In. Springfield VA, don’t go there. I hope lots of people read this! The witch would not give me any of the specials all over the windows not explaining that my out of pocket cost for a pair of single vision lenses-a children’s size yet so cheaper to make– was double what i would pay for 2 pairs if i did not use my insurance. And then this alleged manageress of the store sent me away with the glasses a week later without even a case to put the glasses. And when I asked her why no discounts, she said that I had asked for progressives(a lie) and then said that the tiny frames were more expensive. Rubbish. And to top it off, she told me that a package including stuff I did not want like coatings and a years’ insurance cost less that not having those. Now having questioned her I belleve that she made that up too to get more money. A disgrace!

Customer service left less than what was desired & the selection of frames were God awful. There wasn’t any specific instance that makes me leave 2 stars, just a culmination of my experience visiting this location. The doctor next door & her staff, however were very nice & extremely accommodating given my tardiness. I would visit her again but I would & did not patronize the store. Also, finding this place was not easy. Google neglected to inform me that it had moved from Alexandria to Springfield & when I got to Loisdale Road, I was still struggling to locate the place & the staff in the store were less than helpful.

After more than 25 years serving Alexandria and the Greater Metropolitan Washington area, this location is officially closed. Dr Ngo, her assistant Kathy, and the For Eyes staff will be greatly missed. Thank you for all your years of helping people in choosing their eyewear, fixing broken(sometimes entirely) glasses, and generally making the world a better place. Farewell.

Came in with a new prescription, needed to wear old glasses while waiting for new to be ready, but ear handle had broken off. Christine asked to look at them, and fixed my current glasses while I was trying out frames. She did not have to do that, which makes me doubly grateful.

I have shopped at this location for 20 years. For Eyes is located next to the Kaiser Permanente medical center(a large HMO), and across the street from Springfield Mall. Due to the Mall closing for badly needed refurbishing, they are now in a bad location for retail traffic. Kaiser keeps them alive, in a weird symbiosis that makes no sense for Kaiser. Let me explain. First, I lost my prescription sunglasses in the Ocean on vacation, and my main glasses are 5 years old, damaged, and I needed a new prescription anyway. Patients at KP get an eye exam for $ 10, but their eyeglass shop is VASTLY overpriced. Almost every patient takes their prescription elsewhere, and the closest place is For Eyes. For Eyes thrives on KP customers, with a lot of repeat Kaiser customers because of plain dealings and good customer service. Almost every eyeglass business offers a BOGO, or 2 for $ 99.00 entry price special, but we all know that the lens coatings is where they get you. At For Eyes that isn’t so. I got a nice pair pf Bill Blass glasses, one sunglasses and one regular, with all of the anti-glare, anti scratch, and polarized grey sun-glass lenses for $ 198. No tax, no extra cost warranty. Now, if my glasses break or get scratched… anything, they will replace them for $ 25.00 each for lens or the frame. I am hard on my main glasses… no matter how much I try to safeguard them I end up scratching them or losing the tiny screws or rolling over on them in bed after falling asleep with the TV on. So, instead of selling an up-front cost contract, you just pay for it if you need it. The sales clerk and I got along great, and she really was interested in finding the best look for me, even urging me to take a risk and get something with a little«swag». We had fun with it. I had a good time, and the plain pricing took away all the worry and stress. Now, I did shop around, but Vision-works and Lens Crafters didn’t even TRY to beat For Eyes. The only reason I didn’t give For Eyes a 5 star rating is that one pair of the glasses I chose were actually in the wrong spot, so I had to select another pair of regular eyeglasses, but since I had already liked another pair just as well, it was not much of an issue. For Eyes was great. My salesperson’s name is Christine, and mine is Chris, so we just clicked, and after hearing the price we just had fun with it. I can’t wait till they come in.

I actually bought glasses here a while ago, but am planning to return again soon. I was new to this area at the time and was looking for an eye doctor to an updated contact lens prescription. In Maryland, Foreyes have optometrists on site but in Virginia they are separated for some reason… but it wasn’t a big issue because there is a doctor next door. The staff was nice enough walk me next door and help me get a walk in appointment with the doctor. about 45 minutes later, I happily walked out with both a glasses and contact lens prescription and an invitation to come back anytime if I needed anything else in the future(kudos to Dr. Wong and his staff!) Back at Foreyes, I worked with the store manager,(Alba?), and had a very smooth interaction with her. 3 days later my Glasses and my contacts arrived… I haven’t had an issues to date.

It was a quick and prompt check out but they need to smile more instead of just staring blank at a customer.(a particular girl that works there but I don’t know her name)

I came there with a prescription from a different eye doctor, my own frames, and no insurance. The girl worked with me to identify the right lenses and a discount which worked for my situation(progressive-trasnsitions!). She also asked enough questions to make sure that the progressive lenses would fit correctly in the frames. I have have problems with this before, and realize it can be a tricky process to get them right. Also, she didn’t try to sell me the highest price lenses around. Anyway, I left a happy camper. The glasses arrived a week later, and are fit perfectly. They didn’t seem to have an optometrist around. It would be even better if it was a one stop shop. Oh– and its not open on Sunday.
