Very pleased with Dave’s support and suggestions and the install of an antenna in our attic. We have been using a set of $ 20 Radio Shack rabbit ears for more than two years. But there were some channels we could rarely get(wmpt 22) and almost all channels would fade with any kind of storm. We live inside the beltway near Tyson’s Mall. After much indecision we decided to give Fairfax AVI a chance to come check our attic and estimate what would happen to our signal strength. Wow, what an improvement. We have gone from 40 stations to over 50 including all the stations in Baltimore and wmpt which is in Annapolis. The signal is great and we had no fade or loss of signal during a heavy rain storm recently. If you are thinking of this solution I can highly recommend spending the $ 450 for the antenna. I figure that’s less than six months of cable.

Dave Thompson provided outstanding service installing my rooftop antenna at a reasonable price when we decided to cut the cable. He offered a choice of a standard or taller antenna at the same price. We initially declined the taller one out of aesthetic concerns, but ended up calling him back when our reception proved spotty. He came back and raised the antenna at no extra charge. But problems persisted because, he realized, our Tivo was defective and wasn’t passing the antenna signal through clearly. So in addition to raising the antenna, he put in a splitter so we could bypass the Tivo for better reception, and also helpfully stated his findings regarding the problematic Tivo in a written email to us, greatly facilitating our difficult but ultimately successful efforts trying to get Tivo to honor its warranty — again, all at no extra charge. Highly recommended!
