walked in with nobody in front of us. We walked straight to the counter and were ready to order. They didn’t even say anything to us for 5 minutes. And then it took us 20 minutes before we sat down with our lunch. And half our orders were incorrect. That is just unacceptable.

I love barbeque but I was not impressed with Dickey’s. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich that was okay. The meat didn’t have a good smokey flavor and there wasn’t much there. When I get a sandwich I want the meat falling out of the sandwich and my fingers to be messy. The sauces(original, sweet, and spicy) weren’t that great to me, others may like them. I ordered the«Fall Off The Bone Pork Ribs.» While they were fall off the bone, they were more like jerky. It seemed like they had been on the smoker for way too long and the outer layers had literally turned to jerky… they were that chewy. While I may give them another chance, it’s going to be a while.

The war has begun and Dickey’s has entered a very competitive market in Springfield BBQ arena. The two meat entrée for 10 bucks, free ice cream and giant pickles, the perfect meal! Great pulled pork, wasn’t blown away by the ribs. Very kid friendly.
